The Drain Doctors

Two things to think about if you hire this company… I hired "Bob" to trim out my sinks at the end of my remodel… he showed up, tried to tell me it would cost $1500 to trim out 5 sinks, including new drain fittings. I ask him if he would do the work for a negotiated price and we ended up at $1200 for the work… I though that was reasonable… turns out he completed the work in under 3 hours, didn't use new fixtures as agreed and now won't come back to correct the issues with his work. Terrible Price and Terrible Service are the two things to remember.

The actual work was done well - my toilets are no longer leaking and have been set & caulked correctly. The work took 2-3 hours, because the plumber's truck wasn't equipped with basic wax rings and possibly more necessary items to correct the issue. Due to the high cost, I'm assuming I was billed for the time it took to run to the hardware store and purchase the missing equipment. I had used this company in the past and had a toilet reset and it was around $175 (including the service fee for coming to the house). I have been trying to get a hold of the service manager and haven't been able to and as of today (7/24) his mobile has either been disconnected or is out of service. No one at the main line can help with the cost and honestly I'm tired of trying to get this issue resolved. Next time, I will be using a different company.

Went perfectly. One fixture did leak so Bob is returning to replace the faulty faucet.

It was okay and I had nothing negative, but I was not overly impressed. It was a standard service. They got the job done in about an hour. The scheduling was fine and okay.

Problem with toilet fixed, all other plumbing checked and questions answered.

I purchased and 'Big Deal' offer for an inspection. Guy came and checked out my toilet, but didn't readily perform all the services I was expecting in the deal. If I asked him to do something he did - but he didn't seem prepared to do it on his own. In general, the plumber who came was friendly and helpful. However, when he put the kitchen sink back together, he forgot to put one part in. Also, when attempting to repair/replace the outdoor faucet, he broke a pipe in the wall, which meant he had to cut through drywall inside to get to the pipe, which means we had to get the drywall fixed as well, which cost more. Overall, I think the company is good, but perhaps the particular plumber we had (whose name I don't remember, unfortunately), was not the best.

They were just great! We had clogs in both bathrooms and one of the showers was backing up...ewwww. I called another plumber first but when I still hadn't received a call back in two hours, I checked Angie's List again and found The Drain Doctors. They returned my call immediately and said they were sure someone could come out by 5:00, but said Gary would call about a half hour before he thought he might be here. He called sooner that we expected, and was here right away. Gary was so nice to chat with, and got right to it and unplugged all the drains and talked to us about how various things can cause problems. My husband chatted with him for a bit afterward; really like him a lot! We will absolutely use them again (hopefully not too soon!), and absolutely recommend them! Thanks, Gary!!

Good. Punctual. Professional. Pretty clean. Good manners. Experienced. Knew what he was doing. Did a good job. Sinks and toilets working better. Yeah, it is not the least expensive service, but plumbing services are typically not cheap. I knew that the initial $50ish dollar coupon for an inspection would end up more because I needed more done. I do not have a problem with businesses using coupons to build more business, as long as the business is honest. I felt that this provider was. And I know that some plumbers would have charged more for the work that was done and the time involved. I am happy to pay decent price for experience and professionalism. The receptionist answering the telephone was very professional, friendly and customer-service oriented. Nice for a change these days.

The tech was very knowledgable and curtious, very helpful and patient in answer all my questions. Definitely will call them again.

They were fine and very professional. I did pay more than the Big Deal as I asked them for extra services. They unclogged the tub and did exactly what I asked them to do.

I was quite happy with them. I certainly would use them again. I thought he did a good job. They were very prompt, friendly, accommodating, and everything positive.

I picked The Drain Doctors based on the positive reviews on yelp and here and I like supporting local businesses. I was not disappointed. Bob, the owner came out the same day I called and survey the problem, he was very curteous and professional, told me what some of the issues may be and assured me they could fix it up for me. I arranged for them to come fix it and they were very accomodating to my schedule. Gary, Bob's father and the founder of the business, came out and trouble shot the problem, eliminating each possible problem until he isolated the trouble. It turns out it was just old, faulty seaing that was probably original to the house. Gary fixed it quickly and was very friendly and conversational while doing it. No more leaks. I would like to add that they could easily have sold me several thousand dollars of unneeded repairs, I wouldn't have known if there were larger problems...but they didn't. They were honest, did they work needed (and only what was NEEDED), and did so at a fair price. I would recommend them highly.

The guy from The Drain Doctors was fantastic. I have never seen a better plumber. This was really cheap for a visit by a plumber. I think he was the founder of the Company and he is doing these diagnostic things. He was really friendly, really personable. We connected well. He knew his stuff and solved the problem.

The service worked out well. He showed up on time, was very professional and thorough. He also took the time to explain things.

I had plumbing issue in my kitchen and called them to see if I could apply this purchase to the kitchen problem. They said yes. I needed them to come the same day and they did. It worked out good.

Called in on a Friday morning for their toilet tuneup special. They came that afternoon and completed that job. I then asked if they could unclog the shower drain. Bob explained that his truck did not contain that equipment, but that they could be back with the other truck the next morning. Greg showed up on time early Saturday morning and unclogged the shower. We had a couple other little nagging things that had been minor irritants for months if not years, which Greg fixed for no charge. Excellent service, nice people!

We had an elusive leaking noise in the toilet that we had attempted to repair several times. He installed a whole new mechanism. It solved the problem. He also gave us a great idea about installing some sort of pump at our hot water tank, since it takes several minutes to get upstairs. However, I never received the bid.

I was able to make an appointment on Friday and Gary came on Monday. They are easy to contact by email and by telephone. He took care of my problem, and even had to go out to get a part for the toilet, which he did not charge me for. I recommend them highly. Thank you for facilitating the coupon. This was a special Angie's coupon so I paid this $59 amount in advance. He spent over an hour, considering he did not have the part with him.

I called Drain Doctors on Thursday to request their service. I was told that Gary, the owner, could come by on Friday, only one day later. Gary showed up on time and diagnosed the problem with the toilet. I asked him to give me a bid on moving a toilet in another bathroom and he spent at least an hour figuring out the best way to move the toilet and what it would take to do so. I have an older house, with older plumbing and ducting, so coming up with a plan to move the toilet was not as easy as I thought. Gary took me through the scenario so I would completely understand what he would need to do to move the toilet and keep all the piping up to code. I so appreciated all the time he spent explaining the process and coming up with a plan that would be both cost effective and thorough. The final bid was not as high as I would have thought, given the work that has to be done, so I will likely proceed with the plan and definitely have Gary do the work. He also fixed my leaky toilet, replacing the valve, all at a ridiculously low price (Angies list coupon!) I loved working with Gary and believe I have FINALY found a plumber I can call upon, who will do excellent work at a reasonable cost. Not an easy task to accomplish. Call them, you won't be disappointed!

They were professional and arrived on time. He did the job as stated within the deal and cleaned up well after himself. Everything went smoothly.

Drain Doctors seem reliable and responsive. I would call them again.

Excellent Fast Efficient Courteous

Gary, with the Drain Doctore was amazing! quick, effecient, proffesional and engaging. He listened to my concerns than jumped on in and did some adjustments. He was very clean and courteous.

Our toilet was leaking and running every 10 minutes - making noise, wasting water and generally driving us crazy. Angie's list ran an ad for $59 for a leaking toilet tune-up along with other plumbing advice. The Drain Doctors were very responsive and I was able to schedule the work within a few days of purchasing the deal. The fellow showed up on time and assessed the problem. It turned out that my toilet needed more than a tune-up so he wrote up an estimate for the work and deducted the amount that I paid for the tune-up coupon. Essentially, he rebuilt the entire inside of the toilet and also attached the tank so that it didn't wobble (it has wobbled for years). The toilet no longer leaks so I expect my water bill will decrease to it's previous amount, although it will be a couple months before I know for sure. We're not thrilled with the way the tank leans forward about an inch or so - it is visibly crooked. I talked with the fellow about this but he didn't seem to think that he could do anything to make it upright, so I guess we'll live with it like that. It's not a huge deal but we would have been happier if it was straight. After he finished the toilet I talked with him about a couple other plumbing questions around the house. He looked at my husband's bathroom sink that wasn't draining quickly enough, and he adjusted the stopper so that it drains faster now.
