I didn't have them do the work. They were very honest and forthright. They said for my situation that didn't make sense that it would be cheaper to re pour the slab than to jack the slab. It just didn't make sense. The only thing keeping them from an "A" overall is because of the price. They are a honest company. They are a little expensive for anything that is probably a small residential project but they are honest and forthright about it.
Description of Work: I had them come out for a bid to jack a slab. I had a concrete apron that was cracked and dipping and they were going to jack it up with their process to get it back to normal.

The guy showed up when he said he would. Was here and did his thing and left. We just never did the work. The pool deck was the smallest part of the quote. I think that was around $1,000/$1,500 or 1,800. The garage floor, I think was over $3,000, $3,200 or something like that.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from them. It was 2 jobs, kind of separated. Part of it was our pool deck and part of it was our garage floor, slapjacking it

The gentleman from Slabjack examined the area in need of repair and told me that the Slabjack technique could not fix this problem. He then showed me exactly what needed to be done-- offering advice on how to find someone better able to do the job and giving me an approximate estimate of what the work should cost. He was very knowledgeable and went the extra mile even though he wasn't being paid for his expertise and assistance. When I began the search for someone who could do the job, I felt more confident and better informed and able to find exactly what we were looking for.

My wife and I couldn't be happier with how great our patio Slabjack job turned out! It was a pleasure to have those three hard-working men come to our home to improve the condition of our patio; it was a challenging job. The crew was outstanding, very meticulous, professional and, well . . . artistic! The patio no longer has trip hazards or doggie paw traps and we're ready to get it resurfaced, once it settles a bit (per Chris' recommendation) over the next six months, or so. We'll be sure to call Slabjack if the patio drops again during that period, although the crew was optimistic that the polyurethane would help to keep the patio more stable this time. The price was more than fair and the company treated us great. Thanks Slabjack!
Description of Work: Rework previous failed mudjacking that badly cracked our old concrete patio, creating some serious trip hazards for aging humans and cracks large enough for small dog paws to get caught in. At the time the job was done, polyurethane was not being used in this industry, which would have helped keep the patio from leeching the mud slurry that was injected then.

I was certain I had an expensive project ahead, and instead was reassured that the problem was not what I thought. He even went over how I might handle other projects that his company does not do. I got very good ideas about those projects, and good questions for other contractors. I wish I could have hired Slabjack for the project, but didn't need them and I felt very well treated. I would hire them if I had a need.

I was very happy with them. I didn't know if they could do it in the rainy Seattle winter but they said that that was not a problem. They came out and did a great job. They drilled holes in the concrete and pumped what they call mud underneath it. It was some compound. They had to do it in a certain order so that the side walk wouldn't break. They patched the holes with aggregate so you couldn't see where they drilled. Everything has been okay since. I have not noticed any problems.

Slabjack NW was very responsive in all areas including estimate, telephone follow-up, and on-time arrival for the service. They were very pleasant to work with even though I took my time to investigate other alternatives. My only concern was that I felt the cost was a little high for the amount of work performed but their price did turn out to be the best of those providers that would come out to our area.

'Reconfirmation' has been requested. All emails from customers and potential customers pass through my inbox (Managing General Partner of Slabjack NW) before they’re distributed to our dispatchers. Our dispatchers keep a paper log of phone calls, voicemail messages, in addition to using a cloud based calendar and CRM software. It seems the member may have simply mistaken our company for a different contractor, as we have no record of any emails or phone messages as mentioned in the review. Member's contact information will be requested from our Angie's List Account Manager in attempt to resolve the member's concerns if reconfirmation determines review was provided correctly.

Responsive and quick to come out for free quote. Not necessarily cheaper, but readily available to fix problem. Able to bring equipment up the neighbor's driveway and across neighbor's yard using plywood sheets to protect grass. Careful around shrubs and landscaping. Good overall job.

When providing the quote, they led me to believe that their method would be successful and accomplish my goal. I was nervous about having it done and even expressed that when I accepted the bid. Before they started the work, I asked to speak to the person (I was at work) before he started. I again expressed concern and asked him to to do a "good" job. After they were "finished" the person spoke to my wife and express "disappointment" that they could not close the gap. Not only had they not closed the gap (they left a good inch), but they busted the step in two, leaving a crack right in the middle of the step. After receiving the invoice, I called to express my disappointment in the work they had done. He explained that most of the time everything works the way it should. However, in my case, because of the construction of my porch and steps, he couldn't raise the steps. He went on to explain that he was successful in filling in some sizable voids beneath the porch and driveway. I understand that things don't always go the way you want them to. I also believe that this firm probably does good work (I check them out on AL before hiring them) and that they wanted to make me happy. But all that doesn't matter when you are the exception. So, I was left with a large gap, a busted step and a sizable invoice as well as additional cost to fix the problem after Slabjack was done. Had I known the outcome, I wouldn't have tried to fix the step. Member update July 3, 2014: I received a call from the managing partner of the firm. Unfortunately, I was unavailable to speak with him. He left a voicemail indicating this was the first time he was aware of a problem. He apologized for the problems I experienced and assured me my complaint was not handled properly. He then offered to pay for the cost of the crack repair. Even though I had already paid the invoice in full, two days later a revised invoice was sent to me with a discount that covered the cost of the repair. It was not only the right thing to do, it was a nice thing to do. Kudos.
Description of Work: The front step to my home had fallen creating an opening about 1.5 to 2.0 inches between the porch and the step. The quote was to raise the step to close the crack and to stabilize the porch/step to prevent anymore movement.

Unfortunately, this review is the first time management was made aware of this situation. While the employee who addressed the member's concerns was correct in stating "These things happen, " he did not handle the resolution in a manner reflective of our company's standards. Member has been issued a revised invoice reflecting a discount for the entire cost of the crack repairs. In addition, the member has been contacted to apologize for how this was handled. The employee mentioned in the member's review has been consulted on how to approach these rare occurrences going forward.

It fell again so they were pretty amendable to coming back again. It took us a few times to get hold of them but they did come back out. We were semi-satisfied but not totally because of the miscommunication of them not returning our calls. The price was really good. The second time they did a great job so it was better after they fixed it. I'm not sure if we would call them anything or not.
