Bad. I couldn't get them to show up. They claim on there website in expertise of outdoor application of tile. So I gave them a call and talked to the owner and he'd said he would be out that Saturday and then doesn't show up. Then he calls me a couple weeks later, apologizing saying he had an emergency and set another date, once again, doesn't show up. About that time I'm kind of done with it. I never got a price. That was what they were suppose to come out and do was give me an estimate. Not showing up is not very professional. I would have to get a very verberse apology, you know, but I would consider it, unlikely but I would consider it.
Description of Work: They did ceramic tile service. They didn't provide services for me. I have an outdoor balcony that I want tiled.

Started before Christmas, completely disassembled our kitchen and started the work. Left right in the middle of the job to go complete another job for a week, during the holidays while my kitchen was completely un-usable. Finished the job after the New Year with the help of his loud father who loves to slam doors. After they left, we found a noticeable gouge in the tile, so I called him to see if he could fix it. He said he would, but HE NEVER CAME BACK TO FIX IT. He never shows up when he says he will. I was satisfied with the work, except for the gouge left in the tile, and I am not happy that he never came back to fix it.
Description of Work: Installed granite tile and backsplash in kitchen.

Mr. Hulse spent a half an hour at least helping to figure out what the possible issues at hand in my shower dilemma even when he knew my project was not one large enough for him to work on. He also suggested other folks that do great work on smaller projects that I am going to contact asap.
Description of Work: Mr. Hulse was a great help to me over the phone with ideas of how to find a solution for my shower tile leaks. If I have to redo this tiled shower I will most definitely have him do it:)

Tom Hulse did a BEAUTIFUL, exceptional tile job on our challenging bathroom and shower design! Our bathroom shower has 3 windows, and a self-built, drop-in round bathtub. We used 12X24 tile. Tom made precision, gradual tile cuts to follow all the window raps, arches, and drop-in tub. Tom also rounded the edges of all the end tile pieces- making it look like bullnose - but better! Tom is a perfectionist and it shows! Our shower and built-in shower shelves are like a usable, working ART of the highest quality! Tom took all the time that was needed to make sure every cut was just right - he did not charge us for any additional time it took him to make this project be perfect. Tom also used the Kerdi waterproofing system and the installation was stellar...up to code and under warranty. We give Tom the highest of recommendations! Tom is a rare find - A MASTER TILE ARTIST!

We had spoken to a different tile layer and had suggested he speak to the tile manufacturers to ensure the tiles are laid as per specifications. That tile layer got upset with us that we were questioning his ability and skill to lay tiles. He was going to use a different material as mortar for the backsplash, one that the manufacturer has categorically stated was not desirable. We decided to not go with that tile layer and contacted Tom Hulse instead. I was right away impressed by Tom's manners over the phone. He was courteous and also very knowledgeable about all types of tile. He came over to provide me with an estimate and independently contacted the tile manufacturer to ensure the mortar he was considering for the tiles would work. He then researched and directed me to a store that sold urethane grout, which was not available at the local Home Depot. Tom was very meticulous in his work. He spent much longer than expected on the first day to lay the tiles, despite the fact that I had laid out the pattern on cardboard platforms, because he is so detail oriented. He came back a few days later to grout and again did an excellent job. The tile back splash looks gorgeous. My only problem is that he was unable to grout on the day he said he would because he had loaned his saw to someone and that person had not returned the correct parts to Tom. I wasted my entire day because I had rescheduled other appointments around this job. But this was my only problem. Tom came right back and completed the job two days later. On the other days, Tom made sure he called if he was getting delayed for any reason. Usually it was due to traffic. Tom also addressed our concerns about one tile that had been cut too wide around an electrical outlet very courteously. He first said he would try to apply more grout and that if that did not satisfy us, he would do, "anything it takes to get it right". We were really relieved to hear that. However, we were satisfied by the application of some extra grout near the outlet . All in all, we had a very positive experience working with Tom and would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Tom installed a glass tile back splash through out our kitchen.

We bought 2 granite slabs and 4 vessel sinks from a supplier and needed someone to cut and install them in our 2 bathrooms. Tom responded through email immediately and came to evaluate the job. The job was difficult because he had to create a backsplash as well as some tricky cuts. Tom was dedicated and exceptional. He strives for perfection and he is extraordinarily knowledgeable and very well informed. The job is perfect and we are very very happy. But most noteworthy, is the fact that Tom Hulse was a pleasure to be around with. Tom is an artist. DEFINITELY the best.

Initially, Tom was very easy to work with - he returned my original call within a week, and apologized for the delay. Then we set up a time to meet so that he could give me an estimate - he showed up precisely on time and went through everything... That was the last I heard from him - no bid as promised, no return calls. Even after a number of calls to him, not a response. I would fully understand if he was busy - just let me know and I would have moved on - but since he said he would have time to do the job and came out to do an estimate, I would think he could let me know where he stood. I can't recomend his work - but I can say his professionalism is lacking.
Description of Work: Was looking for bids to redo my downstairs shower and was given Tom Hulse of Hulse Tile as a recommendation.
