We did a cosmetic remodel of our 4000 square foot house (interior and exterior paint, hardwoods, kitchen, carpets, built-ins, etc). During this process we worked with a number of carpenters, painters and contractors. Of all the individuals we worked with, our experience working with Vasiliy was by far the best. He and his crew were polite, hard working and cleaned up every day before going home. In order to complete all the different projects, each contractor had to maintain a tight schedule. Vasiliy's crew started and completed the job on time. they were very patient with our indecisiveness about the type of wood and the stain. They applied several different stain colors and sheens on the floor to help us make our decision. During the install, we decided to redo one of the staircases that wasn't part of the original bid. This was not a problem for Vasiliy. He ordered the material, brought in additional help and was still able to complete the job on schedule. The floors turned out beautifully. We were told by one of the other carpenters working on the house that the floors were the best he had seen (apparently it's common to have very fine scratches throughout when you have sight finished flooring and the carpenter was impressed that there appeared to be none). It has now been one year since completion of the remodel and we still love the floors! I contacted Vasiliy last week because I accidentally removed the finish in a small section and I wanted to have him repair it. He returned my call the same day and we arranged a time for him to assess the damage. He is extremely service minded, honest and does amazing work. I highly recommend his company.

Met with the owner Vasiliy in Oct. and he emailed me a professional and reasonable bid. I have oak floors on my main level which consists of 80yr+ & 25yr oak. I had him install new red oak in a new room which is 13x20 and the new oak had to be weaved into the 25yr old kitchen oak. They were fast and did a great job weaving the oak. Next they removed all the shoe trim in the living, dining and hall way. I did feel they could have cut the shoe from the baseboard a little more carefully and that would have saved me work on the baseboard. Everything was sanded without much dust. Vasiliy came with stain colors and very patiently mixed colors and wiped them on the oak until I was happy with the color. I mean very patient. The stain was applied and left to dry. He then applied three coats of top coat with sanding between each coat. Since I didn't know what to expect I do wish he had explained what it would look like between coats and that the sanding in between would remove any little particles. The shoe trim was put back on and they were done. The crew was efficient, friendly and Vasiliy was there every day either to work or get the crew going. They really know what they are doing and my floors are beautiful!

I'm perplexed by all of these positive ratings. Maybe it's because some of us just take our business elsewhere and don't take the time to be honest when we're unhappy. This individual was a No-Show No-call until a phone call later in the evening on the day of our initial Consultation. He was a half hour late on our re-scheduled Consultation the following week, and he never sent us the promised email with job estimates, etc. TOTAL DISRESPECT.

This project went exceedingly well. This provider is prompt and responsive and did an excellent job on the floors. I would recommend them to anyone.

Needed my oak hardwoods sanded and finished as part of my kitchen remodel. I called Vasiliy and he came out the same day to take measurements. While he was here he was very friendly and knowledgeable about his profession. The next day he sent me a quote via an online link, which was very easy to understand and I really liked how I could add optional treatments, comments and questions as well. His price was in line with what I was looking to pay, and he beat a few other bids I had received. So we set up a date for the job and he was at my house right on time. Three days later he was done and when we came to look at the results I was pleasantly surprised, it looked like I had brand new floors! The Swedish finish looked great, nothing was missed or damaged. I highly recommend using this company if you want your old beat up hardwoods to look like new! Thanks Vasiliy!

I was very happy with the work. We were on a tight schedule and they stayed on task and on time in completing the work. They were professional and pleasant to work with throughout the entire process. I did shop around and found his quote to be very competitive.

In 2008 we hired Vasiliy to refinish some very old fir floors in a house on North Capitol Hill. We were leery about how they would come out since they were badly worn and very old. The floors looked amazing after Vasiliy refinished them. The home was rented and after the tenant moved out there has been some significant damage. I called Vasiliy to take a look. He came right over and we have a plan in place. Vasiliy also installed brand new oak floors in our kitchen in 2008. They are so nice and we are so pleased that we found Vasiliy of NW Premium Floors to do the job. Vasiliy is a great person to work with. He takes pride in his work. We are extremely happy with his work and will definitely call on him again.

We closed on our house on November 29th, 2012 and had 30 days to clean, fix and finish hardwood floors and remodel kitchen. In our limited time, we had to get carpets removed and hardwoods refinished ASAP to coordinate with the other pending jobs. They answered their phone, came over right away, gave a very knowledgeable and seemingly complete quote. The young man was always prepared, professional and on time. They were very prompt, skillful, and finished the job accordingly. I will call them again as the need arises!

The work was done in the time frame estimated. They did good work and in the end the flooring looks great. We had some difficulty in planning with them at times, and at times we weren't sure if they had understood our request or not, but they did everything we had wanted. They could have been a bit quicker to respond to a few fix-up requests we had after the whole job was completed, overall we were very pleased with the results.

This crew was great, on time, on estimate, fast, professional, checked with us on the stain color before doing the job. Our house is looks totally different. We love their work, and our new floor!!! I would highly recommend this hardwood floor team to anyone. Great job!

From the first contact, the professionalism was there. It was the most knowledgeable quote we received. The work was done exactly as described starting with sanding a small area of the floor and providing various stain samples directly on our wood so we could see the actual color they would take on....not just a sample. It was very helpful. They were meticulous in their work and the finished product is beautiful. Excellent follow up too. Vasiliy even created a large sample of wood with the floor to use in furniture/rug selection. Great job!

We got 4 bids from businesses we found on Angie's LIst for the install of our new hardwoods. Vasisiy's bid was the lowest of the four. He was also exactly on time and followed through in everything he said he would do. Two installers arrived on Sept. 13th. It took about 5 hours to take out all the carpeting, hardwood entry and tack strip. It then took 10 hours to install the hardwood flooring. Watching the two young men work was like watching a ballet-sliding the preplaced wood into place and nailing it down. Making exact cuts to make each piece fit just perfectly. They left our house at about 10:30 PM(they cleared it with us first to make sure it was OK to work that late). After finishing up with the install of the wood they also cleaned up all the wood cuts, sawdust, old carpet, pad etc so that everything was tidy and in place when they left on Thursday night. On Saturday Vasiliy came buy to have us choose a stain color. He sanded a spot in our dining room and actually put the stain on the floor so we could see it in natural light. We chose a honey brown color-not too light and not too dark. They let the wood sit in place for three days and then did all the sanding, staining and swedish finishing coats. From Monday to Thursday we were in a motel and were able to return to our house on Thursday evening. The stain smell was pretty strong for about 2 days. We left windows open to air out the house. Friends warned us about all the dust we were going to find all over our house but we did not find that to be true. There was very little to no dust. We were told to not put furniture on the floor for three days. We actually waited a week to let things cure more. We just this week put some area rugs on the living room and family room floors. The floors are breathtakingly beautiful. From start to finish we were DELIGHTED with quality of Vasiliy's work and that of his team. I never once worried about their skill, integrity or if we had made the right decision. I would pick the NW Premium Hardwoods team again and recommend them to anyone considering having any work done for flooring install or refinishing.

Overall, we did not have a positive experience with this job. To start, Visaly was great at providing the estimate and he was in the range (although a bit higher) with other vendors we sourced on Angie's list. What appealed most to us was his willingness and availability to start the job right away. One suggestion is to take your time on the estimate and ask lots of questions. I mistakenly thought he asked me whether I wanted MDF quarter-round, but instead he was asking me if I wanted MDF risers. I therefore discovered this miscommunication once the job was completely done and beyond the point of no return, as he has already installed the stairs. Had I been quoted for oak risers like I thought I was getting, instead of MDF, than I'm guessing the quote would have been even higher. That may have factored into whether I chose this vendor. Overall, the project was on schedule, but it was very difficult to understand "when" I could access the house. At a few points, I had to ask for clarification and discovered that we weren't on the same page in terms of understanding how long the floor would take to cure, etc. Perhaps it was my communication style, but clearly, it was difficult. So be very clear and ask questions about when you could walk on the floors, put furniture on the floors, etc. We learned that "getting in the house" and "putting furniture on the floors" is a difference of three days, so take that into consideration when planning. The worst part came when the project was finished. On the "new" floor -- brand-new hardwoods that they installed -- there were quarter-sized blotches of wood putty that has been finsihed over. This was in the center of the room in perhaps one of the worst, most noticeable spots. There were two other areas that also looked pretty bad. We called Visaly and he came out and inspected the work. He offered us a small credit ($300) or offered to replace the affected pieces. Given the terrible look, we elected to have him replace the pieces. He did this on the spot, and I appreciated the effot to try and make the job right. But now the finish is way off between the panels. At first, it was way too flat compared to the rest of the surrounding wood, and after having him come out to put another coat, it is now too glossy. There are also numerous dust particiles in the re-patched areas. As I reflect on this, I almost wish we would have left the huge blotchy marks instead of having a huge patch of the floor redone. It just doesn't look good, and I'm sad that I spent so much money to be unsatisfied. He also damaged our walls while doing the stairs. We hired movers to protect our staircase, and the movers did a fantastic job. Sadly, there were at least five or six gashes in the walls after the flooring crew finished. They also didn't use the proper type of tape to hang plastic in our kitchen, and when they removed the plastic, the tape door our drywall, and the kitchen ceiling needed repainting. To his credit, Visaly offered to cover this cost immediately without any challenge. We have since noticed several black marks on our walls. I'm guessing it might be where the sanding machine handle hit the walls. Overally, Visally was pleasant to work with and understanding of the challenges with the quality. I take responsibility for the misquote and communication issues. But I must mark this company down for the very poor quality of the job. To me, it was unacceptable on several levels.

We used NW Hardwoods to install our new bamboo floors. Vasiliy came to our house and measured for the project and answered our many questions. We had the estimate the next day. We got 4 other estimates and his was the most complete and easy to understand. We were very comfortable with hiring him to do the work. The installation crew was punctual and pleasant. Their work was exacting. They cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. In our opinion they did and outstanding job and we are well- pleased with their workmanship. The floor is beautiful. AND the estimate was exact too. Down to the penny.

All went very well.Work was done on time and as promised. The floors look like new and the stairs show expert craftmanship.

Spent 45 min on site explaining his ideas, taking measurements, answering questions. b) Provided a fair bid (we matched with 2 others). c) Finished installation of wood in 1 day (estimate was two). Even helped us move furniture out. d) Took 3 days for sanding and staining - we had to stay at another apartment. (e) Was prompt in responding to emails during this process - even though we had a lot of detailed questions. Floors look beautiful. Very professional. Highly recommended.

When I called Vasiliy, he was very prompt about coming out to give me an estimate. After accepting the estimate, he scheduled the time for the work to start. The wood was delivered a few days before the work began. I know contractors have multiple jobs going at one time and have to schedule new work around jobs being finished and can't definately give a date when things will start. That would be my only complaint, I wasn't always sure when work would start until the day before, which left us only one day to move all the furniture. But we made it work. From the time work started to the time it was finished, Vasiliy and his crew were very professional, except for......I don't really like workers coming into my home and playing loud music while they work. It is OK if they work outside, but as long as I am still home, I don't want to listen to someone elses music. The work was done quickly and very professional. They did a great job, and I love the finished floors. I am very pleased. I would certainly hire them again.

We removed the wall and doorway between the kitchen and dining room and built an archway to open up the house. This left the existing linoleum-covered fir flooring in the kitchen and original white oak in the dining room. The floors needed to be matched. Vasiliy came over and explained the process and how he would "feather in" the new flooring with the existing. So we had him and his crew in to do just that. The rip out went well. All the floors look great. The house flows nicely too. Next we're going to have Vasiliy come back to do an adjacent hallway and two bedrooms. That will complete the main floor. When we decide to refinish the floors upstairs we'll call on Vasiliy again. He and his crew were awesome and we're looking forward to working with them again.

They were able to start the job promptly and finished the whole thing in less than a week. The hardwoods look absolutely beautiful and match the existing hardwoods.

Vasiliy came the same day I called (phoned ahead when he was running a bit late), and gave advice to best match other floors. We discussed pros and cons of using pre-finished planks when other parts of the house have Swedish finish. We had a quote the next day. Vasiliy got us on his schedule in 1 1/2 weeks. His worker arrived right on time, and Vasiliy came at the end of the day. One work day later, we had a beautiful new floor with no odor, all cleaned up and ready for guests the next morning!

Vasiliy's crew was skilled at what they do. They were concerned that we were happy with their work and we were. The red oak floors look beautiful. We have a difficult fireplace with rounded edges which must have been a nightmare for these guys to make look good but they did. The only issue is that they were an hour late one morning. They claimed it was traffic but you can account for traffic. If you make an appointment with a customer, you should keep it. Nonetheless, this was only a very minor blemish on an otherwise excellent experience. On top of it, they are very clean and very price competitive. I would definitely use them again.

From the initial consultation to completion, Vasilly was terrific to work with. He's extremely knowledgeable and made excellent recomendations to seamlessly match the existing floors with the new. He was very patient as we deliberated on stain colors. He was also very flexible with our scheduling, which fluctuated due to delays with electical work, and he and his team went way above and beyond to finish right on time so that we could proceed with other remodeling. Our floors are PERFECT! The stain and finish is exact to our specifrications. The old and new floors blend perfectly, as though we laid entirely new flooring throughout our main level. The attention to detail was also top notch. Vasilly and his team scribed perfectly around a very large stone fireplace, ensuring there is no visible gap between the flooring and the stone. We were blown away by the skill, efficiency and impecable quality of their work. We can't remember the last time we've had work done to our home where everything was done exactly right the very first time. I will definiltey use NW Premium Hardwood again and would highly reccommend them for any wood flooring job. You will not find better quality and customer service elsewhere.

Highly competitve quote. Vasiliy and his team did an excellent job. We needed the floors done before we moved in, and Vasiliy was able to rearrange his schedule to fit us in. Pratically zero dust. No one could tell the baseboards were removed and replaced. The floors look amazing. One of the best contractors I've used. Highly recommend.
