We recently purchased a 1941 home in the Ballard area which came with nine single pane windows in the basement. Originally we had not planned on replacing the windows, however during the record rainfall in the end of December 2019, we learned a couple were leaking and well lets just say the heat in the lower level of the home was non-existent because of the single pane windows. I put in for quotes on Home Advisor and selected three companies for bids, while also contacting three additional companies I choose based on reviews from internet searches and recommendations from friends. After setting up times for all six to come view the job I have to say, I still hate sales people who try to strong arm you into a purchase. For instance, Renewal by Anderson was horrible! Sales person actually tried several sales techniques to push me into a purchase. Price started at almost $18k and slowly over an hour made it down to $14k, what a joke and waste of time. Four of the other companies wanted me to purchase seven windows and glass block my garage and laundry room windows which I really did not want to do. One problem, the current window in the laundry room has a special piece glass installed which allows me to run the dryer hose out the window, so I wanted something similar. So in steps the guys from Stirling Glass. I showed them the windows and after doing the measurements, the owner Kristjon asked me about the laundry room window. He explained the major companies like Milgard unfortunately do not make what I was looking for but he was positive he could find exactly what we wanted. After receiving all six bids, I choose to go with Stirling Glass which was a company Home Advisor put me in touch with. Now for the job... Stirling Glass was able to match the top floor Milgard Tuscany windows which were installed by the previous owner and he found us a custom made laundry room window which allows a dry hose attachment! The install went smoothly and Kristjon repaired/replaced the rotted wood framing which was causing the leaks at no additional charge! Though they are a new company, I cannot tell you how happy I am with the service, install and extra mile this company went for us! I would have no reservation in referring them to my family and friends. I can honestly say, working with these guys was like working with a good friend, it was awesome and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Home Advisor for sending Stirling Glass our way! Not sure if it is proper etiquette, but I will say our job was completed for more than half off of what Renewal by Anderson was trying to force on us. Hire them, you will be glad you did!!!
