Northwest Interiors & Design is a boutique remodeling company specializing in kitchens and bathrooms. We are passionate about creating spaces in your home that are perfect for you; rooms that you love; spaces that you can't wait to return to. So what is a "boutique" remodeling company? According to Webster's Dictionary, a boutique is "a small company that offers highly specialized services or products". Wikipedia further describes a boutique company as one "that serves a sophisticated or specialized clientele". Our clients expect a company that gives them personalized service, innovative designs, and professional results. Every project is unique - we design and build to suit you!
"3-month project took 9 months to complete, plus we were threatened with liens because we rightly (by contract) would not pay for clearly incomplete work. Summary below: We hired Northwest Interiors and Design (NWID) for a big project they scheduled to be performed from May to August (3 months). On a six-figure project, they would send only one guy at a time to work on one area on many days, with weeks going without anyone coming and without any work being done on the project. Without any major change orders that would cause delays, the project was completed only 9 months later. We budgeted a delay of 1-2 months, but this excessive delay on a 3 month project seems wholly unacceptable and unprofessional -- especially without any explanation as to why minimal to no work was being done thus delaying the work. Despite all the delays, we were sent invoices for project areas that were obviously not complete (for example, they would bill for an area where the flooring is lacking, or a media center without any cabinet doors at all). We were billed despite the contract saying that payment would be “upon completion” of specific areas -- and these areas took another 3 months or so of work before it could be considered complete. Worse and most appalling, the owner threatened us with liens for us not paying for the incomplete areas -- which we refused to pay based on the contract she herself had drawn up. This is despite them already receiving large sums of money that would be sufficient for any other general contractor to finish the work -- pointing to huge red flags of possible cash flow issues with this company. We had to seek counsel from a lawyer who did advise us not to pay given no payment was actually due per the contract. We had originally decided to spend the extra money and hire a general contractor because I did not want the headache of coordinating subcontractors myself (as I had done on a previous home), and to make sure the project is finished in a timely manner. Unfortunately, NWID cost more, caused more problems/headaches, and took much longer than if I had done the subcontracting myself. Lesson learned. If despite the above review you are still considering hiring them, I would strongly recommend including a “performance clause” in the contract wherein they would be penalized a certain amount of money for every week of delay in the project. I would also recommend against the “design deposit” that they ask for to begin working with them -- unless they specify in writing that they would abide by a performance clause in the final contract, including what weekly financial penalties they face if they do not finish work at a reasonable and agreed-upon time."

"I cannot express enough how unsatisfied I am with the ER Eliete Remodeling Services, LLC and the services provided by the general contractor I hired for my home renovation project. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. I regret choosing them and would strongly advise others against making the same mistake. Poor Quality Workmanship: The quality of their work was abysmal. The finishes were sloppy, and it was evident that they lacked attention to detail. I had to point out numerous mistakes and flaws that should have been caught during the construction process. Unprofessional Behavior: The behavior of the contractor and their crew was unprofessional and disrespectful. They yelled at my wife, and constantly said we are to picky Lack of Expertise: It became apparent that the contractor lacked the necessary expertise to handle certain aspects of the project. They made numerous mistakes that had to be fixed, causing even more delays and frustration. Had to pay others to fix their mistakes. In conclusion, my experience with this general contractor was a complete disaster. Their lack of professionalism, communication, and expertise resulted in a poorly executed project that was overpriced and far from meeting my expectations. I strongly advise anyone considering hiring this contractor to think twice and explore other options. Save yourself the headache and disappointment. Two weeks after he left our home, we had a major plumbing leak, that required walls to be opened up, more money spent to correct his problems. ER Elite Remodeling will take your money, and either do a poor job or walk away with project not finished, not take your phone calls or texts, but gladly keep your money. Found out later that license is expired...................."

It’s important to ask an electrician a few questions before you commit to hiring them so you can make an informed decision as a consumer. If you’re getting estimates or considering hiring an electrician, ask them these questions:
Are you a full-time electrician?
Are you bonded, licensed, and insured?
What level of experience do you have as an electrician?
Can you please share three references?
Do you do residential or commercial electrical work?
What kinds of electrical work are you most familiar with?
Will any subcontractors be performing the work?
Are permits and inspections required?
Who is responsible for obtaining permits and inspections?
What is your schedule?
Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your work?
Will you sign a do-not-exceed clause to keep the job within the budget?
Tipping an electrician is not a requirement nor is it expected, as they build a fair wage into the price of the job. It’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping electricians, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip 10% to 15%, it will likely be received with thanks.
Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
Yes, although there are different types of electricians, they must be licensed, certified, and in most cases insured. States have different requirements for electrician licensing and certifications. In some cases, there may be licensing requirements at the local level, but not the state level. It’s always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. If licensing is not required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed electrician with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
