+ -1 moreDo not hire this company. I paid a deposit for my project in May 2017. It was supposed to start in August 2017. I kept getting pushed back for my start time and then had no communication back from the company for 6 weeks. When they finally got back to me I was told the company was folding and I would not be getting my deposit back. So I paid them money and got nothing in return. Sounds like fraud!

Description of Work: First, our bathroom remodel is excellent! Gordy's design is just what we wanted and we are very pleased with the result. However, we were not happy with the price or the length of time it took to complete the job. Gordy originally felt he could do the job from between $40k and $60k, but once the work commenced the bid was revised to $72, due to some changes that we initiated. The final cost was $90k, double Gordy's original estimate. Also, the job took five months to complete, which is almost as long as it took for us to build our last house. Rich would give us a calendar, but it was rarely followed. Many times we would wait for a sub who would arrive sometimes hours later than the scheduled time and frequently not show at all. I will say that Rich, Jamie and Adam did a great job, but perhaps should require more diligence from their subs. In summary, the result was as expected or better. The cost and time to complete were both unacceptable."

Description of Work: Just came to our house to discuss a remodeling project. Declined to provide either an estimate or a bid, because "that's not how we work." Essentially telling us that we trust them, both design and work (clearly not wanting our input in design), and then they would provide a high quality work and an honest price. Well, may that arrogance works for some, but not for us

+ 0 moreWe found City Builders at the Home Show. We interviewed several companies and Gordy was the only one who was extremely knowlegeable in his field. Other companies on many ocassions couldn't answer our questions. We signed the contracts and the work began immediately and the project was on schedule.
Description of Work: We highly recommend this company. They are extremely knowledgeable and help guide you to a perfect solution. They know just the right questions to ask to determine your needs. The workmanship was exceptional. We get compliments all the time on the quality. Plus, a remodel can be very messy. They are extremely sensitive about ensuring after a day's work they leave the area very clean and manageable so you can still live in the environment. Everyone is so professional. They are always on time.

Description of Work: Full design and build project to remodel kitchen, family room and laundry room. The design phase turned our ideas into reality. The build phase showed incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship. The overall project took twice as l;ong as it should have. The scheduling could have been much tighter. However, the end result was worth the long time frame.

+ 0 moreI liked him but things were a little too vague. We would have been required to get a retainer to get a specific proposal from him. It wasn't like we got a real specific proposal on what we would get for the amount of money we wanted to spend. Like yeah we can build a kitchen for that much but we weren't sure what we would get.

+ 1 moreThe job turned out beautifully. I would say that you would be surprised at how beautiful the things come out. We interviewed five different companies and this was the only company who said lets not just redo the kitchen, let's make it better. I asked them how it can be made better and they told me they would put draws and I thought that was cool. The refrigerator is 8 inches from the wall and I couldn't open the door and they told me that I could get over it by bringing it 4 inches from the wall and I won't have a problem. They had to cut the cabinets and the granite and they still didn't have a problem doing that. It was phenomenal. They are going to redo our bathroom. They are fun people and they are professional.
Description of Work: I used the service of City Builders Inc about two weeks ago to refinish all my cabinets, put all draws in and rebuild everything.

+ 5 moreWe interviewed a lot of contractors and it took quite awhile to select one. When we met Gordy, the owner, we could tell he's a very confident guy. He is very straight forward as to what he's doing, how much it will cost and how much he will make. We could sit down with him and talk about what we wanted. He would listen, give us a lot of other suggestions and then we'd work out the changes with no problems. We are very pleased with the workmanship and the whole process with City Builders. From Greg, the head carpenter, to the other crew members/sub-contractors and Liz in the office, we had a very pleasant experience. We had no reservations about letting them work all day in our home without us being there, we completely trusted them.
Description of Work: We did a complete remodel of the kitchen, replaced 4 doors, extended and re-finished the kitchen hardwood floors into the family room, hallway and entry. All the cabinets are custom with cherry wood in custom stain, granite counter tops, glass tile back splash, under-cabinet lighting and new laundry room floor/cabinets. Also had some electrical changes, painting done, gas line added, and added gas range, wall oven and range hood.

+ 0 moreWe got several bids and they were all very close. They were very punctual and very professional. They had some unique ideas to consider. With a huge remodel project you have the design portion and the construction portion. They placed more emphasis on the construction part.
