Doug was stubborn to work with. He kept telling us that the industry standard was one coat, not two. He tinted the primer the wrong color, which turned the wall a completely different color. We had to buy a new color to paint over. He left a huge mess and was completely unapologetic.

Fain was brought in as a subcontractor for a remodel that was being done for us by Northwest Water and Mold of a bathroom that needed a wall moved and a new shower put in that needed to be ADA compatible for my father who had injured his knee and couldn't navigate the stairs. While our first interaction was a hair rocky (he had to start a day later than he wanted because of automotive troubles) our subsequent interactions with him were first-rate. He listened to what we wanted to do with the tiles; the ADA curbless shower and custom shower pan, the shower niche, the accent row and having the accent row drop into the niche. He had experience designing the type of drainage system we needed for our specific situation and not only installed it but recommended structural guidelines for our primary contractor to use to that the install would go as we desired it. Fain worked steadily, not rushing through the job, but rather focusing on making sure the job was done right. The final result was exactly as I had imagined it in my mind when I bought the product, but seeing it done professionally made it that much better. If you are looking for someone to knock out tile on short notice without regard for quality (for a home flip or something) he might not be the right guy. But my experience with him was top notch and though it took a day or two longer than I had first hoped, the difference in quality was well worth the wait.
Description of Work: Installed new concrete board subfloor in ground floor bathroom, built custom shower pan for ADA shower, installed a custom drainage system for a curbless shower, tiled floor and shower including accents and a custom niche.

They kept on working until everything was done. Everyone is pleasant and easy to work with. I love these guys and I'm thankful to have found them. You will too.
Description of Work: Everything. I'm not kidding they fixed plumbing, they repaired the wooden fense, installed lights, installed drapery rods, touched up paint and managed to install a humongous overhead storage unit. They were here for about 11 hours and I didn't hear one complaint. What a wonderful group. In fact I'm having them to install wood floors and redo the master bath.

Serviceman arrived on time and efficiently took care of three issues we did not wish to try to do ourselves. He replaced an outdoor receptacle, repaired a recessed floodlight socket in our kitchen and a bulb contact in our garage door opener. Explained everything he was doing and what might have caused the problem in the first place.
Description of Work: Repaired three small electrical problems that we had.

Overall, it went OK. Having hired Alpha and Omega I was able to complete the project in a reasonable time (about 6 weeks), at a reasonable cost, and at about 90% of desired quality. Alpha and Omega is a one-man team, which is convenient when doing bathroom remodels where most of the work is tile and it is not practical trying to find separate tradesmen for half-a-day-worth of plumbing work here and half-a-day-worth of carpentry work there. Fain Randall of Alpha and Omega is skilled and experienced in all those areas required to complete the project. It is hard to be equally well skilled in all areas though, hence we did have a few issues along the way, though they all have been successfully resolved. The tile part had the least amount of issues if any at all. Still, if I were to get picky, I could point to a few tiles with some lippage. As long as this is a wall or floor tile, I am ok with it, but I don’t think I would be comfortable with this level of install quality for something like kitchen backsplash. The rest of work went with various degrees of success and drama, the important thing to mention here is that I did have to be involved into the project and stay on top of it every single day. Now it could be that I am just one of those clients from h*** who follows up and checks all the work to be plumb and level, but I kept discovering issues almost daily. To Fain’s credit, he was always willing to correct those issues where it was still possible. All in all, while I would certainly not mind being able to just close my eyes and have somebody do it all perfectly, I don’t think it is a realistic expectation. And with this in mind, Alpha and Omega does a good job as long as one’s expectations are set correctly.
Description of Work: Remodel 2 bathrooms – demolition, rough plumbing, tub replacement, shower base, kerdi liner, ditra, wall and floor tile, vanities installed, baseboard installed, walls and baseboard paint.

Alpha and Omega has completed two separate jobs for us - installation of porcelain tile in the mudroom and half bath and also our kitchen backsplash installation. The porcelain tile job was completed in mid-September and the backsplash was completed October 3. Overall, the quality of Alpha and Omega's work is good and the price is fair. Fain, of Alpha and Omega, was quick to come out and provide us with a reasonable bid for his work as well as fit us into his schedule. That was definately a big plus for us! The tile in the mudroom/bathroom looks great - it was installed on point/diagonal. I also like the fact that his description indicates he gives 5% back to charity and he's a local Marysville business. There were a few things that bothered me about the experience though...There are some flaws in the work. We have to chip out the grout from the vent in the bathroom so the vent cover can fit in there. Some of the backsplash tiles are more sunken in than others and some of the spacing is off. Additionally, some of the grout work bleeds into the ceiling and cabinets. I expected the lines to be sharp. To me, it looks a little sloppy and maybe it's me having a critical eye and no one else will notice it. Hopefully we can get some trim to cover that up. However, the biggest complaint that I have is that he left us with a mess. I can somewhat understand not taking the tile boxes/cardboard with him since we purchased that ourselves (although that would have been nice) but he left sponges and rags that he used while doing the job and our front patio is an absolute disaster from all the tile dust. Since he had to use our hose/water for the tile saw, you'd think that he would have sprayed off the area after he was done but he didn't. Now, we have to clean all of this up. . Once again, maybe I'm being a little critical but I think that if you come to do a job, you should leave it in the same or better condition as when you started. Does Fain/Alpha and Omega do good work? Yes. Is it great? I don't know about that. It is, however, better than I could do. Would I use him again if I needed another tile job? No, I don't think so.

I fetl it went very well. The work was all completed and my home was left in great shape.
Description of Work: Alpha and Omega installed a new light fixture including the wiring and switch for the new light, added an additional outlet in my bathroom and added an outlet in a sunroom that didn't have any outlets. They also looked at re-wiring my kitchen exhaust fan but felt that the current wiring was fine and any changes to the existing wiring would be cost prohibitive compared to any benefit.

.Alpha and Omega are very good because they let the home owner assist to cut down the cost. He keeps to his bid. He allows the home owner to assist in certain steps. He told us where we could buy our supplies at a cheaper rate. He is going to finish another project for us in April. He finished our bathroom very quickly and very beautiful. His clean up was outstanding. He worked in my house and didn't trash it and cleaned up after himself. He is very good on email responding. The next project is more expensive as it is an entire re-modeling of our bathroom.
