Stuart showed up right on time to perform a detailed estimate, provided lots of information, and set realistic expectations. He stuck to all his agreed pricing and work. It was clear from start to finish that it was important to him that we were satisfied with the process and outcomes. We pushed him quite low on price, but we felt the finished work exceeded the price we paid. He was knowledgeable about techniques and finishes, gave us good advice, and worked with us on color-matching. We chose a dark red for our white-trimmed powder room, which is tricky, so he painted that room himself very carefully. He was obviously proud of the craftsmanship and we are thrilled with the outcome. There were a few very minor mishaps (which I think happened because Stuart couldn't always be present with his crew due to a personal issue, and some little mishaps always seem to go with the territory) but Stuart was an excellent and prompt communicator and made sure that everything came out OK and that we were satisfied in the end. He is young but seems to come from the old school when it comes to work ethic, promptness, and customer service. But we also appreciated his modern and prompt communication style, ability to email PDFs of documents, and open manner. My only complaint was that he gets his discount through Sherwin-Williams Paints. We don't feel this brand is the best quality (confirmed in the recent Consumer Reports ratings and article). I'm sure Stuart could procure other paints but the cost would be higher. I think we paid an appropriate price for it, but we wish we could have afforded better paint.

We used the special deal coupon to have our living room/dining room/hallway painted. Stuart was very responsive to providing the bid. Did the job on time as planned and we are happy with the results. Very friendly to deal with.

Stuart and his crew were excellent. I used an off-season Angie's List coupon for 2 painters for 1 day for $399. Even though I waited until the last minute (when Stuart's painting season picks up in the spring), Stuart honored my coupon and came for the estimate promptly. He listened to what I wanted and needed, helped me formulate a project plan, and explained about the different products and options. I was in the midst of a DIY project in my powder room, and Stuart gave me some great instruction concerning the products best for replacing the wall texture over spackle repairs and other helpful advice on applying the products most effectively. He told me that his crew would give me that same service and quality, and work as quickly, as they would for a non-discounted job, and they did. They essentially painted three rooms with 20 and 15 foot cathedral ceilings. They prepared the walls, filling in holes, nicks, and other imperfections. They worked efficiently and did excellent work. It made the house look new. With one hour left, John asked if I wanted him to attack the 15th foot cathedral ceiling of my dining room just because they had some extra time. (I declined because I did not have the paint yet). Great communication, totally professional, cleaned up beautifully, and very kind and helpful service. I couldn't be happier and highly, highly recommend Stuart and Summit Painting. I will definitely use them again.

It was a great experience, they did exactly what I wanted them to. Everything looks great.

They came out when they said they would for the bid then answered emailed questions promptly over the next couple of days. They called one week prior to the scheduled start date to review the color and finishes to be sure those were all correct so that they could order the paint. They showed up exactly on time on the start date and did a beautiful job. Everything was exactly as expected; on time and on budget. This was a fairly small interior job but we expect to have them back for the exterior. I highly recommend them.

It went very smoothly. We will be hiring this company to paint the exterior of our house. He would use him again for any future painting needs we have. I have already given his business card to several neighbors.

We are going to bring the guy back to do some more painting because he was really good. He did a really good job. He came when he was supposed to. He got right to work. He cleaned up all the stuff and we wouldn't have even known he was here. I thought the price was good.

We got three bids to paint the interior of the house and Summit came in the middle with pricing. We decided to go with them because they are a young company and they said that they ?always stand behind my work?. The work was done and the quality was decent but when we asked them to come back for touch-ups they refused and were very unprofessional. Quote "... u can touch that up. Im sorry but thats ridiculous for the price u paid. Get real?. I was shocked by the unprofessional manner and communication. I find it very hard to recommend them.

They painted my front room with the skill and ease of true professionals. And conducted themselves as such. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thank you kindly gentlemen!! My room looks awesome!!

He came out to see what needed to be done, then came with an assistant the next week. I already had the paint but he noticed that one can was different - so I took it back and got the right paint in time for the job. He was efficient, quick and cleaned up thoroughly. The house looks so nice!!!

Stuart dropped in a week before the scheduled painting to obtain our color selections, examine the jobsite and estimate the amount of paint needed. He was able to patch several larger-than-average holes while he was checking things out. At our request, he coached us on things we could do to prepare the work area and ensure that the painters were able to spend the maximum time painting. We removed electrical box covers, lowered light fixtures, removed wall hangings, pictures, mirrors, draperies and hanging hardware. When Stuart and John arrived, they only found it necessary to fill and texture a few more holes and then launch into the painting. They worked quickly, precisely and efficiently together. Each room got two coats on the ceiling and two coats on the walls as they moved from room to room allowing for drying time and changing colors back and forth. In our own minds we were guessing how much could be done in a day and how much my wife and I would have to do ourselves. We couldn't believe that they finished everything we had put on our priority list, were cleaned up and headed home early.

They did a nice job, were very communicative, on time, on estimate and a pleasure to have in our house for 3 days. They painted quite a bit of mill work with the appropriate prep work as well as high ceilings, halls, the kitchen and the family room. I could not be more pleased.

I thought the service went great. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and in the time frame that was alloted. Nice guys and great work!

They did a good job and I got done what would be expected for the amount I paid. They finished a hallway ceiling, three hallway walls, stairway wall and 75% of two bedrooms. One paint was darker and required multiple coats which delayed them a little bit. The above is what my normal painter does in a day but at a higher rate so the cost per room was about right. Overall the deal was a good value and the job they did was good quality. The owner was great to deal with and showed up on time for the quote.

They were easily reached and came to the site within the week to review the job. They were very up front about the amount of time it would take and that it would not take the whole 8 hours of the deal which was fine with us as long as the work was done well. On the day of the service, they arrived on time. They were fast and efficient but did an excellent job and we were very pleased with the outcome. When they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and did not leave a mess. It was a job well done and I will have them out to do further work in the future.

They arrived on time, and got right to work covering the floors, prepping the walls, and taping things off. We had removed some shelves in the laundry room. Stuart had to spackle and texture the wall...it turned out great! They gave everything 2 coats of paint. It was a very professional job done by a very nice crew!

They were awesome. VERY hard working, thorough, and outstanding workmanship quality. Had some great tips on color usage as well.

Stuart and his assistant, John, arrived on time, treated everything very carefully and helped me get 3 large paintings off the walls. (They set to work during one of our heaviest rain storms, too!) Stuart paints with a minimum of fuss and little in the way of the traditional drop cloths. I learned a lot from him about new methods of painting that are efficient and time saving. Two coats of paint were applied to my hall-like entry way and living room. They arrived at 9 in the morning and were ready to leave after doing a super job in the mid afternoon. They also helped me hang some items while they had their ladder in the house! I am very appreciative of their work and have absolutely no complaints! I recommend them to anyone needing painters and will use them again.

Stuart seemed like a nice enough guy when he showed up to give us the estimate, but he insisted we put it on his schedule before we were sure we would pick him. A week later I let him know I needed to get off his schedule and he turned really mean. He sent me insulting emails saying that my husband was swearing at him and that he didn't want the job anyway. Very petty and unprofessional! I was shocked at his response, and if he treats potential customers like this, I can't even imagine how he must act when someone has a problem with his work. Added 12/3/12 - In response to my original review I received another insulting and belligerent email from Stuart, where he literally called me a liar, etc. I got Angie's List customer support involved as I didn't think it was right to be attacked for leaving a review which is part of the whole Angie's List process. I got this in response: "Service providers never want to see a negative review about their service quality, but most take those reviews as a guide to improve. Many providers with negative reviews will work to repair their rating by addressing the member's concerns." Clearly that doesn't seem to be Stuart's policy, so I would really urge anyone considering using this company to be very sure that you are ready to handle the poor customer support that might come if you have any problems with them. Caveat emptor!

Stuart responded to our queries very professionally, and provided us with a competitive quote. He took the time to explain the work his team would do, based on the particular characteristics of our house, and also described the various recommended paint types to be used. His team was punctual and the work was done on-time and very high quality, and all materials were cleared when the job was completed. Stuart was frequently on hand to monitor the work throughout, as well as to provide a review of the completed job and ensure our satisfaction. We only had one minor touch up needed on an exterior shed, and Stuart attended to that personally right away. Overall we are very satisfied.

Stuart and John were Fantastic! Stuart calculated the amount of paint and what kind of paint to use. He matched the color perfectly. They did a superb job on all the painting. They managed to complete this project in two days. They knew exactly what to do regarding the execution of painting all aspects of project. Many high ceilings, walls and coverage of original color. They are the most knowlegable, courteous, and friendly contractors I have ever experienced. Stuart knows the elements of paint composition, among many other aspects to painting, techniques, application, and effeciency in completing projects. I will be using Stuart and company exclusivley. If you have to wait for Summit to paint, wait. It's worth the experience. Note to Angie: Give these boys their deserved M&Ms! Thanks Guys!

Everything with this company went so very well, from begining through the job's finish.

We are very happy with the work that Summit Painting did. Stuart gave us a very fair estimate but what impressed us the most was that he would be on the job throughout. The project started on time and stayed on schedule. Stuart and crew were very thorough in prepping the house and even fixed a broken shutter. Once painting started, the the job moved very fast and the work was impeccable. Any questions or adjustments were addressed immediately by Stuart. There were no hidden costs and final bill stayed true to estimate. We love the final product!
