Signed contract to have work performed. Difficult to access areas were addressed and noted. Pressure Washed house in March of 2011. Scraped house in late March 2011, some caulking applied. Due to weather no work performed until August 2011. House was not rescraped, some primer was applied to siding bare spots. I do not believe the bare wood eaves were primed since I can see areas with no primer or top coat. Prep work was not done in a professional manner. Company owner was brash and difficult to work with.
The paint job was to be two top coats over primer. First top coat was to be back brushed then resprayed. Again I know the back brushing did not occur because I found areas that would have had paint if they were back brushed. I have found areas in my eaves where there are spider webs that have been sprayed over, if the area had been scraped and back brushed the spider webs would not exist with paint. Paint was dripped/splattered on my cars (most was cleaned off). I still have paint cans in my back yard from the workers. It took them seven months to do what they did. They warranteed the work. I am afraid to have them come back out.
I really liked the people whom I met. They were professional and and took good care of the rest of the area. I told them they could ruin the carpets, since I was ripping them out. When they painted the base moulding, they cleaned up perfectly after themselves. They painted it all by hand (not spraying), and the color was even and the edges were sharp.
The only mess up was that they were squeezing me in between larger projects that were running late, so they tried to reschedule twice. The second time I told them they had to do it on that day, so they came by at 9pm to finish the base moulding. Still, I'm glad they made the time for it, instead of just going home because it's late.
I would definitely work with them again, though I'd probably allow myself more room for unexpected delays. (It's the first time I worked with a contractor.)
