PK Electric

I called PK and entered in my information to set up an account with them, so they could do work at another location for me. I asked the renter to call PK to schedule an appointment which was very easy to do. The electrician came out and fixed a loose connection. The same thing happened again the next day and PK called me first to say "this is actually a very simple thing that we are happy to explain to her over the phone, but she has requested another service call. We thought we'd let you know and allow you to make a choice about whether you wanted us to go out again." I thought this was very considerate to both parties, and said yes, to go out again, and all issues were resolved. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional and I would hire them again.

The initial bid was incomplete, though I was impressed when I called them and they offered to come back to reassess the work and provide a complete bid. Once I accepted the bid, 2 workers worked to complete the job. I was happy with most of the work performed but was slightly annoyed at a couple mis-drills. Specifically, at 2 different locations where wires were run from the crawlspace below the house into the interior wall, the wall's floor stud was drilled through its edge instead of the center. Overall, however, I was happy with the efforts put forth and the final outcome.

David's work went well. The appraiser who was sent out, Ed, was early and very friendly. We went through the basement, and he suggested can lights and a whole new circuit in one area of our basement. He wrote up a bid, which was almost $3,000.00 for all of the basement work, but the original work which we had done was only $303.00. We plan on using them again for moving the dryer outlet, but plan on getting a few more bids for the rest of the basement. We feel they might have been a bit high there, and we're not in a hurry for it.

The guys that came out did a great job, he was very friendly. they didn't leave a mess, they were very courteous and prompt.

They showed up on time and were very flexible with their scheduling to avoid charging me a traveling fee. They worked to save me money and they were very professional. There were two workers and they were very courteous. They took the time to explain in detail what they were going to do and kept me updated throughout the process. After the work was completed they cleaned up. I was very satisfied overall.

Travis was able to come to my house immediately after I smelled smoke. He was able to locate the receptacle that was shorting out. That was outside. He was clean and respected my home. He cleaned up after himself and he was pleasant.

They were very good and very fast. They gave me a good deal. They arrived when they said they would. The price was good.

They are excellent. They are easy to work with, responsive, they come on time, and it's been great working with them.

Well, the price was a shock. So we had a conversation because they doubled the value of the quote compared to a vendor we used two years ago. They forgot to wire the lights to a control system. I have concerns with the work but it could end up being fine. I am a little bit concerned about, they didn't seem like the have worked with this type of wiring. It showed a lack of detail and preparation in my opinion.

Very professional. They always do a great job and they are always available. I will always call them in the future.

I was very impressed. I called them and they were here within the hour. They were wonderful to work with.

They were quick and quiet but would not take on the job of putting in recessed lights. I was not very pleased with their work ethics or attitude. Would not use them again.

I needed a new dedicated circuit in the kitchen. When I called I said it might be difficult because our house was old and might not have the capacity for more circuits. The owner came by within a day and reviewed our power situation. He said the current service should be upgraded to 200 amps which would mean a new service and much more work than expected. But he said they could add a circuit for the new appliance. A fixed bid for a quick fix to the kitchen need and a bid for a new service came within two days. ($500 and $5,000). We called and accepted the proposal for the one item, expecting to add the new service when doing a major kitchen remodel. The work was scheduled for the same week and two electricians (one and a helper) arrived exactly when scheduled. They ran wiring from the box and routed it via the attic to the kitchen. When adding the modified circuit for the refrigerator they made the error of cutting into a wall with a pocket door -- after I had earlier pointed out its location so that they would not make the error. Seemed that the helper electrician did not pass on the information. Lathe and plaster from the cut jammed the pocket door, but with some luck they were able to clear it. They covered the hole with a flat plate, but it is not in a critical area so the fix was ok. The outlet for the built-in oven turned out to be too low. The appliance installers said they would move it, and said the electrician really should have known where it should have been installed. A couple of days after the installation we could no longer use one of the outdoor circuits for a smoker -- it blew after only a few minutes. So fixing a kitchen issue seems to now have created a different problem. I roughly totaled the total amps needed by the house and the 100 amp service, if correctly used, should actually handle our peak loads without causing problems. Of course, a new $5,000 200 amp service would be best, but I believe that some better re-work of what we have would have given us a reasonable solution. The electricians who came did not spend much time analyzing our problem (perhaps 5 minutes). They were very polite and cleaned up. Seems like a good company. I think they tried to quickly accommodate my needs and in the rush made some errors.

It was very easy. I called them up, made the appointment and my neighbor let them in. I never saw them.

I live in a 1920s house with many needs, so it wasn't a given for me to spend this amount on an appearance matter. But I heard from several different people visiting my house that lighting would make such a huge difference for the amount of money it would cost--and I needed to have the plaster ceilings repaired already anyway--so I decided this was the time. The electricians and Andy were good with suggestions, and a good thing too, as it gets rather complicated. Two electricians were here for most of two days to do the work. They were considerate, and careful when cutting the holes in the plaster. The results are great now (in July), and I know I'll enjoy it even more when it's darker in the winter.

They were great. I was very impressed with them. They were clean. The office person was amazing as well and so nice.

He was really nice. I would have chosen them, but didn't since I didn't have a written estimate in hand. He was kind and conscientious. He was really good at the pricing.

No response is better than getting a response and having a bad experience, so thank you for that.

We had a good experience with PK Electric. Donnie, who came out to give us our estimate was very personable and professional. He took a lot of care to explain things to me and really listen to what I needed. John who came to do the work was also a very nice person to deal with and really took care to do the work well. When I realized we could get a 10% discount with our Angie's List Membership after the bill had already been sent out, I contacted Michelle and she sent another copy of the bill with the 10% discount! We will use PK Electric in the future.

Andy Toth came to look at the house and our requests, the panel etc. He told me what needed to be replaced, made right and what we could leave as is. I was unsure if the panel would be large enough to handle what we wanted to add but we were also eliminating some items so he was sure that we would be able to achieve our end goals with the amount of space there. We scheduled Eugene to start the day after we closed on the property and he worked diligently and methodically through the list. In our final effort to label the panel we uncovered that someone had previously done some wiring that was dangerous in the house relating to the wiring for the dryer. I asked him to make that right and he did. Fortunately it didn't take too long and I was billed fairly for that. After the work was done I found the minor damage to the deck and called PK and they were very excellent in taking care of that for us. They also worked with us in the billing as the actual work varied a bit from the original bid/plan. Overall I was very impressed with the company and attitude of the actual electrician. I would/will use them for other projects I have in mind for the house already.

The person that came was great. It was an average price, but they did honor the Angie's List discount.

Felt they did a solid job; they completed the work in a timely and efficient manner. We were happy with their service but unhappy they don't accept credit cards and suggest they consider making that convenience service available to customers.

I was given a rough estimate of time and associated hourly rate when I scheduled the appointment to have the work done. John and Brendan were prompt and professional in their work, arriving ahead of schedule, with the appropriate materials and personnel. They worked with me to locate the receptacles and were careful to properly align them. I would recommend them to my friends.

It went very well. It took a little longer than they estimated but they held the price quote which was very nice. I really like the crews that they sent out, they were personally great people. They worked hard and showed up on time.
