We would absolutely hire Arnott again. They are an experienced, solid, family-based company that provides quality work at a fair price -- and they are a real pleasure to work with. I solicited three bids. Arnott was the middle bidder, but we chose them because I could see that I would be working with someone who truly cared about the outcome of the project. We are very detail-oriented people, so that was important! (A note to others - John (the lead) will not try to undercut a bid just to try to get a job. He wants you to have a realistic idea of what the project will cost. We have had experience with others that try to pass off a bare bones estimate in hopes of being the lowest bidder and getting work.)
I think two of the best parts about working with John are his accessibility/communication and positive attitude. He is easy to reach by cell, email, or text message and incredibly responsive. And, it is obvious that John, Bruce, and Anna all share the same goal - to make sure you are satisfied with their work. We've worked with other contractors that put a higher priority on their own schedules and ideas of what constituted "acceptable." John is also very flexible - we wanted to do a little materials purchasing on our own and bring in our own tile installer and painter. He just rolled with everything and even helped bail me out when the paint job didn't turn out the way I wanted!
The bathroom turned out beautifully and we are really happy with it.

Arnott Construction did a great job. Their bid was very fair. The reason we went with them is John, his father, and his whole crew stayed an entire hour building a plan for the job. Out of 7 contractors, he was the only one to bring the entire crew onsite to "interview" They completed the work on time with high quality. I felt his team was very professional, especially Mike who did the drywall for 4 days straight. He worked long hours to get the job done so that we could move in on time. We plan on consulting Arnott construction for future projects.

I would give him top grades. I've used him several times and he has done really good stuff for me. He knows what he is doing and he doesn't waste time. He completes a job and he does it right. It is a really pleasant company to work with. I would absolutely use them again.

I am very happy with the work done by Arnott Construction. The job was fairly small, as remodels go, but the process took several days, as various parts had to dry before the next steps could be done. Anna did most of the work - she was great! Very friendly and professional. John and their father also worked on the repair. A new piece of drywall was cut to fit the opening in the ceiling, 2 x 4's were screwed in so the drywall could be anchored to them, then a coat of mud went on to seal/hide the seams. The mud dried overnight, and the next day, Anna came and put on a second coat of mud. The third day, she and John sanded the mud, then sprayed on texturing material and smoothed that to exactly match the same textured surface on the rest of the ceiling and walls. Then the ceiling was painted. End result? I can't tell there was ever a 3' x 4' "hole" in my ceiling - the seaming, texturing and painting were that well done.

Working with Bruce is great. Their work ethic is top notch. They never waste time or materials, and
when there is a possible problem they discuss it with options for solutions. I feel secure that he has
checked out other areas and let me know if anything needs attention that might be serious . They were careful
with the shrubbery even though some of it was quite large and hard to work around. They trimmed it where it
was necessary, and did it to work with the growth pattern of each plant. The clean up was thorough, and all the debris
taken away so that when the crew left, my house and yard were ready for the 4th of July party. Even though
Arnott Construction usually does much bigger jobs, they did this one with as much care as they give major construction.
The remodeling they did for me a year ago still looks great and works really well.

Arnott Construction Co. worked with a plan from Walker Architects and made our home more accesible, more attractive and warmer. They came on schedule, were skilled at what they did, and did not waste time. Bruce made good recommendations for doors, brought plenty of samples for floors and counter tops and was innovative in solving problems. He knew the costs of everything and was careful about the budget. They made every effort to keep the house as clean as possible. ( There is no getting around dust from wallboard!) We are happy with the results. I liked having them in my home and plan to use them for exterior painting in the spring.
