The Foreman/Estimator (Bill) was prompt and efficient with the proposal delivered in 24 hours via email and two days by regular mail. Telephone followup with a negotiated bid price and a scheduled time for the project. The paint crew completed all work in a professional manner with Bill coordinating the project. There was a minor communication error in the schedule but was corrected quickly. The paint crew did have some language barrier since they were not fluent in English. The crew supervisor (Wilmer) was professional with the project being completed in the time stated and they all worked efficiently together. Finally this proposal was not the lowest price but professionalism, integrity and service were considerations in the selection.

From start to finish the whole job went extremely well. I have the utmost confidence in the staff and crew at Seattle Paint and Drywall. Special thanks to Jeff, Julie, Jocko, and Javier for a job well done! It was an emergency repair with scheduled guests in a few days and Jeff managed to get it all handled and completed in time. Wonderful, caring professional people.

SPD was very quick to send someone out to provide an estimate. Both Ethan and another estimator were out within days of our call. They were very hot for the work. Said the work could be scheduled for the following week. In fact, they tried to show up quite early for an estimate appointment. So far, so good. I like go-getters. Then, nothing. No word. We called within a week or two to find out the status of our estimate, and got word back that the existing paint is lead-based. But no further details. Fine, so does that mean that you can't provide an estimate? That the house is unpaintable? And wouldn't it have been nice to tell us that you found this out? Also, wouldn't it be nice to just tell us that you don't want the work? Called again, but still no response from SPD. Overall, we are quite unimpressed with the level of responsiveness. So, at this point, it doesn't matter if they provide an estimate or not, because whatever it is, we won't be working with SPD. Looking at previous reports, it appears that they have a bad track record with estimates on older houses. Really, if you don't want to paint older houses, just say so in your description.

We should have been more conclusive in our follow up reasons for not bidding this job. Our apologies. The issue of lead on some very old homes does create painting problems. Our standard procedure is to inform the customer of the high levels of lead that we would need to work with and then lead them in the right direction to someone who works with high levels of lead and the prep work involved. Again our apologies for dropping the ball.

Having read a good review on Angie's list, I contacted the company for our project; the estimater (two of them) came out within two days, and gave a very thorough look at the complex, helping to fine tune the scope of work. The bid arrived about a week later, and was a few thousand dollars less than the next lowest. Having accepted the bid, the boss called on Memorial Day weekend, to see if the crew could begin on the Tuesday following--I was surprised how quickly they could start. One of the estimators was also on the painting crew, and made sure the scope of work was followed. The workers were personable and seemed happy; the only shortcoming was, I felt, that many of the crew did not speak English fluently, and so needed to have parts of the job explained several times. They cleaned up quite well, and did a careful job with the tedious scraping needed. The final job looks excellent!
Description of Work: Our large condo complex needed some painting in certain areas of the exterior, primarilty deck fences, in order to bring the complex to a quality appearance, and to postpone the need for an entire "re-do" for a few more years. This company sent a crew of up to nine people, which worked for approximately a week and a half. During the project, several "extras" were added, which the crew completed in 28 man-hours.

Very good experience. I called for an estimate and Bill called me back right away and made an appointment to come to the house. He arrived right on time and walked the perimeter of the house and garage with me. He suggested a new color for the two doors which was perfect. His crew showed up when scheduled and pressure washed the house one day and then returned two days later to paint the doors and the garage. All of the work was done very well and the house left very clean. Bill was up front with me that the house probably needed to be completely painted and he gave me a bid for that as well. That will be done probably in the next year or so and I would not hesitate to use Seattle Paint and Drywall for that work.

We are extremely pleased with the professional painting of our home by Seattle Paint & Drywall, Inc. The expertise of this company is evident from the presentation of the vast array of color shades to the smooth completion of the tasks. We are very delighted with the quality painting of several areas of our home, including the entrance door, inside and out. We also appreciated the timely manner everything was completed in and NOT finding any spills or paint on our hardwood floors through out. All painting was seamless and flawless! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANIES SPECIALIZED SERVICES TO ALL ! Thanks for the GREAT job ETHAN, Luis Lara (painter) and his helper.

The painting crew was amazingly neat and clean. The area was occupied by vehicles and other property so the masking had to be perfect. We had zero problems with over-spray and spillage. The painters were punctual and on task. The accent stripe has clean crisp lines with no signs of paint bleeding under the tape. I have used Seattle Paint & Drywall in the past to do exterior work and was equally impressed with their work.
Description of Work: I had Seattle Paint & Drywall paint the interior of 6200 sqft warehouse. The job required a significant amount of prep work. The walls and ceilings were scraped and then throughly wiped down to remove dust and mildew. The surfaces received a coat of heavy body primer and then a finish coat. All sprayed areas were back rolled to improve adhesion and durability. An accent stripe was added around the entire wall perimeter.

The good: Actual work was high quality. Good prep, good attention to detail. The bad: Working with this company was a complete hassle. Original agreement was to match colors. Communicated with management (Ethan) and we agreed they would match existing colors - paint three samples to be sure on the exterior. Crew showed up two weeks after agreed start date with no warning. The pressure washing (part of contract) had not happened yet so crew left. Pressure washers showed up a week later, again with no warning. Painting was finally to begin about a week later - full 4 weeks after initial start date. Foreman had not been told about paint colors. When I explained that we were going to match as agreed (4 weeks earlier) he tried to convince me to go with stock colors as we were now pressed for time with rainy season coming. We pushed back. They painted three samples which did not match. We insisted on a match. Were told it might delay job several days to a week. We escalated a complaint. Match got done next day. Although at this point there was some stress ("need to sign off on color today by 8 a.m. type of thing) as we were now pressed for time. Actual paint job was high quality. Good prep work, good attention to detail. Forgot to paint floor of gazebo. I explained this was part of contract. They needed a different type of paint so they said they would come back. Four weeks later I had no word on this. I left a message and got no response. At that point I get a collection call from the accountant. I had not paid because job had not been completed. I explained work not done. Interaction from them at this point was that they were annoyed - they seemed to think that I shouldn't expect them to complete the job? Took two more visits to complete the floor painting. But, I was not aware when it was done as they did not schedule it and I was not checking it every day. At that point got an angry collection call from owner. I had not paid because I was not aware the floor paint had been completed. I paid the next day via credit card as I was told to settle next day and I could not come home to meet them to hand them a check because of work commitments. They charged me 3% to use the card. So in summary: Jose (foreman) and crew did very high quality work. They were difficult to work with though and communication was awful. The annoyance about me not paying when the job was not done was a little over the top. The 3% was salt on the wound. I would find someone else who also does high quality work who is less effort to work with. I priced this out vs. another A rated Angie's list customer at Bid. This company was more but I figured I was paying for service which turned out not to be the case.

They were excellent and did a great job. They were on time and worked steadily on the house until it was done. They were professional and were very helpful and willing to work with us on choosing the colors for our home. They did a quality job and they cleaned up very well. They also pressure washed the concrete around our home, so I would say that they went above and beyond. The price is a little high but it's well worth it for the quality you get, so it was worth paying a little more.

The SPD estimator showed up right on time and carried out the estimate. They were suppose to send it to me. I didn't get the estimate. Several days later I called and left a voice mail that I was still waiting for the estimate. It never arrived. A couple weeks later, I got a call asking whether I had selected a vendor. I explained I never got the bid. We're not sure why I never got either the e-mail, or hardcopy, or mailed copy but, I never did. The estimator was quite apologetic but, it was too late, I had already arranged for another company to complete the work.

Ethan and his painter were very friendly and professional. The painter came and prepped the door one day then came back and painted it a couple days later. He was very concerned about doing a clean and neat job so he took a lot of care to protect the areas around the door that weren't to be painted. He even put a coat of paint on the molding around the door at no extra charge. I would recommend them to anyone looking for this service.

When I started building the garage I called painting companies to get an estimate. I contacted four top rated companies from Angie's list. No one would give me an estimate until the garage was built and one was already booked for the summer. One got back to me very late. Two came out to give estimates and offered to squeeze me in. Both said it was a very easy job as most everything was preprimed and there is easy access. I chose Seattle Paint and Dry wall as they were about 45% less than the other company and behaved the most professionally. Scheduling was a bit tricky but we did manage to find a day. They use Rodda Paints and purchase them for you. I picked out the colors at the Rodda paint store and gave the lead, Jose the number over the phone. Jose came the next day and three crew members joined him. The work was done in less than a day and looks great. I was concerned about over spray onto my neighbor's fence but this did not happen and they cleaned up well.
Description of Work: The exterior of my newly constructed 20X20 garage was painted. The garage has Hardiplank siding with wood trim. The siding and underside of roof were painted one color, the people door a different color and trim a third color. The two car metal garage door was left white.

Overall the staff is very responsive to requests, but it sometimes took 36-48 hours to get a response. When the painting staff were on the job, they did an excellent job of asking us about small details of the paint job, did an excellent job painting the house with only a few flaws which were quickly fixed. Painting staff quickly returned one year after job completed when paint bubbles emerged. Unfortunately, five years later, the paint that they recommended (Rodda) is chipping much more than the previous brand.

I called to get an estimate to have our almost 3000 sq ft house painted. They came on time to give us an estimate and e-mailed it to us as promised. So far, so good. After researching exterior paint jobs on Angie's list and reading what other people had paid, I was surprised at the high cost of the estimate, but didn't think too much about it until our second estimate. The second estimate, from a company not on Angie's list, but recommended by a real estate agent, came in about $5000 dollars less than the initial estimate. $5000 dollars!! I was surprised at the price difference, to say the least. Seattle drywall was very good about continuing to call to see if we got the estimate, and then several times after to see if we had made a decision. What really got me was when my husband told them we had decided to go with the other company because the bid was so much lower. The response was, "yeah, my manager and I were thinking that we should probably drop the price $5000." We live in a nice neighborhood near downtown Bellevue and it seems to me the company decided to pad the estimate just to see if they could get away with it. I will not be calling Seattle Drywall for any future jobs.

GOOD - Quality - The job was perfect! Timeliness in starting project - I requested Ethan to finish the project within 10 days of signing the contract to surprise my family who was out on vacation. Somehow, Seattle Paint and dry wall has a crew available anytime and he located an excellent crew who most of the exterior coat in 2. days. My family got the surprise when they returned. Flexibility - I changed the color I wanted on the side door and block letters on my house after seeing the first quote did not match my taste. Ethan did it for no extra cost. Integrity - I did not have to pay a single dime until I was satisfied with the job. CONCERNS - Delay in finishing - Finishing the work took 3-4 weeks to reschedule. The contractor who came to finish the job a week after most of exteriors were repainted, left the door 10% unfinished and did not do the planned walkthrough, but left suddenly. I rescheduled with Ethan and due to other emergencies that Ethan was attending to, it took another 2-3 weeks to get his crew to come on a day I was free. I got a call from the billing department once before the job was actually finished Pricing - Other competing quotes showed that the quote from Seattle Paint and drywall was almost twice. I settled with SPD given their reputation, assurance of licensed, bonded, insured workers and thorough project plan. Other lower quotes did not include the second coat of paint.
