Gary's Exterior Maintenance

Gary Fegler left a business card in our mail slot. I normally don't hire contractors when I learn of them this way, but the card was very professional looking, and after a quick Angie's List search, I saw that his ratings were quite good. Now I understand why. Gary was responsive, helpful, and professional. And the job his firm did looks really great!! Done right, power-washing is a slow and laborious undertaking, and I could tell by the results that the work was done professionally and with great care. I'll definitely hire Gary's company again.

He is excellent at both. I would use him again for our next roof cleaning. I highly recommend him to all. I have used him for more than 10 years.

After a couple of years of dealing with every type, from dishonest to lazy, it was such a relief to find a provider as dependable, hard working and honest/fair as Gary. He showed up every day at exactly the time he said and worked straight through for 8 hours. He pressure washed my entire roof, house and deck. He replace several tabs of roofing the wind had blown off and cleaned all gutter and made a couple repairs to them. My house has a steep roof and 4 dormers, so it was a difficult task. The deck is very large and two levels and has approx. 400 balusters and lots of stairs, he even washed all the deck furniture. He is surely a type A, since every small task left undone bothers him. He cleaned 50 feet of sidewalk, another gutter on a separate 2 car garage that wasn't included in his bid. He cleaned up all the debris from cleaning gutters. Gary was very professional and I will definitely recommend him to friends and have him back when I need more work done.

I originally called Gary for an estimate on cleaning my gutters, Gary promptly called back. We set a time and he arrived on time and quoted me a price, and started the next day. Gary not only did an excellent job on the gutters, but also pressure washed my siding front and back for no extra charge. I gave him a bonus for doing such a excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate calling him again

The problem gutter joint is located about 22 feet above the ground. We could not reach there with our ladder to investigate the source of problem. We decided to call someone local and Gary's name showed up on our search with great reviews so I gave him a call. When he came out for an estimate, he walked around the house and gave us an estimate. I asked him for an acceptable payment choice, from reading other reviewers comments, he said still preferred a check. He said normally he charges $199 but our house has two tiers of gutter system (upper and lower and more surfaces areas) so he said he will charge us $225 + tax. He said he will show up between 10 am -10:30 am and he showed up at 10 am on a rainy morning. He set up his equipment and proceeded with the job. He was very thorough and had such a high standard of his work. He took hours to clean our gutters and anything and everything in his path that needed pressure wash cleaning (windows, dirty mountain bikes, garage doors, deck, front porch, driveway and even our green/blue bins). In addition, the roof that had green moss/grass from the barn swallows stay in the spring time!!! Who does that these days, treat customers homes as though his own and really well look after them!! I was speechless. He gave us a clean exterior like the day when we moved in about a year ago. He is a rare gem that I want to sign up for a list of his repeat customers. It was a big job in very cold but sunny weather. Gary arrived each day at 10:30 am just as he said he would. He worked each day until dark. Gary treated my home like it was his. He did a great job and an excellent job of clean-up after. He did such a good job he snagged another job from a neighbor who was impressed with his work before he even finished . My ONLY complaint is that Gary doesn't take credit cards. It's cash or check only. He said he does that because he can keep his prices down. If he took credit cards and paid the 3 to 4 percent he said he couldn't keep his prices as low because it would be eating into his marginal profit. Fair enough. I'm glad I had the job done anyway, but also glad I asked about credit cards before I had him start the job and saved myself some embarrassment.

Gary is a perfectionist. We have used him for over 10 years to clean and treat our cedar shake roof. Roof is over 21 years old and has another 20 years left (at least!). Gary puts in long hours to perform the roof cleaning. He treated our roof prior to selling the house. The roof passed with flying colors. If you need roof cleaning and treatments call GARY.

Gary was great about keeping me informed regarding the scheduled work. He had to reschedule due to weather, but called me right away to confirm. Then he came on the scheduled day and he and his helper worked all day cleaning the roof and gutters. He then sprayed down the entire house and cleaned up all the debris so the house looked fresh and new. The roof looked beautiful when he was finished. This is the first time I have used him but he obviously takes his work very seriously and is very conscientious in his customer service and communication. I would use him again.

We called Gary initially after finding him on Angie's list, and because for our area he was the closest to where we live. As was mentioned in one other person's review, it is Gary and only Gary that you will be talking to. He responded very quickly to my initial phone call on Friday, and came promptly at the time he said on Saturday afternoon to give us his estimate. We had contacted another company for an estimate, and I had at least some idea of what to expect as far as price, so when he gave us his, I wasn't really surprised...his was only $50 higher than the other company was, and theirs was a coupon special. Now, here's where it gets good...the other company had a list of "gotchas" that took up a good portion of the page (disclaimers, etc.)...Gary's was a straightforward, simple "git 'er done" approach. We were most interested in getting the roof of our house cleaned and the moss removed, plus I needed someone to check on the skylights to see to it that they were secured properly. Other than that, I knew I needed the gutters cleaned, but wasn't anticipating where he went with the job. He not only cleaned off the entire roof of the house, he: Sealed the skylights and made sure they were properly secured Re-zinced our furnace chimney (he noticed that it was corroded right away when he came to do the estimate) Cleaned the inside AND the outside of the gutters, plus repaired a leak in a seam of the gutter by the front door Did the roof on the detached shed, plus power washed the shed to boot Power washed the entire house...not just the roof, the entire house from gable to ground level Put new white moss-suppressing paint on the gables Power washed the back deck Power washed the sidewalk starting at the front door out to the driveway Power washed the entire driveway Power washed the entire sidewalk the entire width of the property all the way out to the curb And, when he was done, NO MESS left over for me to have to go behind him and clean up! Bottom line: CALL GARY if you want a professional who really cares about doing a good job on your house and will take care of you! He went WAY beyond what I was expecting...no muss, no fuss, and TOTALLY professional in his work!. He was promptly on time at 9:00 Monday morning, and didn't quit until it was too dark to see, somewhere around 6:00 PM. He said we were a bit outside of his normal service area, but he came anyway. I have no hesitation at all to recommend him to someone else for a similar project. Our house looks almost as good as new (it's about 18 years old).

Gary was cleaning a neighbors roof so I asked for a quote. He gave me one on the spot and we went forward. He committed to a time, but due to some unexpected issues, was not able to start for a couple days later. But once started he did a great job. Cleaning up mess after each day. Gary is a one man band I'd have come back and work on my house w/o hesitation.
