The Technician showed up within the stated time window and started to work immediately. The work went smoothly until he ran into some issues with the duct work which needed to be upgraded due the larger BTUs of the new heater. The Tech worked very hard even though a duct work issue required a trip to a parts store to make the hook up work. I was informed prior to the tech leaving as well as to how the installation was going throughout. I was treated very professionally by the tech and by an additional tech who showed up to help. I was very pleasantly surprised that with the difficulty that was encountered the estimate which I had received prior to the work beginning did not change. I have used Washington Energy Services before and will most certainly be using them again. Prior to hiring Washington Energy Services I had gotten an estimate from the local Home Depot store (Federal Way) and the Fast Water Heater Company who is the local contractor. I had received a very low estimate and was told that the price may go up a few hundred dollars depending on what additional problems they may find. I was very disappointed when I was told that the final price would be over two and one half times higher than the original estimate by the crew that showed up. I felt I had been low balled and then had unneeded and expensive parts added to the bill by Fast Water Heaters. The final price quoted was for a lower priced model with two years less warranty and was over $600.00 more expensive than the quote from Washington Energy Services. You can understand why I decided to go with Washington Energy Services.
Description of Work: Replaced my aging 50 Gallon gas water heater with a 75 gallon gas water heater.

The Home Energy Specialist, the person came out to do the critical measurement and the installer were all professional and on time. Install went smoothly. Installer instructed me on adjustment of self-storing window and use of pet door security panel. The dogs are happy to have a pet door and I am happy to have added weather protection on the south side of the house.
Description of Work: Ordered and installed Larson Storm Door 370-79 with factory installed pet door 10"X15".

In many respects, he was very thorough. He pointed out many items that would need future attention of his services. He even prioritized the list for me so I could plan and budget these items for the near future. Although he quoted me a price for a new toilet, my husband later pointed out to me that the supply line would have to be moved and the plumber did not include this in the quote. And there were other items that my husband pointed out that were not presented in the final report. Lesson learned: make sure husband is the one to work with service providers in the future! All in all, a very good experience and will use this service in the future.

We're not pleased by them. They did the work and they had to come back six different times because they left some of holes in the wall they were putting insulation in. They cut some electricity lines so I didn't have electricity on one side of the house for about three weeks. That's not a good deal. I don't think I'm going to use them as an example. I had trouble speaking with them. He can't even tell me where the bees came from. It wasn't pleasant at all. I would not use them again in the future.

Second time this year we have attempted to get them out to repair a product they sold us. Even though we have a service contract with them we were unable to get prompt repair of our heater and heat pump. Our heater stopped working and we called for a service appointment on December 13th. We have no heat in the month of December. The earliest they would schedule an appointment is the afternoon of December 24th (Christmas Eve). 11 days from now. However if we would pay double their normal service fee they would try to tack us on to the schedule of a sooner date. We might get on the end of the day schedule the following Monday. But only if we agreed to double fee. I asked to speak with a manager. They said no managers work on weekends,. So during the holiday season following 24 hours of power outages we cannot get heat even though we have paid for an annual service contract. Previously we waited over two weeks to get service on a generator they sold us and installed. The manager called and asked me to withdraw my previous critical Angies List review.

The operator was courteous.
Description of Work: Furnace failed last night, 12/2. Calling the 24/7 emergency line sent me to after hours voice mail. When I finally spoke to someone, the earliest appointment was for the 13th of December, 11 days away. Who can wait 11 days for heat in a cold snap?

Every moment of our customer experience with this company was superb. They are knowledgeable, professional, punctual and hard working. Our salesperson, Will made every effort to ensure all our questions were answered and that we were comfortable throughout the process. He followed up consistently and took the time to get to know our needs and tailor the options to our specific scenario. Never pushing us. Tyler did the audit and gave us such insight as new homeowners into the components of increasing the efficiency in our home. The installation team of Ben and Dell were amazing. They worked fast and hard and made sure that we were happy. They took great care of our home as if it were there own. Where all of these individuals went above and beyond (as if it gets better) is in the way they treated our energetic 2 year old. He wanted to be involved and they included him and laughed with him and took the extra steps to let his inquiring mind discover things along the way as they worked. Will made a special trip back just to say hi one last time. We are very satisfied and pleased, and grateful to have worked with this amazing team.

Gary came to do the pre-inspection and Chris the electrician also came to make sure he knew what needed to be done so he could be sure to have everything he needed when the work was to start. Aaron and Chris came when they were supposed to come. Everyone that was here was real professional, they really knew what they were doing, they protected the floors, they made sure to let us know what they were doing and why they were doing certain things such as the strapping for earthquake proofing. They were very picky and did incredible work, all along from running the wires to the piping, and even the surround for the fireplace. It fit perfectly and everything looks great! I could have not asked for anything to go any better.
Description of Work: Replace furnace, install heat pump, replace two hot water tanks and put in a new gas fireplace.

About two weeks ago, I called for an appointment to service our gas fireplaces. The appointment was scheduled for 11/19/14 between 8-11. I got a phone message on 11/18/14 informing me that the appointment could not be fulfilled as scheduled and that I should call to reschedule. I returned the call and was told, after some back and forth discussion, that someone would be by as scheduled. On the day of the appointment I waited until 10:20 before calling to find out about when the technician would be by. I was put on hold for about 5 minutes and hung up. I received a call back and was told that there must have been some confusion about my understanding that the appointment was as scheduled. I reminded the caller that it was she who definitely told me that it was still on as scheduled. I was totally frustrated at the inference that I was the one that misunderstood so I told her that I would seek someone else to service our gas fireplaces.

Generator failed to start during a storm power outage, We waited 5 days for first service appointment available. When technician arrived he did not have the part to fix problem. Had to go back to shop and order part then said he would be back within a week after part got there. After a week elapsed I called to inquire and only when I got the regional manager involved did I find out that part had not been ordered by technician. I was given an apology and they would expedite repair. About a week later the problem was fixed and I was told they would not charge me for the service, which I was previously told would cost me for service call and parts. I am on an annual service contract and the generator had been given its annual service by their technician a few months prior but their policy is that if any repairs or service calls are necessary, the service contract doesn't cover it. After more than two weeks the repair was done to our satisfaction, however it took many calls and finally got resolution by contacting the regional general manager. I learned to contact the boss directly because the other folks on the phone were not helpful. I do not recommend buying their annual service contract because it doesn't cover emergency repairs or service calls other than one tune-up per year. The tuneup on this generator costs more than the tuneup on an average automobile. I got several apologetic phone calls and eventually they fixed my generator at no cost. So overall I was treated satisfactorily.

Update: The company did ultimately stand up for what was right and came out evaluated the situation and have made the corrections. Seems like they are trying to be a excellent vendor and one that can earn back my trust. So far so good. Thanks Washington Energy Service. ******************************************** I would seriously have to warn anyone from buying for Washington Energy Services. Nineteen months ago I replaced my Heat Pump system, for a cost of over 10K, not that I had to as it was functional, but because I had received many years of service 22 years and I wanted better efficiency. At first they where very eager for my business, they called back, where on top of their appointments, but that all changed once the system was installed. From the very first few days I had issues, Major vibration from the Air Handler, at first they tried to pass this off as normal.. Normal to have a freight train come through your house every time your heater started? I had to call and email multiple times a week. First waiting for a mysterious part that was 90 days out, when that did not fix the problem several followup visits, they finally got the sound down to a I give up kinda level, this took 3 months ! Then I told them the system seems to act funny (defrosting at a rate that seemed high) Again was told this is normal. Did I ever get a followup call ? No Did I get the free Tune up they so glorified during the Sale ? No!! I guess that was my job to police up like all the other interactions with them. Now after less than 2 years of service my compressor is shot, really ? how is that possible I asked, I will have my manager call you ( still waiting for that call!) We will need to order the parts (covered by Warrantee) but that will take 7-10 biz days and the labor cost will be 2K. Really ? After significant research on the problem all things point to a compressor being a very robust part of the system (less than 1% fail on there own) and typically they do not fail unless there was an improper installation. Am I just lucky? I think not, I think this represents the kind of organization that Washington Energy is. Very attentive to get your money but that is where there service ends.

We are actually repeat customers and up until this point, have been very happy with Washington Energy. Last year, we had new windows installed and had plans for new siding with Washington Energy in the near future. Based on our previous experience, we decided to order a new door with sidelights. Not only did our salesman sell us sidelights that couldn't work for our house, but he waited a couple weeks after the measurements were taken to tell us this. He knew how important this door and sidelights are because it leaks when it rains, so it amazes me that he wouldn't tell us right away. He also failed to answer questions in my emails, missed answering a few of my emails all together, and only focused on selling us the most expensive option, which we ended up going with out of frustration. I emailed back and forth with his manager who apologized and lead me to believe that door and sidelights would be rushed. He mentioned that it might take a little longer for it to be painted, but it didn't seem like it was going to be that big of a deal. Well, apparently he was wrong, and the door can't be rushed. We were never informed of this, until I called to ask about the installation date being scheduled for mid-December. This has been such a disappointing experience and what's even more frustrating is dealing with such bad customer service with not only our salesman, but also his manager.

This individual was polite, professional, and thorough. He even told a few funny stories. Putting up the shower hose assembly was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend PlumbWorks, especially the technician/plumber, Chase.
Description of Work: Plumber replaced the old hose bib/outside faucet. He had to do quite a bit of work which included cutting the sheet rock under the kitchen sink to gain access. He only cut out a very small square that can be easily repaired. And he did spray in some foam insulation that I had on hand and showed me what to do (I have some other gaps to spray in my garage). He also inspected pipes in the crawlspace and sinks/toilets/tubs for the house. He also connected a new shower assembly. While under the house he found rat droppings and two bees nests. THIS WAS NOT PART OF HIS JOB BUT I AM GRATEFUL HE TOLD ME. This is because I just paid a pest control company to do a top to bottom inspection and treatment of the house. I was on the phone immediately to the pest control company while the plumber was there in case they needed to talk with him.

The fine print had specified that hardware and labor could be added to the deal. I was a little annoyed that the total was more than i had expected but plumbing always seems to cost more than i think it should. The provider was outstanding though, friendly and efficient. My faucet hardware was behind the wall so he had to cut and replace which was done quickly and has clearly fixed my leak. I am fully satisfied with the work. The deal included an inspection of all my plumbing indoors and I was left with a quote detailing recommendations for maintenance or upgrade work that i might later want. Some of those items i may never do but overall, i feel the time and work done were very worthwhile.
Description of Work: Replaced leaky outdoor hose faucet with new hardware behind the wall as well.
