Loved there fnshed work. Had fifteen yards of concrete patio and a block wall bulit. They not only did great job but they spent the time doing it right. Not one crack in the concrete. They took care of dranige issues I did not even think of. Had a buddy go with a diffrent compney at the same time and his 10 yard patio is all cracked up. If you want it done right then go with Universal Landscaping.

Randy and team did an excellent job on our walkway. They were prompt, stayed in close communication, and were ready to go when the weather allowed. Our walkway looks fantastic and is safe which was our primary concern. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend!

Randy, from Universal Landscape, arrived when he said he would and finished the job a day earlier than planned. Work went like clockwork. Cleaned up nicely after each day and when job was completed. My wife and I were extremely impressed with their work and professionalism. Also, Randy was able to bring cost in below original estimate.

Excellent. We worked with Randy to design the landscaping, then he and his crew added about 3/4 acre of landscaping, including a sprinkler system, edged garden paths, trees, shrubberies, gardens... and a reasonable sized lawn... oh and a granite waterfall/bubbler... its awesome. Randy and his crew were very polite and friendly. I will be calling them back to do the remaining portion of my yard one day...

Randy Metz at Universal Landscaping Corporation did an amazing job. I needed someone to design and landscape our new upper end home on a hilly and barren one acre. I am critical and not new to home landscaping projects, and could not be more pleased. The one acre project involved the total design which included placing of six-man boulders and cobblestone river bed, tree and scrub selection and plantings, professional grade irrigation and lighting systems. He is very good at design, and has experience and talent in selecting native plants and trees. All the team are hard working, on time and efficient and great to work with. The project went smoothly from start to finish. Glad we selected them, I would recommend them most highly and without reservation.

Randy and crew were awesome! They overcame every obstacle at a fair price, including removal of dozens of buried stumps and changes we asked for during the project. Randy was incredibly responsive, gave daily updates and had all work done very quickly...and most importantly, they job they did was outstanding! We were so impressed with the quality of work and pricing, we are going to get a quote from them for our paver patio, which we had planned on doing ourselves.
Description of Work: We had an incredibly uneven backyard...lots of mounds, holes, etc. The plan was to remove and dispose of 60+ yards of soil/rock, build a 3 ft tall x 60 ft long retaining wall, prep for a 500 sq ft paver patio and add 20 yards of black soil for seed for a lawn.

I reached out to 5 businesses on Angie's list for quotes and Universal Landscape immediately exceeded my expectations right off the bat. Joey met with me in person, listened to my ideas and gave recommendations to fit my needs. He answered all of my questions promptly via email over the course of the entire project. Joey and the rest of the crew were very nice. The price quote was very fair and easy to understand, with each item described in detail. The project started and finished in the time frame that was given. I’m beyond happy with the results. I would prefer to work with Joey and Universal Landscape for any future projects that I might have and I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Graded existing dirt area. Installed 252 square foot Pennsylvania blue stone patio above existing retaining wall. New 81 square feet Mutual Materials Manor stone retaining wall installed behind patio area, wall approximately 27 feet by 3 feet. They were able to the job much sooner than the time arranged. Over a month sooner! Price was very good. The installed thick stone stairs on incline. They look beautiful. The only thing I would do differently is to have a sketch drawn up of the planned work to be done. We had them relay a slate Garden Path and add a seating area.. they did a really great job laying it, it just ended up to be different than what I had wanted.... but was laid well. We also have them put in a 35 ft French drain in an area that had poor drainage and I have tested it and is working very well. They also moved part of our irrigation system and made sure it was running properly. I would definitely use them again and I plan on using them again. Hard-working and good workmanship.

This retaining wall was done during last April and it took a full week to complete. Even with some of the days having some rainy weather, the guys kept at it and did finish this wall well done. I had some weed prevent fabric put down on top of the back fill, and then I chose gravel which I like and have no grass to water and mow. So yes this project ended up with good function and looks, thanks.

Joey, Randy, Anton and Kyle have an absolutely positive attitude toward their work. And it shows in their results. This was a lot of work that was completed successfully this summer. Both Joey and Randy made positive suggestions throughout the process, and both are easy to talk with. That is a HUGE plus! They were able to expand the project as needed, and brought in professional help when they found a problem with the house foundation that needed repairs before they could move forward.
Description of Work: Pulled large and small stumps, built multiple rock walls, added a concrete foundation, moved plants, expanded the driveway, trenched for electrical work, removed an old timber bulkhead, removed old concrete and added permeable pavers and a retaining block bulkhead near the house.

very good. built approximately 140 feet of rock wall to replace old timbers. dug up parts of slanted lawn and put in layer of mulch. built a 6" high slate patio approximately 140 sq. '. replaced old ramp to upper lawn with a nicely angled sodded ramp . nice to go up with rider. added river run gravel around slate and flower beds. Joey was careful to put down plywood on lawns to run their equipment back and forth so grass wouldn't be torn up. removed choke berry hedge. removed all refuse made sure area was cleaned up. the young men working with Joey were very courteous and friendly as were joey and Randy. project took about 2 weeks since putting up rock wall and slate patio was like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. cost was $14,000, plus 2 dozen fresh baked cookies and fresh plums off of tree behind project. would definitely hire again
Description of Work: remove old railroad tie bulkhead which had rotted, remove old wood low deck, create a ramp to upper lawn which present one was an exciting ad venture to go up with riding lawn mower and remove choke berry hedge that had not matured like originally planned. build new retaining wall, small patio.

We purchased the deal through Angie's List to try out a landscaping company. Joey came out promptly and we decided on the first project. He sent us a bid and we agreed to move forward with the work. Randy cleared an area beside our driveway, removed a rotten stump and built a rock retaining wall. They carefully avoided the fiber line that went through the area and covered it again at completion. The communication was great throughout the process and we will be happy to have them bid on future projects. The job was completed in the expected timeframe. Great work! Even recalculated the bid after we accepted it to allow for the Angie's list discount and an easier time removing the stump.

We called in Universal Landscape to clean up the front of our house as it looked frumpy. Randy gave us an estimate a day or so later and we agreed. Randy removed all the dirt and concrete in the front of the house. He found that the front of our house structure was rotten. Apparently the home builder did not put anything between the concrete and the house, so it rotted. The large beams in the front were sitting in wrought iron boxes with no place for water to flow, the cedar beams were rotten. Randy waited until we could get a look and make some decisions as this was going to cost a lot more than we had budgeted for. But what can you do if your house structure is rotting? He contacted a framing guy (Mike from Master Works Construction-great job). The framers removed all the rotten wood, replaced it with treated wood and covered it properly. Randy cut the rot from the cedar beams and then hand made steel supports(amazing job too!) and poured cement supports under the beams, as there were none to begin with (such a crappy building job by home builder!!!). He then called in his guy to pour the cement. Universal Landscape should be the only one you need to call for any landscape needs. Very honest and hard working. That is hard to find in todays work place. You will not be sorry hiring this guy.

We have used Randy for a rip-up and re-do of the front of our house and he did an awesome job. We have a place to the left of the garage and the front of the house that was blank. Randy proposed some boulders and trees (small slow growing) and grasses with a bronze downspout. We agreed. He and his helper brought in the boulders and arranged them beautifully with river rock. He had to wait for Chuck's Masonry to finish putting the rocks onto the front of the house before he could put the plants in. Once Chuck finished with the rock, Randy added the trees, flowers, bushes and grass. He installed the bronze downspout the day he left for Hawaii. He could have waited until after his vacation, but he choses not to. He is a very hardworking and honest individual. We will use him for our landscape needs, always. Thank you Randy.

We talked with Joey for 30 minutes and he accurately pictured our desires. His estimate came in quickly and he started the job when he promised. He and his team worked hard every day and cleaned up each day. Total price was exactly what was estimated. We hated to see him finish up and leave. His knowledge and workmanship is outstanding. We will call him back for another project.
Description of Work: Terraced our sloping back yard into 3 level, usable, walkable areas by removing two large trees and many loads of soil. Installed granite retaining walls. Built walkways with landscape fabric and gravel. Brought in compost and top soil for the planting areas. Had to remove a fence to get equipment in and replaced the fence when complete.

Randy came by on the day discussed and we walked the property. I have about 1 3/4 acres with some landscaping, fruit trees, bordering, etc. I needed some ideas, a budget, long term project planning while targeting some short term projects to get done before a wedding in a few months. I wanted him and his team to do the work. He was very knowledgeable and confident in his skills along with the layout of my project. I told him we could get scheduled if he had some time in the near future. I just needed an estimate with the breakdown of what we were going to do and how, he also said he could give some visual help as he did take a video while he was there. He did make it clear that plans would be separate price and such, but I expected some pictures at least to help lay it all out there. He said in two days he would have my estimate. A week went by and I contacted him asking about the plans as I have not heard from him, he said he would get it to me. Two days later I received a bid for over $17,000. This was not out of the question as I knew it was a big project. However, there was nine lines on the estimate. Each were different, but one was: install 40 yards of mulch in front yard $3200. I was wanting some detail and understanding. I was not just going to fork out $17k and here you go. I contacted him after almost a week so I could try to grasp where he was coming from. I asked for a breakdown and said I can't fork out that money without knowing what exactly are you going to do? 4 days later I get an email with only one sentence saying" That's ok I already got my schedule filled for August and September. Thanks for letting me give you a free estimate" Really after 3 weeks that's the final response?!? I guess easy come, easy go.
Description of Work: Contacted Randy using the phone number provided and he responded within a day and said he could come by and do an estimate within a few days which was great because I knew it was the busy season. Gave him a few details over the phone and laid out a general idea.

I had purchased a big deal for the service and it was fine. He gave me some ideas, but I didn't follow through. He was very prompt, and very nice. I got another big deal on the same thing, and I wanted their advise, and I went with the other person. We came up with a mutually agreed upon date fairly soon, and there were no additional charges. At that point, I didn't want a plan, I wanted advise about what I wanted to do with the front of my house. I was perfectly happy with what he did.

It was great. They gave us some ideas, drew up a plan and I got exactly what I wanted. I had no problem getting an appointment. It's easy to get a hold of them and get scheduled. He's really knowledgeable. He helped us walk through some plans that would do well in our type of soil and in the amount of sunlight that we get. He went to the deck with different materials and let us know the pros and cons of doing different types of materials. I would definitely consider using him.

They started and finished the job within the time frame they had given me. They also made suggestions on how things could be done to make it look even better. The house looks amazing!! I'm absolutely thrilled with the job they did. The curb appeal of this house went up by 1000%!! They were very respectful of the property and in general, great guys. I plan on having them back (hopefully, next summer) to work on the backyard.
