We had multiple problems. When he installed the free standing tub he installed the motor in the wrong spot, which makes a loud sound. He damaged the free standing tub by cutting holes on the side of the tub because he did not know how to install the motor in the proper place. The bathroom upstairs he did not install the tub on concrete, so when you walk in it sounds like it is going to fall apart. It makes a cracking sound. He makes promises and does not keep them. He has told me that he will come to fix these issues and he does not show up. He does not answer my phone calls or text. When he was installing all the new fixtures, he was supposed to remove the old piping and install new, which he forgot to do. Now I have to return unused materials. It has been a very painful and frustrating process. I am very upset. He made several visits. He started out a low estimate then charged double. He never gave me written estimates and started the job without telling me a price. He charged me a lot of money for the poor quality of work.
Description of Work: We remodeled our bathroom. He changed the toilets, changed faucets, re installed the shower heads in two bathrooms, installed a tub upstairs and put a new free standing tub in the master bathroom.

Response from Uniform Plumbing Company
As far as the motor being installed in the wrong spot and making a loud noise-[member name removed] insisted that it be installed in the cabinet underneath the vanity when it should heave been installed underneath the bathroom flooring, thus causing the noise as well as there being an open hole in said cabinet, which she said that her Tile Contractor would cover. The instructions were also opened and misplaced by the customer. We did not damage the free standing tub; she did not have the electrical outlet in the proper location and was not going to have it moved, so she insisted we drill a hole for the power cord to put it in. Upstairs bathroom tub- The tub was damaged upon delivery, customer purchased and had it delivered herself, independent from us. Her husband advised that they could not wait to purchase a new one as they had family coming from Korea and needed to finish this remodel. The tub is not required to be set in mortar and the reason that it makes noise is because the tub itself is damaged. Makes promises and does not keep/ does not answer phone calls- We have been out to customers home 15+ times (when work should have taken approximately 5 times) trying to satisfy their demands however they want all the additional work to be at no cost. Customer also called and texted multiple times per day/night and weekends. Often times, we would show up only to find that nothing was needed on our end- customer was taking advice from her unlicensed tile contractor who knows nothing about plumbing. Needing to return unused materials- Customers tile contractor opted to re-use their shower valve- not our choice/decision. Low estimate- We gave a solid bid, but customer added additional work which of course cost additional money, she constantly asked to “recalculate” the bill expecting to receive free work. The original bid included installation of 5 faucets and 4 toilets- she added 1 tub, 1 soaker tub, 1 shower 2/ hand wand, rain shower head, and a grab bar. How does the value of the work compare to the price? I paid too much – Customer constantly asked/wanted free work, nothing was cheap enough. We gave her access to our contractor pricing, which she STILL said was too much!!!! What did you like least about this contractor? Took too long to finish the job. He is too busy taking other jobs while working on my house- We scheduled appropriately however many times we would go out to her home, the tile work was not done, therefore not allowing us to finish our portion. What surprises came up during the course of the work? Unacceptable quality of work. His skills are not up to date. He did not now how to install tubs. –Our skills are up to date as we are required by Washington State Law to take continuing education on a yearly basis. Her tub was already damaged and she insisted that install it due to her time constraints against our adivse. This is your space. Feel free to give us your two cents…or quote your favorite movie? I want the plumber complete the unfinished job. He needs to correct the mistakes he made. He needs to respond to calls and text. If he returns and completes the job, I will remove adverse feedback.-WE are not going back, customer still owes us for 5 hours of work and does not want to pay for services rendered. Customer changed scope of work yet expected the same price. We have also been extremely frustrated with this customer, we allowed her access to our contractor pricing, where she went down to the supply house, spent several hours with sales associates only to determined that 40% off MSRP wasn’t enough. There was also a language barrier with her unlicensed tile contractor which caused several issues, he would blame us for his lack of production, tell the customer, we would go out, only to find out, the job was waiting on something that he needed to do. We gave this customer the best possible pricing, tried to satisfy her every demand/want, but could not offer work for free. When payment was due, customer always asked to recalculate our price- That is a slap in the face- We are licensed, bonded, insured, professional Plumbing Contractors with 1000’s of satisfied customers and do NOT do subpar work!!
