Ronnie and his crew are extremely knowledgeable, professional and experienced. The work they do is extremely high quality and they do the right thing. I had two somewhat complicated projects, Country Carpenter had the expertise to tackle the challenging nature of both of them. They showed up on time, worked very hard and kept me posted the whole way through and provided solid solutions to the challenges as they came up.

The quality of the metal railing recommended is excellent, much more finished looking than what I have seen in display rooms. The look is beautiful with our traditional home. The installation is perfect even though the deck slopes away from the house, the spindles are perfectly straight. Two problems with being so good: the product is not the cheapest on the market and one must wait a while to fit into their busy schedule.

Country Carpenters was well worth the wait. Of all the deck contractors we called, none would even talk to us because they were so backed up and our job wasn't very big. Ronnie was backed up, too, but he happily came and gave us a bid. We initially felt a bit nervous about putting down a (small) deposit for a job he wouldn't be able to get to for 6 months, but we shouldn't have. Ronnie started our job when he said he would. He and his crew were fantastic--punctual, competent and respectful of our property. Our last minute design change didn't phase them. Our deck is gorgeous and we couldn't be happier. We are looking forward to working with Country Carpenters in the future.

When we hired this company they kept telling us that decking permits don't matter and we were a little afraid at first buy the guy seemed like a good guy and they have good reviews. The only thing that was good was there cheap price which we later found out is because they cut corners. The guys that did the job were late on a daily basis and left cigarette buds everywhere that I had to clean up. The inspector came out during the job and made us stop everything until we got a permit and we had to pay a fine for it. Definitely not trusting these guys again. Will have to look elsewhere for someone to finish and I still haven't gotten my deposit check back. Do Not Hire Country Carpenter please I don't want this to happen to anyone else

The deck Ronnie and his crew built is beautiful. It was a pretty good-sized project including a cantilevered segment that had to be redone and expanded with new footings and a large beam spanning the driveway. For the decking we chose PVC. The end result was a gorgeous deck that looks like it will last forever. Among the various bids we got for the deck, Country Carpenter was near the higher end, but we feel we got what we paid for. Ronnie was always very responsive to my (many) inquiries, and was very professional throughout. The bottom line is that is was a pleasure using Country Carpenter, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

They did a composite deck for us two years ago. This company did not permit our job properly and so now we are having trouble selling our home. Not only were we not impressed with their quality but we felt them asking for more money after already starting is a terrible business practice

I have no idea who this is. We didn't do this project. I would have thought that if we were part of this anger that he has he would have reached out to us to mend the issue. No contact was made to us and I checked records. I have since investigated and person does not exist. Being a contractor our name is everything because so many have ruined it for the few honest ones. I was told by Angies List that we couldn't be rated (A-F) if people were not members, but they could only put reports. Now that anyone can be a member without membership fees that went out the window so there is no credibility for anyone to say things. The only ones to do this are competitors that can't keep a good name for them selves and don't like clients talking about us fixing there work, plain and simple.

We received a well written estimate a couple days later. We ended up going with another contractor a couple weeks later, which was a little unfair to Ronnie as we changed the design several times and didn't ask him to rebid because we were so far down the road with the other design/bid. I recommend calling Ronnie, very professional guy, you can tell he knows what he's doing.

First let me say that I've hired quite a few contractors over the years and have been satisfied with just about all of them because I do the homework with referrals, friends, etc. Ronnie and his country carpenters are with the top of that list. These guys are the pros from Dover. Knowledgeable design guys, top notch finish carpenter guys, stick with it show up guys, just pros. Found some dry rotted beams/structure in the house (house is about 40 years old in a weather battered location......yep...that was extra but I"m so glad they found that as I don't want any deck accidents in my house). I went for the no maintenance cable (I hate cleaning deck rails) and 4th generation composite decking...and 6 months later...I still love it. thanks Ronnie and team.

The job went very well, loved the finished product (as did many of our neighbors), outstanding team and service. If and when we have more work, they'll be our go to. Ronnie came out and bid the job, after a couple exchanges, we were of to the races. Ronnie was easy to work with, took the time to explain things and offered various suggestions on how we might move forward. The job was performed by Joe and a couple of assistants (apologies gents, I'm not the best with name recognition). I cant say enough about Joe, the man does outstanding work and has an eye for detail. The two gentlemen working with him were on point and knew what they were doing. Everyday, they cleaned up after themselves and left the site very orderly. We went with Wolf PVC decking and a black aluminum railing which mounted to the outer perimeter of the deck so we had maximum usage of the space. We are very pleased with the results and suspect additional work will go to Ronnie and his crew from a couple of my neighbors. Use this company, you will not be disappointed.

Perfectly. Several other contractors either were booked until next year, or wouldn't do more than give me a "ballpark figure" over the phone; I don't accept "ballpark figures". Ronnie came out, looked at my project, gave me a hard number, and told me right up front he could work me in between bigger projects, but couldn't give me an exact date, but probably before the end of the year. That was good enough for me. His crew showed up Oct 31, and finished today, Nov 2. The work is outstanding.

The updated deck and railing look great - especially the railing. I'm so glad that Robbie and I discussed moving to a maintenance free railing. The additional cost was minimal compared to the look and functionality. Robbie's team showed up rain or shine & put in a full day's work. They took care to clean up after themselves and were always polite & kind to my kids and pets.

We replaced the decking and railing on an 1100 square foot deck. The old decking was 5/4 cedar and I had been replacing boards as necessary for years. Each board replacement required new staining. After a while I couldn’t take it anymore. Enter the contractors. I always get estimates from at least 3 and in this case, given the expense, I spoke with 5. I always find this part of the process difficult. Most of the contractors were people I could work with. I chose Country Carpenters because the owner Ronnie was confident we could use the existing structure which was all pressure treated lumber with the understanding that we might discover some problems when we pulled up the section that was at grade. This meant we would face change orders. For those of you who don’t know, that is pay by the hour to do work necessary and not included in the original estimate. Change orders can and often do result in excess hours slipped in by contractors. As the old decking came off we saw some joists and other problems that would need to be remedied. As I watched the work begin I kept close track, as best I could, of the additional hours necessary to resolve those problems. When Ronnie gave me the bill for the hours and materials to complete those repairs I was happily amazed that his bill was within $50 of my own calculation. He had been more than honest. As the work proceeded I was very impressed by the quality of work. Joe, a real carpenter was meticulous and diligent. I work from home and observed and interacted with Joe the entire job. I have a strong feeling that I would not have received the same quality of work from other contractors. I watched Joe plane and level all the joists something that had not been done when the original structure was built. I watched him replace a joist that had such a dip in it that there was no way it could be leveled. Every aspect of the job was done with a company attitude that we are going to do it right. The resulting deck looks amazing! Ronnie was very pleased as well and wanted to take some pictures when we had all our deck furniture and plants in place. I am not sure I’ll let him do that. The pictures I took show an amazing looking deck but our furniture not so much. I use Angie’s list very frequently and typically have good experiences. This one was exceptional.

Ronnie worked with us for almost a year as we decided on the design, materials, etc for a new deck railing. After we finally made the decision to move forward, he worked to get us squeezed into his schedule rather quickly. His team was very professional and courteous. They arrived on time, kept surprisingly quiet, and cleaned up after themselves each day. After all of the time that went by, there was a misunderstanding on the final plan. Ronnie just took care of it, being kind enough to to spend an extra day of work to make us happy. We couldn't be more pleased with how the project came out - now to go enjoy our deck!

Ronnie and his crew were a pleasure to work with. Ronnie was flexible, reliable, and a good listener. The members of his crew were smart, polite, friendly, appreciative of small favors, reliable, wonderfully skillful and precise, excellent problem-solvers, and driven by pride of craftsmanship. Everyday they thoroughly cleaned up the work site before leaving and were respectful of landscaping. The project started on time, and the work continued steadily until it was finished (despite the winter weather). The result is beautiful, and all we had hoped for. The work: Three existing decks were rebuilt/replaced. All of these decks were attached to the house. These were old decks, with rotting wood, and some structural problems due to previous maintenance and modification. Ronnie made a proposal to rebuild/restore the decks to the original architectural design. For 2 of the decks, he designed a completely new support structure to meet the modern building codes. For the third deck, the existing structure was used, after careful inspection. Two of the decks were completely removed and rebuilt. The demolition was done expertly, with all of the refuse safely and completely removed from the property. Finally, all three decks were reconstructed, and covered with Azek decking and aluminum cable railings. Throughout the job, the crew had tenderly detached and protected a large, mature grape vine that had been intertwined with one of the old deck rails. Ronnie and the crew designed and built a trellis that showcases the vine and harmonizes creatively with the new decks. Throughout the project, Ronnie listened to our ideas, let us know what he thought of them, and proposed ideas which worked out well.

The deck is perfect--beautiful and built to last. They are the best contractors that we have had working on our house in a long time. They are very skilled as well as dependable and trustworthy. They obviously are experienced and take pride in their work. Ronnie was straightforward and pleasant in our initial consultation and kept an eye on things as they went along. He came by at the end to make sure everything was perfect (it was). T.C. and Greg are true craftsman. They paid attention to every detail--level, fit, appearance. Even the screw holes were capped with plugs for an identical match to the composite material. The worksite was totally clean when they left. Everyone was friendly and courteous all the way around. This is probably the most enthusiastic review we've left on Anglie's List--and they totally deserve it.

The result is truly amazing. Ronnie and his team were able to interpret our vision and produce a beautiful, low maintenance deck that will last for years and years. All of this and they kept the cleanest job site I have ever seen -- no piles of debris, everything was bagged at the end of every day.
