Smaller Deliveries

I contacted Smaller Deliveries to deliver 2 different sizes of gravel so I could rebase my driveway and add a smaller layer. This is the first time I've done a project like this. Mark was always responsive with phone calls. The first day, William brought the larger rock and gave me a helpful bit of pro advice which was spot on. He was able to do a great job spreading gravel with the truck. My driveway is circular and hilly. I had 2 loads and he made our day much less labor intensive. The second day, Mark brought the smaller rock, and also was an artist with his ability to get much of the gravel spread along the driveway. Both days were much less work and now I have a very nice gravel driveway. As a side note, I rented a plate compacter, and that is such a game changer for the end product. I will use Smaller Deliveries for future projects, they are friendly and provide great service.

Made initial contact via email and received rapid response telling me when he would call to verify delivery time. Appreciated that he specializes in delivering smaller quantities of materials since others I checked usually have a minimum of 5 cubic yards or 1 ton. The convenience was worth the price.

Excellent and prompt service. Quick call back, often with same-day delivery. Driver is extremely capable and precise. Smaller trucks are maneuverable and don't tear up driveway or landscaping. Both Mark and William and are always willing to work with the customer. We have been buying material from Smaller Deliveries for years now and will continue to do so as they make the entire experience a breeze. Thanks guys!

1 1/2 hour late from 2 hour window given and no call indicating they were running late. Additionally, a 5% senior discount is stated on their Angie's page and when asked we were told they offer no Angie's list discount.

When I called Smaller Deliveries, they were very helpful in helping me decide upon the best product and estimate of the appropriate quantity of gravel to repair my driveway. The drive arrived on time and helped me spread the gravel by slowly dumping it as he drove forward, and then by helping me rake it into place. This was very helpful, as I was all by myself on this project. He also helped me plan for a couple of future loads of soil that I will need on a lawn care project. I will definitely use Smaller Deliveries again!

My driveway leading to the back of the house gets muddy when it's rainy season. I researched a little bit on the topic and found Smaller Deliveries on Angie's list. I emailed the company through Angie's List and Mark quickly replied. I asked more questions such as based on the dimensions of my driveway, how much gravel I would need and what type of rocks will meet my needs. Mark and I emailed back and forth and each time he gave very clear and upfront answers. He gave a very reasonable quote and scheduled for a day that was convenient for me. On the day of delivery, he came on time. Even though it was rainy, he kept a very positive attitude throughout the whole process. His truck was able to dump & spread the rocks that I ordered which made my job a lot easier. Everything went very smoothly and I am very happy with the product and delivery of it. Would use Smaller Deliveries again, definitely.

Smaller Deliveries delivered the requested material and dumped it right on the tarp I had left on my lawn. The bark was even better quality than I expected for the very reasonable price. I don't have a truck, so services like this are great. The driver was running late due to traffic, and I had to get a call for an updated ETA, but the company was very responsive and the whole process only took about 10 minutes when he arrive.

I called, they said they could deliver that after, and he made two deliveries of 6 yards each. With the smaller dump truck, he was able to put the loads very close to where I needed them. William who delivered the loads was wonderful. Easy to do business with.

Amazing!!! The driver "William" was very pleasant and friendly. He spread the gravel out as we requested and we will use this company again.

I received a response to my initial contact within less than 30 minutes. My delivery window was 2:30 to 5:00pm and the truck arrived around 3:00pm. Mark was professional and friendly. He delivered the gravel over the tarp I laid down beforehand. In five minutes, the job was done, he was paid and on his way. I have a small, long, private drive, and Mark's small truck was ideal for it. The cost for materials was the same as in other places. Delivery fee was $79. Well worth it. Thanks!

This is the first time we used this company and it will not be the last! They are great at customer service!! I called and talked to them about what I might need and they had great answers! The price was fantastic and the service was 10+! Make sure you call them for topsoil, gravel, rock, sand, or compost!

They were punctual, polite, and very pleasant to work with. The price was very reasonable. It was very much appreciated that he still accepted checks, especially since we do not have debit cards.

I placed 2 separate orders with Smaller Deliveries, the first being 3 yards of their black bark, and the second being 4 yards of 5/8- gravel. I dealt with Mark on both deliveries. Mark was on-time (actually early) for both deliveries, as well as being professional and courteous. In addition, Mark expertly delivered the product in the exact area I had marked in my driveway. I would not hesitate to use them again, and highly recommend them.

The service provider was quick to respond to initial contact for work, and delivered the product promptly and without issue. Happy with things so far. The only concern is that the play chips have long shards of wood that makes me very uncomfortable putting it with the toddlers play. Typical play chips should average 3". We found many many pieces that were 10" in length and a few at 20". We have to filter through 10 yards of chips to take out all these long shards. I should have asked about the characteristics of their play chips before going with them, but was sold on the good pricing and prompt responses to our request. I would use them for other materials but not for play chips unless they have better quality control to remove shards.

They were extremely patient and walked me through the process explaining every detail but always leaving the decisions up to me with no pressure one way or another. Their wonderful professionalism continued through when they delivered the product. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend their services.

Very pleased with this company. I got tired of paying for bags of soil and figured I would look for a delivery instead. After doing a lot of research I found these guys. The prices are very reasonable and I have used their services twice already and look forward to using them again in the future for a third project I have. The first time I used them was for 4 yards of crushed rock ($218.96). The second time was for 4 yards of topsoil ($170.96). I want to support small companies and this is one I am happy to utilize their services and tell others about.

Went well, on time service, no issues

Incredibly well. Yet another gem from Angie's List. I have a hard time finding topsoil, bark, garden mulch, and gravel in non-industrial sized deliveries. Other companies have taken time to schedule, can't/won't deliver appropriate loads for my single family dwelling, and seem to be very put-upon to deliver 2 different substances. I submitted an email for a quote on Friday PM expecting the usual 3-4 day lag in response. Instead, I got an email response within an hour. The price for my dual load + delivery was the best value I have ever seen. AND he offered to deliver the next morning! Mark was punctual, professional, and delivered 2 piles of separated material! I have had deliveries in the past with substantial mixing. Wow. I won't use anyone else!

Went great! I'd forgotten they were coming!! Yikes! Hadn't moved the cars in driveway yet, but in spite of that!! the driver was incredibly patient, friendly, cheerful and accommodating. I hadn't even mentioned Angie's when I placed order, as they are hard to find on this list and I didn't know they were on it. I call them "Big Roo," but that turned up nothing. I Just discovered that they are, in fact, on Angie's List under "smaller deliveries." Anyway, when I think of some of the surly deliveries I've experienced in the past in the best of situations, I was happily stunned by their cheerful attitude. This is the second time I've used them and I'm sure there will be more occasions.

It went perfectly, except for some scheduling difficulty, which I suppose might be expected on the 4th of July weekend. I called "Roo" in the early afternoon, to try to schedule delivery on July 5. When I spoke with the operator, I told him that I was still in the price-checking phase, but that I needed to have 5/8" -- gravel delivered as soon as possibly before a noon start time that had been scheduled when the crew left on the 3rd. After I found out that most of the sand and gravel companies had closed for the entire 4th of July weekend, even running skeleton crews on both Wednesday, I soon realized that paying the $69 delivery fee was the best that I was going to get on such short notice and such a difficult 4-day weekend. When I called back, there was no one in the office so I left a message that I did want 3 yards of gravel delivered to my home by Saturday afternoon. When no one had appeared by the usual close of business time (5 pm), I called again and the call was picked up in the delivery truck. I asked him if I was going to be his last stop or when I might expect him. He responded that he'd never heard of me and didn't have any idea of what I was talking about. He said that he didn't recall speaking with me and that I wasn't on the schedule at all. When I reiterated (forcefully, because I worked in an industry where I couldn't get away with scheduling fewer staff or supervisors than were needed to run the operation on any weekday we were open, he said that If I was going to be "pissy" about it, he didn't want my business. I replied that I was simply frustrated because I'd spent a lot of my time and energy (and money) on a project that could have been finished by the end of the first week of July. I asked him what he suggested. He said that he could take part of his Sunday, which he used as a family day, to pick up and deliver the gravel to my home. Because I think every employee deserves his or her time off and because I think family time is shortchanged in our current culture, I said that an early (10:00 a.m. or so) delivery would be fine, since the crew could start on Monday and hopefully finish by Tuesday. He arrived right on time on Monday and was very pleasant (it is hard to dislike someone who lets his wife and kids have kangaroos for pets), delivered the gravel, and it was paid for and he was on his way well before the landscaper and crew arrived. To go all Shakespearean on you, "All's well that ends well."

Both the owner and the delivery guy were courteous, prompt, and professional. They worked with me to help me figure out what to order, and then where to dump it. They helped me figure out the best price, and they happily unloaded in separate piles.

I called the evening before and they delivered when they said they would the next day. They put the load exactly where I asked them to. I liked the fact that they deliver smaller loads.
