Stuart was a pleasure to work with. We was on time for the estimation appointment and provided a detailed and easy to understand estimate. I checked on the project multiple times. I was impressed by the attention to detail his crew paid to everything. Items not intended to be painted were skillfully covered in plastic and taped off. All of the work was completed as expected and without issue. They kept the job site neat and tidy. Leading up to an during the project Stuart kept in contact with me to be sure we were on the same page with respect to start date, status, and completion date. They started a couple of days late but this was solely due to weather issues. They completed the job a day earlier than anticipated. I would use Stuart again without hesitation.

They were very responsive. They just didn't have the lowest price.

Stuart and his team did an amazing job of painting the entire interior of our house. They were totally thorough, professional and genuinely interested in making certain we were pleased with the progress of the job as well as the end product. The entire job which included all walls and ceiling along with painting out our wood trim took slightly less than a week. Each day the project manager would discuss with me the progress, what they intended to accomplish that day and checked to see if I had any questions or concerns. It is my intention of using these folks again when I have the exterior of the house done. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend them!

Exceptionally happy with the service we received. The owner provided a timely and detailed estimate. Communication done via phone and email. The painters arrived on time and were meticulous in their prep work and painting. Cleanup was done at the end of each day. After two coats of paint were applied, the ceilings and walls look great! Will definitely hire again when the outside of our home needs a new paint job.

Stuart arrived on time, was personable and provided a detailed explanation of services. Finished walls, ceilings and trim came out looking beautiful! We had extra unexpected work on the drywall and the painting crew repaired all areas. Stuart put us into their schedule in a timely manner.

Stuart Reinsche gave a detailed description of the work needed to paint my house in the bid he submitted and that was the reason I chose his bid. He and his crew arrived prompted and Stuart went over the colors I had chosen for the house and how he and his crew would be doing the painting, answering any questions I had before they began. The crew promptly set about the work and the work was completed as he had told me. I was impressed by his attention to detail and checking that I was satisfied with the quality of the work. I was very satisfied. My only difficulty, as a person with disability, was being left with the deck furniture on my back lawn and a large 5 gallon of paint in front of my garage that I was unable to lift, though I was gratified to have extra paint for touch ups. I would definitely use him again with an understanding about furniture and size of paint cans left for touch ups.

After several bids to paint our house we selected Summit. Stuart took the time to explain every detail of our previous paint job as well as what they would do and why. The bid was very fair. When the job began his men were all very professional and thorough. They started and finished on time and the finished product exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Summit Painting.

Very happy with this company. The owner was easy to work with, honest about scheduling and accurate about the amount of time it took to complete the project. The bid was slightly above the average but extremely fair considering the brand of paint I requested and the complexity of the project.

The work crew was excellent. Very friendly, concerned about doing a good job, no complaints. Stuart the owner was easy to work with too at first. I was impressed that his was the only one of many bids that found a rotten wall that needed to have major repair work done first. There were a couple problems that came up afterwards. A couple paint blisters, that he told me could happen despite them doing the best job. And it seemed the porch light fixture was painted shut. He came out to fix these things but to be honest seemed annoyed. He said the fixture was fine and came off easily. It didn't for us & I was afraid of ruining it or the paint if it was stuck on. The real problem was a couple months later, with heavy rains I had a flood of water coming into an upstairs window. I thought perhaps the window had been neglected to be caulked when the painters were working. If they took out the old caulk to do a good job, & then inadvertently forgot to replace it, this could explain the torrent of water coming in & filling up the window frame bottom like a boat taking on water. It had never done that before. He was not happy, told me he could not keep coming out for free. That it would cost me. I said fine, then charge me. Apparently he was bluffing and I called it. He then said he was not going to drive all the way out, they didn't cause the problem (I'm not sure how he knows this for certain without seeing it), that I had a bad window and they had nothing to do with it. The topper; "but we did a good job, and I want you to be happy about that." He was adamant and would not listen to a word I said. Talked over the top of me. After telling me he would charge me for the trip, then telling me he would not come out after all, I said to him that this conversation was a waste of both our time, he was jacking me around & I was going to hang up. It was frustrating to me and I felt like it was gamesmanship at that point. I was crying and embarrassed by that, and after telling him I was going to hang up I did so. He then called me back, angry and abusive. He was furious that I had hung up on him. He then sent me a text message full of abusive and foul language. I have saved that text, and can send it on to Angies List if they wish proof. This is no way to conduct a business. He seems to have major anger and control issues. I realize it is frustrating for a business owner to have to deal with customers and have extra trips cut into time and profit margin, but that can happen. The paint has held up pretty well. The deck stain has failed completely after 1 year. He insisted the TWP was only warrantied with 1 thin coat of stain. I have contacted the manufacturer, they apologized and said this is wrong, an old deck needed 2 coats. The B rating concerns the house paint, the old paint was in terrible condition and I realize it was a lot of work to do it right. It has held up except for a few bubbles. Including the quality of the deck staining, I would have to drop the entire rating down to a C or lower. If you will just pay for the house paint, then go away and not contact him again for possible problems - things will be fine. My house paint for the most part was good. If you notice a problem and ask him to come back, that is where the trouble starts. I checked with AL and an associate told me to just include the copy of his text to me on my review. If your window is leaking you probably have a bad window. You don't treat people like **** because you don't get the answer you want. I've come out once already to do touch up, saved you wasting money on a paint job when I discovered that your house had a ton of rotten wood. I don't appreciate you hanging up on me treating me like **** because I told you to call a window guy to see if the window failed. Our reputation is better than that. Happy holidays grinch

Stuart was friendly and professional from our first interaction with him. The summer is especially busy for everybody, but Stuart made time out of his busy schedule to help us out with repainting our deck, which was greatly appreciated it. He walked us through all the steps we needed to choosing the color and gave us great advice on what kinds of paint we should go for. His responsiveness is incredible. We were able to get everything done a lot faster than I had anticipated. As for the job itself, Stuart did an amazing job pressure washing the deck and painting it properly. We are very satisfied with his work and would definitely hire again.

Stuart and his team provided exceptional customer service and quality work at a reasonable price. Really an overall above average experience. Will definitely use again if I have other painting needs.

Stuart and his team were just what we needed. I was worried about the age of the old paint; he didn't seem to think it was bad at all. Talked to us until we understood just what they would do; seemed very knowledgeable. Summit checked out and caulked all exterior areas, repaired a couple of rough trim boards, sunk all nail heads that had popped up. We got primer and two coats sprayed and rolled on. They painted the surface of our old deck; looks like new. Stuart did say we'd need to replace it within a few years, the paint was a "patch for now". Works well for us, not ready to replace the deck yet. He was able to come a few weeks early as one of his jobs had to be postponed. They worked all day, cleaned up all the debris and were respectful of our landscaping. The cost was very reasonable; they recommended a midrange paint that looks amazing and will last. Summit had painted my sister's home 10 years ago and it still looks great, especially for a west facing house. Evan made friends with our yard cat. Will have them back for some interior work this year. Sorry the photos aren't better. Phone died, so sister took some.

One of the best contractor experiences I have had. Stuart was professional, punctual, and extremely helpful in making suggestions for getting the project done right. His crew was also extremely professional and punctual, and extremely careful about cleanup. The project moved much faster than I expected, and I am delighted with the results. I look forward to using this company again for my interior painting needs in the future.

If this is a somewhat lengthy review, it's because the job itself was big. After 32 years since building the house, it was going to get repainted. It had 2 prior touch up repaints, but there had never been repair of cracks that had occurred in the walls, and after a few (repaired) roof leaks, there was water damage in drywall that needed fixing. In addition,there were 2 skylights with narrow tall vaults that had never been completely finished in the first place. We obtained 6 estimates. Some of the companies seemed accurate in assessing the amount of paint, but not in how to do the prep work. It was clear from Stuart's walk through during the estimate that he could accurately assess the amount of prep work as well as paint. And his bid was no means the highest. We set a date, and there was no delay or phone calls to reschedule. He was present the first day to introduce his crew, and sporadically after that. The foreman George was extremely professional and all of the painters were extremely hard working and competent. My point is that it wasn't necessary for Stuart to be continuously on site, as the rest of the crew were experienced. Each night when the guys left, they cleaned up and we had use of the house. When Stuart did his final review this afternoon, we asked him to give us an estimate for painting the exterior of the house this summer.

The job went extremely well. We are completely satisfied with the process, results and the price of the job. Stuart and his crew were diligent, courteous, respectful and fun to work with. We would use them again for any painting job.

This is the second time we've hired Summit, and we will definitely use them again. Stuart and his crew are awesome--very professional, and they do exceptionally high quality work. This time we hired them to paint a bathroom ceiling, hallway walls, and trim & wainscoting that was not properly caulked or painted when it was installed years ago. The wainscoting was time consuming to prep, and required a lot of attention to detail, but they did a fabulous job. The hallway wasn't easy to paint either--two stories, including angled ceilings over a stairway. They showed up when scheduled, stayed until the job was done, cleaned up after themselves each day (this project took a couple of days), and it looks beautiful. They also worked well with our animals, who were NOT locked up, and were very careful to protect the animals from getting into the paint. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Summit Painting painted the exterior of our home. Stuart, the owner, was extremely detailed, knowledgeable and personable. We interviewed eight painters and Summit?s pricing was very competitive. We were very impressed with Stuarts team of painters. The foreman addressed all of our questions with knowledge and patience. We couldn?t be happier with Stuart, his team and our beautifully newly painted home. We will definitely hire Summit in the future to paint the interior of our home.

I obtained four bids before settling on Summit to do the job. Stuart was by far the most thorough.. taking the time to walk me around the house and explain his services and options. He was great at explaining different types of paints, price options, and helped me with color choices. And he was great at pointing out items that my last painter missed (such as caulking or minor repair). He even pointed out things that were outside of his scope of work but that would help me maintain my home better-- such as ensuring gutter downspouts were in place, and that the concrete around the house was periodically pressure washed. The end result was done ahead of schedule and the end result was impeccable. I inspected the work carefully and I don't think I spotted a single mistake or missed spot. I met the crew on the last day. They were friendly, worked efficiently, and spent extra time to make sure the work was done as perfectly as possible. They also did a great job cleaning up afterwards. Except for the great paint job, I couldn't tell they were ever in the yard. I interviewed other 'A' rated painters on Angie's List. I was happy at the time with my last painter from a couple of years ago. But Summit is definitely a notch above. They're the best painter I've ever worked with but also one of the best contractors I've worked with, period.

the quality of paint job varies: sprayed painted trim - excellent; george deserves the credit for this ceiling/wall painting - decent, no flashing; paint cutting-in - some areas could use improvement; prep work for ceiling/wall painting - lacking; post-painting demasking, clean-up and touch-ups - not done in completion until being asked overall i think it's a solid B+ workmanship. other professionals (e.g., painters, interior designers) who had seen the job since then gave grades that range from A- to B. the crew were polite and courteous and willing to communicate. and from what i could see, they work hard too and even work late to get things done, including some out-of-scope items which was agreed as something that could be taken on. i cannot recommend this company, however, not because of the above reasons, but because of a serious character flaw of the company owner. among the things that happened on the job - disparaging a past client in the presence of new client (me) on the first day of job. - complaining abt everything and anything, and blaming as much as possible on the client. (not sure why the job wasnt rejected outright if he couldnt / not willing to take on additional work, or if i am as troublesome as he claims). this is not someone you can work, discuss or reason with, because everything is always tacked up against you and everything is a "battle/argument" to him. makes you wonder who is the client here? - intolerant abt different opinions and construed such as dissent/question to his authority. - being a bully, insulting, and verbally-abusive including swearing profanities, and in total launched at least 5 tirades towards me via phone and in-person. i had to banished him from my property on the last day when he became increasingly belligerent and was very close to calling the cops. - exhibited emotional immaturish controlling behavior e.g. tape-recording conversations, attorney threats, when resolving invoice query. very persistent in insisting that i do not plan on paying the invoice when all i am saying is i will get back to him by email later. YMMV - You are unlikely to experience the same as me, especially if you never raise questions that get construed as a criticism/battle. Or if you only need to work with George (a head foreman), which to me is nice and normal. in fact, none of the crew members were rude or disrespectful. As a woman, i feel extremely ill-at-ease working with someone who acts this way. I cant imagine any man not feeling discomforted as well. I would not want to work with someone like this even if he/she is the best painter in the world - rather settle for second- or third-best paint job. I suggest you consider some of the negative reviews here, which i myself neglected to back then - similar aggressiveness happening before. Caveat emptor!

The painting crew was polite and professional. They arrived on time each day and worked steadily. The prep and painting work was excellent, and every detail was attended to. All suggestions and requests were honored with no problems. The project was finished on time and the resulting quality was beyond expectations. We were completely satisfied, in every way. High quality paints were used.
