I would give North Creek Roofing an "A+" rating on everything. They were very professional, very polite, and very accommodating. Their service was excellent. They put a beautiful roof on the house and they did it in a good time.

I called for a quote on a repair for a torch down roof and was given respect, and complete attention. Although North Creek doesn't work on torch down roofs I was given quality referrals to companies that could help me. The woman on the phone was more that happy to make sure I got a reasonable quote and quality work. She even offered to "do a little more digging" if her original recommendations didn't work out. I highly recommend working with the company just for their professional and friendly attitude.

I solicited bids from 3 or 4 different companies on Angie's list, and decided to go with North Creek because their price and service seemed most in sync. Some companies offered cheaper roofs, but didn't seem as concerned about details. Other companies tried to sell me on the fanciest and most expensive packages. I thought Scott, the saleman, was a straight shooter and he was willing to work with me to find a price that worked for my budget. This work was for a rental property so I wasn't too concerned about aesthetics. I was more concerned about price, the quality of the installation, and the warranty that came with the work. Considering all of those things, North Creek was definitely the best choice. I can't give them an A rating because the final cost came in $3000 over the initial estimate. That said, if I could, I'd give them a A-/B+ rating for how thoughtfully and thoroughly they addressed my concerns and frustrations. Basically, the unforeseen costs were an additional layer of roofing needing to be ripped off (extra $500), and 80+ sheets of plywood needing to be replaced because of warping. In every roofing contract, there should be a specific price for each sheet of plywood that needs to be replaced. In my contract is was $40/sheet. Scott told me he wasn't too concerned about the soundness of the roof, so I wasn't expecting more than 10-15 sheets (weak spots) needing to be replaced. I was shocked when John, the foreman, called to say that actually the number was more than 80 sheets. After a few emails and phone conversations, they came down a bit on the price ($35/sheet) for which I was very grateful, but I hadn't budgeted for that extra amount, which made it tough for me. My only recommendation for doing business with North Creek, or any other roofing company for that matter, is make sure you talk about the worst case scenarios and negotiate those costs in advance. Legally they didn't have to come down on their price because I'd already signed the contract, so I am grateful for their flexibility and willingness to work with me. I just wish they had done a better job assessing the condition of the roof ahead of time because I would have budgeted accordingly, even delaying a month or two in order to save up a bit more. I know you can't see what's underneath the old roof, but based on years of experience, I would have thought they could have more accurately assessed the likelihood of needing such a large scale replacement. I don't believe they negotiated in bad faith, and I was very happy with the quality of their work and attention to detail. I would happily work with them again. I'd just be a little bit more savvy during the negotiation process.

They were courteous, prompt, and professional in re-doing my mother's roof and gutters. They worked around her schedule nicely, came in on time and on budget, and were very organized throughout the whole process. She was particularly impressed with the way they staged the materials, and with their clean-up of the job site. Her one complaint was that she wished the guy she spoke to on the phone had put in an appearance at some point, but I guess the results show he didn't need to check up on his crew. The sub they sent to do the gutters was great, and even ran a magnet over the driveway to pick up errant nails- and when he noticed that dust from the job had gotten on her car, he grabbed the hose and rinsed it off. Well done, Gentlemen!

I'm writing this review nine months after the roof installation, because I wanted to be sure the roof itself was performing through all climate conditions. What follows are comments derived from notes I took at the time of the installation. All interactions with the office regarding scheduling, billing and contract issues were smooth. Estimator Josh was outstanding; of the six companies that looked at the roof, his estimate was the most detailed and informative. Everything was looking good... until the job actually got started. Here are explanations for the three negative ratings: Responsiveness = C = FairLike many of the larger roofing companies, North Creek is running multiple crews. Each crew in the field has a foreman who is also one of the laborers. In addition, there is a project manager who roams from job site to job site to check progress and solve problems. This structure can actually lead to problems because it is the foreman who controls the crew, leaving the project manager somewhat powerless to effect change, as will be evidenced by comments below. Punctuality = C = FairThe job got off to a bad start on day one when the dumpster drop and materials delivery was totally screwed up. The crew sat in the van all morning unable to work. Then, when the materials arrived prior to 1:00pm, the crew had left, disregarding the project manager's request to stay, because they didn't want to work half a day. Apparently this way the foreman didn't have to pay his crew for ANY part of the day, meaning that the company's internal economics took precedence over actually getting the job done. The crew arrived mid-morning on day two, well past the time when available light and neighborhood noise considerations would have allowed work to begin. It quickly became clear that the crew was interested in doing the job in the least number of hours humanly possible, which did not inspire my confidence. Once they started the tear-off, the work proceeded at a frantic pace. Within half an hour they had broken an exterior flood light, knocking it completely off the side of the house. In addition, they failed to properly cover and protect our extensive landscaping, which was a specific, written stipulation of the contract that I had called out. (The project manager replaced the light, and somewhat cleaned up the landscaping at the project's completion.) Professionalism = F = LousyThis is about SAFETY. On multiple occasions each day I witnessed each member of the crew working at various times without a safety harness. I repeatedly expressed my concern about this to the project manager, who would in turn tell the crew to shape up. And as soon as the project manager would leave they would be doing it all over again. This was a total disregard for safety, especially while working on the steep slopes of my roof. I don't care whether a company has the world's best insurance policy or not; if someone falls and is injured or killed as result of preventable safety violations, that will haunt every person involved for the rest of their lives. Just the thought of it caused me considerable anxiety and lost sleep the week of the install. In closing...For the record, I also received bids from A Better Roofing, Sound Roofing Systems, Mountain Goat Roofing, Element Smart Roofing, and Mike's Roofing; you can look at my reviews of those companies for further comment. North Creek and Mountain Goat were very competitive on cost, quality and perceived reliability. I chose North Creek because they promised to have me on the calendar two weeks sooner than Mountain Goat. In the end, they didn't, and I wished I had selected Mountain Goat because I doubt the above-mentioned problems would have occurred with an owner-led crew on the roof. Bottom line: after nine months it appears that I received a high quality roof, properly installed, and at a reasonable price, but it was not worth the anxiety caused by the company's disregard for safety.

At this point the repair appears to be solid. The problem has been ongoing, with several attempts of previous repair work, including services recommended by the manufacturer of the roofing material (membrane). The previous attempts had high hopes but were failures and it appears the problems probably dated back to the original installation. North Creek Roofing was knowledgeable and professional. The assessment of the problems and repair appear to be spot-on, which is an incredible relief since the situation has seemed like an ongoing and difficult nightmare. There have been periods of heavy rain and all appears well.

I had talked to their estimator three years ago and decided recently to go through with it. I contacted the estimator, he still worked for the company and all the workers still worked there as well. I called him up, he came right out and told me the estimate actually came down 1000 dollars. They started about three months later (due to weather) they were here when they said, they worked from dawn to dusk practically. The work looks really good. Even the neighbors say it looks very nice. The estimate was spot on. I was happy with the final bill and all the work done. I would recommend them to others.

I had mentioned that we also had a leak I wanted him to look at, but this didn't get across, so now I am having him back to try to find the reason for the leak and fix it. They will have to remove some of the roofing and find the problem, I think. I called Chris on his cell phone and he is coming out right away.

We interviewed 6-7 roofing contractors for this job. North Creek was not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. We picked them because of the attention to detail in their itemization of the job description. We had them come back twice, due to our own ignorance, and they showed up promptly and did some more work for free for us. They were very efficient and the work is top notch. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a roofing job done efficiently, quickly, and correctly.

The same day I called North Creek Roofing, Josh came to my house without my being there, did a complete evaluation, with pictures and drawings and approximate estimate and left them on my porch. This was a very different approach than the other roofers I had requested estimates from. All others were more expensive and were not willing to give me an evaluation until I met personally with them. Josh worked with me very closely giving me addresses of possible roof choices, installations and colors. I wanted a very particular look and color scheme that would go best with gray, black and brown and look more like shake. He personally came over and found the exact roof in my neighborhood and called me. Once the choice was made he sent me all paperwork & permits and the date was set. When they dropped the box, they set it so I could park in my garage at night while they worked. They followed the exact time line they set and finished on tome. When the job was complete, everything was done, and cleaned up to absolute perfection. The roof looks exactly like I wanted it to. I get many compliments and nearly 2 yrs later it still looks perfect and the gutter adaptations have worked precisely as needed. I could not be happier. I never met Josh personally through the process but it never hindered anything. I did meet other co-workers as I picked out samples etc, all extremely professional and helpful. Josh made everything work to my schedule. He, his entire company and my roofing experience were a most professional contracting experience. I highly recommend North Creek Roofing and Josh.

They are an excellent company. The reason that we chose them was because they were on Angie’s List. We had a very good experience with them.

Our overall experience was very good. We had used them before for a roof repair, and so asked for an estimate when it was time to redo the roof. Their initial bid was higher than another company, and a bit more than we had hoped to spend, so we asked if they could match the other bid. They were able to do so by using some overstock product that matched what we wanted to install. The install went very well except for one problem on the first day: the crew did not cover our front deck and when they started throwing old shingles down into the dumpster, some tiles went wide and damaged the deck railing. As soon as I alerted the foreman, he got everything covered up and the crew got back to work. The rest of the job went smoothly. I was a bit disappointed that the deck wasn't covered at the start of the job (something that was explicitly noted in their initial estimate), but the North Creek team was responsive and made a good faith effort to repair the damaged railing, so I feel good about the work they did overall.

They did an excellent job. The work was good and at a great price. The owner and the workers were outstanding. They had great communication. I would use them again in the future.

These guys did a great job. Their estimate was thorough and detailed. They gave a competive quote with all the option. The install went well with no complications. They did a good job with the clean up. All the employees were professional and nice. My only complaint is that I did not get the warning about potential falling debris until the evening after they started. My poor dog was in the garage getting pletted with material from above.

We had a leak in our roof around where the plumbing stack exited through the roof. I'd try to patch myself a few times but would never quite hold sufficiently. Called North Creek and they came out the same afternoon and provided a quote. It was a fair price and they promised to ensure the leak was repaired as it is never quite clear until the shingles are removed to see the precise location and any other damage. They came out the next week when the weather broke (needed to fix while not raining). They replaced the flashing around the stack and put down new shingles around the repaired area and now there are no more leaks and we've been through some fairly good downpours so I'm confident the issue is resolved.

Chris came out and gave us an estimate to repair a leak in the roof near the chimney. He also recommended some additional flashing work to be done in the summer and referred us to another contractor for that repair. The weather was incredibly unpredictable, and Chris had to postpone the work several times due to rain. But he called every day to check in and let us know when they would try to come out. I really appreciated the frequent communication. When they were able to complete the work, the crew did so in a professional, timely manner and cleaned up every speck of debris. They even swept the front porch! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend North Creek Roofing, and plan to call on them again when the time comes to replace our roof.

Chris made a preliminary visit and gave me an estimate. He was prompt and professional. I was working with my insurance company at the time. Chris came and showed him the area, he was there to do estimate and said he could do the work right then so I said yes, he installed flashing and cleaned off roof debris while up there - very friendly and was great to get done so quickly.

North Creek did an outstanding job. I got bids from several other roofers and they were the most competitively priced. They were very professional and followed through on everything they said they would do. John Frazier the Production Manager was a pleasure to work with.

Initial contact with North Creek Roofing was made the next day after my request for bid was submitted. Within days, Josh (the company's estimator) was on site taking pictures. Once he realized this was a "nonstandard" roofing job, he brought his project manager John out for an inspection. Multiple communications (and liberal documentation) then ensued to make sure that they understood the project as I had envisioned it. Even the smallest detail was discussed including the type of roofing material, the differences between membranes, color options and challenging obstacles that would need to be fixed once the roof construction began. This included rerouting vents from the neighboring house, and properly accounting for slope angles of the new roof to be constructed. They built a "Cricket" on-site that would alter the roof line and redirect water away from my neighbor's wall, and they resized the existing scuppers to accommodate the increased flow. John, the project manager called me every day in the afternoon to discuss the days progress and the challenges that lay ahead. We were amply warned of noise that would occur during construction including vibrations that might damage delicate objects on the wall. All of the project workman from the manager and estimator on down to the cleanup crew were courteous, conscientious and detail oriented. Outside Contractors called in for repairs of a water damaged window demonstrated the same high-caliber of workmanship and professionalism. At the end of the project the yard looked cleaner than when they had started. Incredibly, the manager even came over to touch up my neighbor's wall after the project had been completed, to make sure everything was perfect. All the goals of the project had been met except for the chimney that still needs to be extended. The size of the chimney piping required special order. Overall, the workmanship has exceeded even my high expectations.

Our initial contact with North Creek Roofing was for an estimate. They got back to us in a timely manner and were cordial. As it turned out the estimate was right on target. Getting to our job was in a timely manner. The work was done the way we expected it to be. The staff were professional and friendly. Overall, it was an excellent experience in roof repair! We are very satisfied with North Creek Roofing.
