Fabulously wonderful. I have never been unhappy with anything he has handled for me. I wish I could give him A++ in some of the ratings.
Description of Work: I have hired Mr. Taylor to work between 5-10 times on two of my homes since 2003. He IS bonded so I am not sure why the listing says otherwise. He gutted my original "nightmare" 1929 bathroom in October 2007 which had dry rot in floor and four colors of tile. He completely tiled the alcoved tub/shower including ceiling, tiled the floor after new subfloor laid, added storage, wainscoting and replaced plumbing fixtures and lighting. I had Taylor redo the laundry room in the basement beneath the bath at the same time, adding new sink, counters and storage. In 2009 in the same 1929 home, he moved doorways, added closet space, fixed broken double hung windows and painted. In 2003, he replaced a gazebo which ran 50 feet long across back of property, customizing it for lighting (including dimmer for the social area), with lattice work and roof with clear panels for sunlight but protected from rain or tree debris, as well as a a special section for potting plants that could be secluded from the conversation area by sliding latticework (like a barn door). In my current 1988 home, since Nov. 2009, I have used Bob Taylor 3-4 times for updating a powder room, removing a closet, fixing drywall, adding two fences and general work including fixing my pond filter. I expect to use him for updating my master bath which will include expanding the shower, repositioning the tub, and replacing vanities/countertops. I shall also be using him for kitchen upgrades, and an expansion of my laundry room. He is a multitalented and creative person. Bob has excellent skills in many facets of construction, and especially for detailed finishing work. He always has a good idea for solving any problem (and there can be SO many in a 1929 home), listens well to what the homeowner wants to accomplish. He will also tell you if he feels a different tradesperson will be better suited for the work you desire (like laying vinyl flooring), and he won't waste your time. Bob is always punctual (7 am SHARP!!), never a "no-show", works on your job until he completes it (no spreading himself too thin) and he cleans up after himself--How many contractors do that? As noted by the first reviewer, he is not inexpensive, but every dollar you pay him is worth double in the quality of work you receive. I have only noted the last visit above for date and price, but some of my jobs have been $25,000-30,000 range, and there was nothing to complain about at the end. He is a gem. I won't hire anyone else, and sometimes that means waiting six months if he is busy. I just get on the list!!!
