The house looks great. The coordinator addressed any concerns or questions we had. Everything was clean and neat. They matched the paint color and used the brand we selected. The company made sure we were satisfied before submitting the bill.

Seattle Paint gave me an estimate and offered various types of options--I had wall paper that I wanted to have removed--wall paper must have been put on with "Super Glue". Also did dry wall repairs. Workers were very professional and took great care with placement of tape/covers. Very happy with work and will use this company for additional painting.

Wow. Unbelievable. We've worked with a lot of contractors, but I have never found a team more professional, versatile, expertly skilled, flexible, and fun to work with than this company. We bought a new 3,600 square foot home that was only 5 years old, but in a horrible state of disrepair from being empty for a long time, and then being rented. Every wall had been ruined and needed to be repainted. We hired SP&D because of their Angie's List reviews, and they did not disappoint. Tim did our estimate. He made a lot of mistakes on our estimates, so you do have to go through it carefully, but he was always quick to correct everything, and was patient with us when we changed our mind several times and asked for his advice on some items. The price was very reasonable (we got two other bids besides his). We had a very narrow window of time to get the painting done before we had to move in. We were working with eight other contractors, and gave SP&D a precise window of 7 days to get their work done AFTER the old carpet was ripped out and BEFORE the installers showed up to lay down new carpet. SP&D sent two men to do the painting. I don't know how these 2 guys did it, but they were SO fast and their painting was exquisite. We've had a BAD paint job in the past, so we know lousy painting when we see it. This team cut exact lines against the ceiling, and beautifully precise lines against the darker accent colors. The paint was very high quality and the coats were nice and thick. They fixed all the nail holes and protruding nails, and did a stellar job with the chair rail install in the girl's bedroom. Anthony was our project manager, and did an amazing job handling all of our extra requests. At one point, I was disappointed when a color I had chosen was not as dark on the wall as I had expected. Anthony jumped in his car, had a couple of new samples mixed, came back to help me decide which color to choose, and then had his guys repaint over the lighter color without extra charge. When we saw the beautiful work the paint team was doing, we started adding a whole lot of other work -- painting the walls and ceiling in the garage, painting epoxy on the garage floor, re-caulking the entire house, painting the front door inside and out. Anthony did the front door, the garage epoxy, and the re-caulk himself, to make sure we were done in our narrow window of time even with all the add-ons. He was polite, agreeable, easy to work with, fun and friendly, and an excellent manager of his team. It's now been almost three months since we've had them do the work, and we still cannot find fault with any of it. We have not had to call the company back to fix anything (which is a shame, because we would actually enjoy having them back!) We love the colors on our walls and are thrilled with the green and pink girl's room with white chair rail. It's perfect. The garage is spotless and beautiful (a far cry from how we had originally found it when we bought the house). We are VERY happy customers.
Description of Work: Painted every wall and some ceilings throughout our 3,600 square foot home, including some blue accent walls; painted interior and exterior of front door; installed a chair rail in girl's bedroom; ripped out cabinet fixture in laundry room; painted the entire garage -- walls and ceiling; painted epoxy on the garage floor; and re-caulked the entire house.

I have to give Seattle Paint & Drywall a very mixed review. Some things were great; some things were not. Patrick, the estimator (and owner, I think?), was hands-down the best person that we talked with. We wanted some non-standard work done, and most of the other folks we talked to sounded like they had no interest in doing something non-standard, so we were really impressed with Patrick's enthusiasm. He sent us a few quotes, including different options for the work that we wanted done. The final quote seemed pretty reasonable. They told us that the whole job should take about a week. So we scheduled our movers for the Monday after. Sadly, things only got worse from here. The painters arrived on Monday. When we showed up, we decided that the ceilings didn't need to be sanded and refinished after all, but that we did want to paint the trim. The lead painter called up his boss, and I got a call from an administrative assistant, who asked me to give a verbal approval for the price change. I was kind of surprised at how big the price difference was; the extra amount for painting the trim ($1,500) was five times as much as the savings from not sanding and refinishing the entire ceiling ($300), which seemed hard to believe. But we had already signed the contract, so there wasn't much else we could do. On Friday, we stopped by to see how things we were going. We were dismayed to find the place in total disarray. They were barely halfway through with the paint job, and there were painting supplies (and stray paint) everywhere. The place had started out relatively clean, and now it was a total mess. In addition, some of the painting work was pretty shoddy. Instead of following the technique that we had requested, they had basically just brushed paint haphazardly on the wall. We told them that the state of the walls was unacceptable, and they said that they'd redo it. We also reminded them that the movers were coming on Monday, and they promised to have the place cleaned up so that we could move in. Monday came around, and the place looked a little better; there was at least enough free space for us to fit all our boxes and furniture. But it was still pretty messy, and because the paint job wasn't even close to done, we couldn't really unpack most of our boxes, nor could we put most of our furniture in place. At least, thankfully, the bedroom was mostly done, so I could set up our bed. Aside from that, for the next couple of days, we were basically living in a construction zone. In addition, when we were moving in, we ran into a new neighbor. She mentioned how the hallway carpets had just been cleaned, and the painters were getting paint and dirt all over everything. Needless to say, this isn't the first impression that we wanted to give our neighbors! On Wednesday (I think), the painters finally finished up, packed up their stuff, and left. Unfortunately, they also left a huge mess. And, as we gradually found out over the next couple of days, there were also tons of things that hadn't been finished properly, or that had been done really poorly. Undersides of cabinet shelves hadn't been painted at all; they still hadn't gotten the special technique right on the walls; there were big areas that clearly still needed a second coat; and they even broke our paper towel dispenser. We called up Patrick, and the painters were back, this time with a supervisor. The supervisor walked through the condo with us, and made a huge list of all the things that they needed to get done, including "clean the d*** floor" (his words). By the end of the day, the paint job finally looked finished, but we still needed to wait another 24 hours for everything to dry before we could really set everything up. About a month went by, and we didn't hear anything from them. Eventually, we received the bill. It was yet another disappointment and surprise. First, even though we had "downgraded" the quality of the paint (the bid was for Rodda, the paint we got was Valspar), it turned out that the Valspar was much more expensive, because they paid retail. So we had an extra charge for that. Second, there were $1,500 worth of hourly charges for additional work. The hours were way overstated (and we eventually got the charges reduced), but even so, it seemed excessive for what they accomplished. The moral of the story, for us? First, never sign a contract that includes hourly billing. Second, never sign a contract that doesn't clearly separate materials from labor. Third, find out other people's experience of what happens when you ask for a contract change. Fourth, don't assume that a good estimator always has good people working for him. In the end, we're reasonably satisfied with the work that was done, but we're definitely not happy with how much work it took to get here, and how much money we had to spend. We'll definitely be looking elsewhere the next time we need painting and drywall work.

Sorry to have had you have such a negative experience with us. As the employer of this company for years now, it surprises me that you would have had such a bad experience. The painters you were provided have had raive reveiws. Also, the forman was the same person the previous member reported about, by the name of Anthony. These employees are highly thought of here in this company. We will review this project and talk with all parties involved to determine what may have gone wrong. It is a primary concern of ours when we get such a report. If there is something that we could do for you on our part that could bring about a better experience with us, please feel free to contact our office.

I made an appointment to meet with Anthony at the house. I wanted an estimate for exterior painting. The day before our appointment, he asked to reschedule me for 1-1/2 hours later: apparently, he had had me double-booked. Since my morning was free, I agreed to the later hour. That day, 10:00 a.m. and I drive from First Hill to the University District (Seattle) to meet Anthony. When I'm only minutes away, I get an SMS from Anthony, and a voicemail from the secretary. They want to reschedule again, for the afternoon, because Anthony is stuck with a client. You know, rescheduling me once is enough. Asking to reschedule again after I have driven to the site of the appointment, is unprofessional, don't you think? It left a bad taste in my mouth. I decided not to reschedule with Anthony a second time. The secretary was very sorry, and so was I.

Unfortunately, sometimes situations such as this happen in business. We did, on our part double book but, while at the prior appointment, another member had many questions she wanted answered about her project. After rescheduling once, our estimator took longer with the other member than he thought it would take. We do our best to service each member as they need us. Sorry for causing an inconvience. Hope your project went well.

They painted a large living room/dining room area. They sent 2 guys out for 4 hours. I had mistakenly bought ceiling paint, not wall paint; I realized this after the first coat went up. The paint store, the painters, and I had all missed it. I went back to the paint store and got the right paint, and had to have them come back and repaint. They were very good and very professional; I appreciated their work. I would hire them again.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company. After several phone calls to Patrick to reschedule my interior painting job (due to roof work that needed to be completed first), I called the day before to tell them a few details about the job, and I WAS NOT EVEN on their schedule! That was the first big red flag. Secondly, I specifically asked for an experienced interior painter, and I got just the opposite. So much so, that the painter did damage to our kitchen baseboards and now they will have to be replaced. I will not be using this company again.

The real truth of this matter is this. She bought the coupon in early winter. She called and scheduled to have the work done, then cancelled, She did this twice. The last time was in July. Then, later, after the coupon had expired, she called to use it in Oct. We went ahead on honored it because we appreciate all our members. When she called to verify that we would be coming, we simply checked to make sure our scheduling was right and said we would be there and we were. The coupon requires that the paint is provided by the member but she did not have it ready and asked if we could pick it up. She would prepay for it. We went ahead and accommodated her. We painted more than eight hours becuase she did not buy enough paint. We again accommodated and made another trip. The base board she speaks of is a photo finish paper type of woodwork and was already in quite disarray. On our part, we taped it off to protect it and when pulling the tape two small pieces about one inch each came off. We told her we would gladly replace the piece. She told us she would let us know when we could do that. Instead we got this report. We called her in regards to this report and she simply asked why we were calling her at home. We told her this was the number she had provided. Her next answer was if we try to call again she would notify the police. We simply appologized and hung up. All this is to say we did everything in our power to satisfy this women's wishes and we end up with this type of report. We always reply to all our reports with a positive attitude we believe they help improve our service. We rarely need to defend our reputation. We would ask that you overlook this report and look at the bigger picture of who we are as a great company to work with. The Staff at Seattle Paint and Drywall co.

The job went as well as could be expected-no problems. Two guys showed up on time and treated our property with respect. They made sure they covered the floors completely and pulled all the moldings out a fraction before taping them off. Cut in work was done well. They also laid a trail of drop cloths to the outside door so they would have something to walk on as they were going in and out. The job took a few hours longer than expected but I was not charged any extra. They finished it all in one day which was nice.

I wanted a change, needed something different from all the bland white walls in my house. Wanted to make it more, me so to speak. I called around to a few different companies and was recommended to Seattle Paint and Drywall by a dear, long time friend. They were quick to respond and even came out the next day, at a time that fit my schedule. I'm a very colorful person and wanted my house to reflect that and it definitely does! The guys who came to do the work were precise and I couldn't be happier with my house! They're very friendly and efficient! It went great, really like these guys! Super nice, did a great job. They were not the cheapest bid I got, but they definitely gave a lot of detail on how they were going to do the work. Quite knowledgeable. The bid process was good - I like how communicative Zakkary was. I believe they did a higher quality job than the lower priced quote would have. Once or twice I thought they were coming over and then they didn't show up till the next day or two. I think the issues were weather related - and it didn't bother me. They did not ask for any of the money until the job was done which made me feel very secure. I knew once they started that they were going to finish. They were actually quite fast once they got going. Left the place clean and neat. We plan on using them again in the future.

I needed help painting a couple areas in my house with tall ceilings. Instead of one painter for 8 hours, two painters came and they worked for 4 hours. Honestly, I think one guy for 8 hours would have been more efficient, but this basically worked out. Anyway, these guys were mostly courteous and did a fine job -- nothing extraordinary. In retrospect I would have much rather paid someone for specifically what I needed, not a time commitment, since it felt like we needed to rush to get all of the work done.

.Everything went great, the people who performed the work were always punctual, cleaned up every night, and very polite. They went above and beyond, like pressure washing the roof AND the deck. This was not in the agreement, and it was very much appreciated. David Fike was always friendly and went out of his way to explain everything before it happened. They had a fantastic carpenter who replaced many boards that were cracking, rotting and peeling very badly. I got three bids, this was not the cheapest, but it was the BEST I am sure. You get what you pay for. Do not hesitate to give these guys a call!

Seattle Paint & Drywall were excellent! I got three estimates and chose these guys because their customer service was spectacular. They showed up on time, got the job done in the amount of time they estimated, and did a great job. From the first contact with them to the end of the project they were very attentive, professional and friendly, and so easy to work with. I will definitely use them again the next time we need our house painted. It looks sooooo nice.

I purchased the Big Deal for a day of painting. There was no painting completed though as they power washed then offered to give me a painting estimate on top of that at a discount. They were very nice and the power washing was done nicely. The gentelman that I dealt with was very nice as well. I do not believe that was a good deal or discount seeing as how this was for painting and none was done. I was unhappy because I feel as if I could have found someone to power wash for cheaper and saved the deal for the painting. I agreed to their suggestion that the power washing needed to be done first.

This is a very strange grade. First of all she did request some advice on how she could use her coupon and we gave her a couple of options. After choosing the pressure wash option she decided she wishes she had chose the interior option. I don't know what to say to that. In regards to the grade everything is either an (A) or a (B) not sure how we ended up with a (D) very puzzling. Sorry for your disappointed out come.

Seattle Paint and Drywall was one of three quotes I got. Patrick Sears of Seattle Pain and Drywall was the most knowledgable and articulate of all the contractors who came to meet with me. Unfortunatly, he was also the most expensive so I didn't go with him. Unfortunatly for me that is! We went with another company "Seattle Contractor Services" What a nightmare - feel free to look up my "review" about them. After, understanding how awful the other cheaper company was I asked Patrick to come back and do the work. He was of course booked up by then but he went out of his way to squeeze me in. The painters were there every morning on time and did a great job. They discussed any concerns with me in the a.m. before I went to work and everything was done as requested when I got home. The house looks great and I'll be having them back next spring to finish the rest of the house (long story but the front on my house is different wood than the rest and needed immediate attention). If you want the job done right the first time I'd go with these guys. Moral of the story: you get what you pay for. Although they were a bit more expensive they weren't that much more and I'd rather pay for peace of mind and satisfaction. Thanks guys - see you next spring. :0)
