We knew we had rodents around, but when I opened the coat closet door to see a big Norwegian rat scurry across the coat rack, the extent of the problem became all too clear. We called Safeguard, who promptly sent out Tim Hagen. Tim assessed the situation, found the points of entry and closed them carefully so that rats and mice couldn't continue to enter. He put out non-poison traps both on the grounds and in the garage, then came back quickly to empty and reset the traps. That was 6 years ago. Tim continues to come regularly to spray for ants and other insects, do inspections for rodents and keeps our home pest-free. He does a great job, is very personable and we enjoy seeing him. I would recommend Safeguard, especially Tim Hagen, to anyone with a pesky pest problem.

Heidi, the service professional was excellent. Very thorough and knowlegeable. She gave us sound advice on where the rats were getting in the attic and how to prevent future problems with them. She did a complete inspection of the attic as well as the perimeter of the house and set traps. We were very pleased and will contact her again if needed but hopefully we won't have to.

They were very good. We used them basically one time. They had to come back once or twice to follow-up and resolve the problem. We basically used them for one event. It was not very much. He was very helpful. He worked us into his schedule. I would use him willingly anytime.

The owner, Gary, came to see what my concerns were with the carpenter ants. I saw few in the house and around the house and killed them with household spray. But being carpenter ants, I wanted to talk to an expert as I am relatively new to the area. He came to give me estimate and what he would recommend. He said my house is lower risk because the trees didn't hang over the house and the siding didn't go all the way down to the ground. He gave me very good education and said that he does not see anything major and didn't push me much at all which I appreciated. I told him that I would sign up for quarterly spray if I see ant activity after the first spray. He did it himself at discounted price even though he came to do just the estimate. I also had him come inside and educate me on Pantry Moss. He knew his stuff. He's been in the business for 30 years, he says. I liked him. If I see more carpenter ants, I will sign up for the quarterly spray.

It solved my problem. The service is now done quarterly. The people who come are helpful, and I feel better about living in my home because of this service.

The serviceman called ahead of time to schedule when he would be there, as we had agreed. I wanted to be there when he came to do the work. He came as promised on time, and did what we had agreed to. No problems! Would definitely recommend Safeguard as a local company that works at a reasonable price.

They take care of interior once a year. They do exterior four times.

Tim was very professional and easy for me to get along with. After telling me the price he wrote up the contract and had me sign it and pay him up front. He did not try to pressure me into regular treatments, which I appreciated as you always wonder if they will do as good a job on your project if you don't sign up for regular treatments in the future. He pulled off a few of the siding boards and killed over a thousand ants and said it should last for a few months. It seemed amazing to me how much damage the ants had done to the siding and wall board. Luckily, we planned on having new Hardie Board siding put on in one month so the timing for this probably couldn't have been any better. All went well and Tim was done in one hour.

The provider was responsive and knowledgeable. He was able to correctly assess the infestation problem and eliminate it. He did so at a modest cost. We were very pleased at the outcome. The provider worked us into his schedule at very short notice, which was very helpful to us, as we were about to leave town for a few days. I would recommend Safeguard Pest Control in Lynnwood to anyone looking for pest control services. We selected this provider based upon prior favorable reviews in Angie's List, which we felt were accurate and representative of this provider's work.

I phoned them after screening local pest control companies here on AL. They were helpful on the phone, recommending that we set bait traps, have them checked quarterly, and also have our home exterior inspected for entry points, etc. I was quoted costs for everything. The rats are exclusively in our backyard rock wall, and not in the crawl space. We know this because we've already had the crawl space checked both before and after we replaced the vapor barrier late last year. I said I'd discuss all this with my husband and phone back. I did phone back and LVM that we did want the bait traps set and checked quarterly for at least one year (which was less than $100/visit). I also noted in my VM that we were sure a exterior home inspection wasn't needed. I never heard back from them! This left me with the impression that either the home inspections are very profitable, or that they assume homeowners don't know squat about their own houses. I'm phoning a different company today.

It turned out well. He seemed to be knowledgeable. It was nice that he told us the things that we could either do ourselves, or he could come back out and give us a quote on what it would cost. The pricing was reasonable.

It felt really quick. I didn't really have an opinion on it. We didn't have critters, it was more preventive for the outside perimeter of our house. I didn't really have anything negative, but there wasn't anything really amazing either. The cost influences the overall. The guy was great and super nice, but the price was pretty high. I would use them again if they offered a good deal, but I would not seek them out for more services.

It was good. They were very professional. Everything was resolved. They got rid of the bee hive. I think they got everything.

I contacted Susan on Thursday and they were out on Friday. They treated the entire house and I am quite pleased. I received an electronic copy of the invoice, as requested.

It was easy to schedule, they were on time, and the work was quickly done. They were thorough and we have had no issues sense.

He was very knowledgeable for the field. I would use them again if the need ever arose again.

We recently hired an exterminator from another company to inspect our house for rodent activity. This person put out traps and claimed to see definite signs of mice in our house. He ended up giving us a whole laundry list of things we NEED to get done in order to get a handle on this or the mice will reproduce and get worse and worse. His list of proposed changes would cost several hundred dollars - and they would not come back out to check the traps they left unless we agree to fix everything. We then called Safeguard to get a second opinion. Tim came out and looked all around our house, in our attics and the crawl space. He found one mouse in a trap - said it looks like it had been there for quite a long time. Tim was very friendly, no pressure, and came across in a very reasonable and rational manner. We decided to have him come back out in a couple of weeks to spray for bugs and he would check the traps that he left today to see if we still have a problem at all. He went over what he would do if he found more mice as well as if he didn't find more mice. He was very clear and reasonable - we fully understand the plan and feel good about it. We liked Tim and Safeguard and we hired him again before he even left his first appointment with us.

They were quick to schedule an appt. Came out, sprayed the next and then told me to call them when it looked like there was no activity so they could come remove it. I called two days later and said it looked quiet but it was 30 ft up and not very easy to confirm. Tech said he'd be back out later that day or next day. Was frustrated when I got home the following afternoon to see the next off the side of my house by laying smashed all over the ground next to my house. The next was broken into multiple pieces and there were dead bees everywhere. Why couldn't they put the entire next, if quiet, into a sealed back for destruction? Very odd and have not let my kids run barefoot around that side of the house since.

They get all B's except for overall and quality and with them, I didn't get what I expected. They said that they couldn't spray the spiders unless they see them there but I just wish they would put something to just keep them away.

Vendor came and inspected for pests.. found evidence of rodents (which we knew) they placed exterior traps as expected but I am not aware that they did any followup to see if the traps had actually been effective.

I have been a regular customer of Safeguard for seven years. Gary and his team are fantastic to work with. They come out as as scheduled, even when the weather isn't that great. The Safeguard team is always available to make special calls (i.e. when a wasp nest pops up under the eaves or the dreaded mole has taken residency in the lawn). They also do a yearly check of my interior attic space to ensure it's pest free as well. Safeguard offers great value with their quarterly service program. I have used other national chain providers before Safeguard but they pale in comparison to this family owned business.

While they were very nice and came out several times to retrieve the traps (when I left town and could not observe the traps for animals) and reset them, they did not seem to really know what they were doing with respect to squirrels. They identified the entry hole into the ceiling area and set some traps on the ground along the pathways they believed the squirrels took to access the entry hole. They caught one squirrel but the noises continued in the ceiling. They terminated our relationship as they felt they did not have the expertise and were unsuccessful at resolving the problem. I appreciated their honesty and their desire to do a good job but I spent $250 for minimal results. The contrast between their knowledge and my next provider was stark; my 2nd provider was extremely knowledgeable and solved the problem relatively quickly. Safeguard may be more effective with other pests but not with squirrels in my case. They were nice, responsive, and honest though.

It went fine, and when they called back in about 3 months for the next scheduled service, I was not able to do it then, so told them no, and had seen no signs of ants or rodents. I guess I should have done it then, since there is a discount on that scheduled return, instead of waiting for another time period, which would start the charge over again. My mistake. Anyway, I saw some ants again later, and heard something in the attic soon after the 3 months lapsed, so called them and asked if I could get in "late" on the call-back program, which I think was a $90 charge (after 3 months from the initial service). I called them twice, and each time was told by the phone answerer that they would research my account, visit, etc. and ask someone else if it was possible to give me the call-back at the discounted price even though I was late. I might have even been prepared to start the service over, with the original cost incurred, since it was my fault the call-back was not allowed by me. Now, I don't know if I should use them again, or start fresh with someone else. I have no issue with the people from Safeguard, except their failure to follow through on my 2 phone calls. However, now, I do expect a discounted charge if they decide to honor my request, since they chose not to call me back, or if they just forgot, or someone didn't get the message.
