I cannot say enough good things about this contractor! First, they have the best website I have ever seen. Glancing thru their gallery of jobs, shows that they lean towards high-end, artistically stunning installations. Every person in their company has a short bio page with CONTACT PHONE NUMBERS direct to their extension! Price-wise, considering the quality of glass and excellence of install, their prices are fair. For an emergency - they will come thru and literally save you from disaster, which is what my review is about. Our very large, heavy shower door (which was excellently installed by Distinctive over 5 yrs ago), had one of the spacer pads slide halfway out of the hinge. I could tell it was no longer balanced by the way it swung and was sticking. It had it on my to-do list to call them to adjust, but had put it off for many months - my very bad! Then, the other morning the top of the door finally fell out of the hinge and was barely hanging on by the lower hinge, which could have pulled out of the wall and been a smashed glass disaster! We managed to catch it and prop it up to lessen the strain on the lower hinge. In absolute panic, I called Distinctive, no answer, and then started leaving messages on each person's direct extension. No more than 10 minutes later, I started getting multiple calls back from my messages! These people check messages regularly and respond! They got a team out to us - within the hour! They righted the door back into the hinge, tightened and balanced it. Later, I called to inquire on the invoice as I had not received one and was told since no parts were needed and the technicians had been in the general neighborhood anyway, they would not charge me. These people are not only very responsive and dependable, but also willing to give someone a break once in a while!

We contacted Distinctive Glass via DistinctiveGlass.com at the recommendation of our remodel contractor to get a quote on a shower door and two mirrors. We'll also be doing additional window replacement and another shower door in the near future. Received an email back saying they'd get back to us. After ten days, there's been no response.

Beautiful, beautiful job! Steve, the estimator, took meticulous measurements during the bid process and made sure we had copies. He made a couple of trips since he didn't have the hardware samples with him the first visit. Very personable, responsive to my email questions, and had great suggestions. He explained the pros and cons of the different options and was able to give us a minimalist look that the others wanted to clutter with lots of expensive hardware. Wasn't the cheapest or most expensive but clearly the best in the area (we visited 4 showrooms and had one other bid). The installer was an expert, no silicone shows, bevel fits beautifully and explained care - all after three weeks from date of the bid. Would definitely use Distinctive again.

Everything went super-smoothly. The visit to measure and discuss was easily scheduled and went the dude presented options and suggestions. The quote came in right were we expected and arrived quickly the next day or so. Installation was sooner that we expected and again was easy to schedule and went super-quick.

The removal of the old glass and replacement of the new glass went fairly well. They sent a very experienced installer along with two novice installers. The experienced one worked hard and he was on time. He said he would be back first thing the next morning to finish. He then called the next morning to say he wouldnt be there until afternoon. I was on a tight timeline as I was having the exterior of my house painted at the same time. The glass should have been installed the week before (according to the estimaters timeline) but I was put off to the beginning of the following week. They then changed the install dates to Thursday and Friday of that week, so I was a bit frustrated and concerned about them not finishing until Friday afternoon. My painter was flexible, fortunately, so it all worked out. They stayed until 6pm Friday to finish the job. Windows look great and the new framing they needed to do looks good, too. I would use them again but be more specific about my time needs and leave more wiggle room in the schedule.

They were awesome. They were very responsive and showed up on time. They were fast, but there work was flawless. They came recommended to me by my hardware provider and they did not disappoint. They had some ideas on how to make the project look even more luxurious and it worked. He provided several options, and I was very happy with my selection. Turned out just beautiful and their bid was even a bit lower than other bids I had received.

Got offers from 3-4 groups. This was one of the lowest, and did a good job in explaining glass thickness, which is key here. Went to location and look at samples, felt good about he experience, and had a friend's recommendation to boot. Had to work about independent contractor, so schedule was iffy, but they would around our schedule very well. Great fit, excellent quality, no problems10 months later.

The estimator who came out seemed knowledgable and was easy to work with. The windows arrived a few days later than estimated. Fortunately, because of permit issues, the install was delayed so that wasn't a problem. What was a problem was when one of the installers put a foot through our ceiling will putting in a replacement window. Now, the window install was happening in the midst of the rest of the remodel, when the floor was torn up, so it was a tricky area to work. Fortunately, the installer wasn't injured and other than the hole, did no major damage. Still, no one ever apologized or checked in with us about the incident. Our general contractor (Kitchen Plus) handled the ceiling repair quickly and well so we weren't inconvenienced by it. The most egregious issue is that both of the new windows were cut smaller than intended. Inside dimensions were translated into outside dimensions. Unfortunately, we didn't know to measure the windows ahead of time so didn't know there was a problem until the windows were installed. Because of permitting delays, installing the new windows ended up as the last task. As a result, we didn't go back and have them remake the windows. We did discuss it with them and they gave us a 10% credit on the bill. While they did do the credit, they never called to let us know they were going to do it. We just saw a lower charge on our credit card bill than expected. We would not work with these people again. A big learning: measure!!! We had the windows sitting in our garage for several weeks before the install. At any time we could have measured to be sure the windows were the size we expected. They looked right visually and it never occurred to us it would be a problem. The only reason we knew is that one of the new windows was supposed to be the same height as an existing window and it was 1.5 inches too short.

Very well. I cannot think of anything they could have done better.

The person who measured for the doors was friendly, prompt and good at discussing the choices. The installers were prompt and worked quickly - I didn't get to talk with them much. We are disappointed with the product. The extra tall shower doors rattle and bend more than I would expect - perhaps a thicker glass would feel more substantial. Although they lowered the doors on the second visit, some water still gets out of the shower, so I have to wipe off the curb and floor after every shower - its not much, perhaps a tablespoon worth of splashes, but it is annoying. We have the same splashing problem with the hall bathtub/shower doors and one of the doors sticks at the end of the slide, so it is hard to open. This door cost about twice the price of a shower/tub door that you can buy from Lowes/Home Depot, so I expected more and feel like I got less than an off the shelf door.

We had a very bad experience with them. It might have been because cutting the glass shelves wasn’t their specialty. When we arrived at our new house, there was a small closet that was in the process of being converted into a little bar. The previous owner’s niece had put lighting in it without fitting it with a glass shelf. So, the last glass shelf wasn’t cut as the closet wasn’t a perfect rectangle. It needed to be cut a slant across the back of the shelf. So, we went to Distinctive Glasses with one cut glass shelf, which wasn’t the right shape and another uncut glass shelf. A very nice guy from there talked to us and looked at the shelves. We had also asked him to give me a quote for a shower, which he sent through the mail very promptly. However, he wasn’t entirely positive about the glass shelves. He wasn’t sure whether the shelves needed to be cut or grinded down. He was going to send it back to the guys in the shop and ask them. It dragged on for a while. At one point, we were told that the shelves were ready but they weren’t ready. When it was finally ready, it had chips across the back. It didn’t work anywhere near as good as the other glass shelves in the closet, which we later learnt was done by another glass company we have used. We would’ve preferred if they had told us that they couldn’t do the job rather than doing such a poor job. Now, we have put it in the closet. We didn’t call and complain to them or didn’t ask them to do a better job or replace the shelves. We didn’t give them an opportunity to clear it up. We decided to just live with it. We don’t know how they would’ve responded if we had told them that the job was terrible. We didn’t want to be associated with them again with this regard and we didn’t. They did a bad job.

We had the salesman out and he was very helpful. We were just in the process of having the tile installed when he came and he made some good suggestions which we incorporated. Their prices were competetive as we had multiple vendors quote the job. We purchased two upgrades - clear (no green) glass and had a coating put on the inside to make it easier to keep water spots from damaging the glass. Custom glass doors are pricey but it looks great. They kept us informed on the delivery dates and called 1/2 hr before arriving as we had asked. The two installation guys were great. They made sure that everything was installed properly and cleaned up before they left. We are very happy with the results.

I was pleasantly surprised w/ the product b/c the salesman told me one thing. When the product was delivered it wasn't the same product described as the salesman. It was actually better which was nice. An added bonus.

THEY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB. THEY WERE COURTEOUS, TIMELY, PRICED COMPETITIVELY, AND STAYED IN CONTACT WITH ME. THE WORK THE DID WAS SO ACCURATE AND BEAUTIFUL. IT NICELY COMPLETED OUR BATHROOM REMODEL JOB.
