Mill Creek Landscapes

I was so nervous about signing with a contractor because of my incurably high expectations, but I had the sense from the beginning that Nick would care as much about the details as I do. We already had a design from a landscape architect but Nick was able to adjust our rough plans to be even more precise and suitable for the space. His crew was equally conscientious. At least three separate times, Tony asked for my opinion on what he had started building, and when I said, “How about this way instead?” he graciously took the more time-consuming route to ensure all of his meticulous stone work made me smile. We could not be happier with our new space! Get on their schedule as soon as you can, because I'm telling all my neighbors!

It was through Angie's List. They were here on time, did an excellent job, charged what they said they would charge, cleaned up and left. They did a nice job. I would highly recommend them.

The description of services provided lists thatching and aerating of the lawn. I sent an email requesting an estimate on aerating my front lawn. They emailed back saying they do not provide those services. It would help if they would not list a service they do not provide.

Have a broken cement wall and staircase leading from the lower backyard of our lot to main level of house and patio. Wall has several cracks in it that are stable, but not attractive. Called Nick to explore options, including building a planter box out of engineered blocks to basically hide the cracks in the concrete wall behind. Nick was very responsive to my calls, including being willing to alter his schedule around other contractors we had coming to the home the same day. He provided excellent advice and suggested alternative ideas which would have been very attractive and appropriate if we were staying in the home. Our goal was to improve the appearanc e for sale, without spending more money than we could expect the improvements to return. Nick, very honestly, advised against doing the work as he did not believe it would fully return the investment. He made several suggestions of things we could do on our own to address the problem. I would absolutely use Nick and his business again in the future when we have another project.

Everything went pretty well and the job was completed in a timely manner. There were 2 young guys, Jacob and Vinnie, who were working on pulling up the weeds, as well as installing plants, laying gravel, and laying black bark. They did an excellent job! Both were very hard workers and very concerned with doing a fine job. If I had any questions/concerns during the process, they were very attentive and helpful. Also, they cleaned up very well after themselves. Overall, we were very satisfied with the job; however, I would like to mention that it is important to get everything in writing. We had talked about putting some type of border to separate the gravel from the black bark (only about 20 feet total) in our back garden bed and this did not get done. I remember talking about it with Mill Creek Landscapes; however, I was told that they didn't remember discussing it, so, it did not get completed. So, I suggest getting everything that you want completed (as little as it may be) in writing on the contract/proposal. Also, there was some discrepancy about a 5% Off For Angie's List Member Coupon for Mill Creek Landscapes. I printed it out from the Angie's List website and asked Mill Creek Landscapes if it would be honored and it was not, so, this was very disappointing. Mill Creek Landscape staff were very nice to work with and I would highly recommend them for any of your outdoor projects. I would like to also mention that the plants they procured were beautiful and in excellent health! Upon completion of the job, they presented me with a plant care instruction sheet, which I thought was very good to have. Also, they said if these instructions were followed by the client and any plant(s) die within one year of the project completion, they would replace the plant(s) at no cost to the client.

They did a good job. I think that you need to keep up with them, and make sure they do what you want them to do. He didn't do one thing I asked him to do. They were pretty responsive, and came out pretty quick after I told them that I need them to do some work. They came out on time.

They did a very nice job. A young guy named Nick is running the company. He's got some good people working for him. They take a lot of pride in their work. I haven't used them before so it was kind of a bit of an experimental field. I looked at some of their other work. We came to an agreement on payment schedules. They did a great job. I was pretty happy with it. We had one little glitch during the project which I caught right away and they made an adjustment. It turned out great. It had something to do with the height of the steps on the porch. It was within code but we wanted shallower steps because we have older people coming up. We didn't have any issues with the work since it was provided. The price was fair. They kept me very well-informed.

It was great. They got what they wanted. Because they got it, they got the job done. It was completely cleaned up and done in a timely fashion. They were there everyday they said they were going to be there. They were very professional.

Job went amazingly well from when we did the first walk through, all the way to the end.

Absolutely fantastic work. On time, on budget, and built as agreed. The final product exceeded our expectations!

the owner came out and introduced me to one of the workers and explained the work to be done. This worker worked hard all day long. A second worker showed up about a hour later and had to be shown again what needed to be done causing a delay. Weeding of the front yard was spotty and I removed several weeds that would have otherwise just been mulched over. The pruning was hit or miss. The two sculpted trees were fairly well done with the other plants left chopped off. The second worker left a lot of areas undone. There was a lot of excess mulch and topsoil so finished most of the weeding and then spread some of the remaining mulch. The driveway was cleaned up and then the one worker left without a walk through. The owner didn't do a walk through either. Just got a bill. Next time if I use this company again I would make sure that the materials on the truck were either used or credit would be given. I did get a partial credit, but should have been understood between myself and the owner before they considered the job finished. Also would insist on a walk through of the job to make sure all expectations were met on both sides.

Well, the first attempt at the job was not what we wanted, but when we communicated the problems they were taken of and the job was completed satisfactoriallly.

We have a large garden but it was overgrown and the space wasn't utilized - we had a couple of old storage sheds in awkward places and a rotting old deck. We hired a landscape designer to make a plan, and he recommended Mill Creek Landscapes to do the work. We got bids in from four different companies. Mill Creek Landscapes were the most expensive, but we decided to use them because Nick is very obviously passionate about what he does and we were happy to know he would be doing all the hardscaping himself, as well as being on site for the majority of the project. We ran into a problem almost immediately when work began - the gas mainline running to our house was too shallow, only 8 inches under the surface, so we had to wait for PSE to reroute it. This took almost three weeks and during that time Nick would check in, keeping the communications open, which meant that he was able to start back on our project as soon as PSE finished. Nick is very professional. His team wear uniforms, are respectful, hard-working and clean up at the end of every day. Nick would regularly have me walk around and ask my opinion, constantly making sure we were happy with the progress. It has been almost 3 months since Nick completed our yard and we're very happy with the results. We just had him out again last week to replace a few plants that didn't make it and put in our final tree (it was too dry in July to plant it). We've been able to have friends over and entertain like never before - we really enjoy our patio space. I will post pictures soon.

Nick was a great help in designing the work and worked with us to make the best selections to complement the house... even when my wife kept asking to see more samples and colors. We selected the design and then the work came. The crew was professional, considerate, and very good at their work. They completed the work early and within the budget. Everything looked great. I would highly recommend this company.
