I asked Smith Heating and Cooling to fix our heating/cooling system. The problem I have with this company is their deceitful billing practices. I was told that it'd be $100 for the repairman to come out plus any parts. However, in reality they charge for drive time and for the time the repairman actually takes to do the job. They ended up charging an hour and a half for drive time and labor time even though in reality he was only here about 50 minutes. The problem I have with this is that they don't tell you this up front. Furthermore, I don't really believe that their reported "driving time" is accurate. I talked with the repairman and he said he came to our house from a closeby area of town. He totally exaggerated his drive time to make an extra buck. At this point, I can't comment on the quality of his work. But I can say that they way overcharge for their services and are deceitful about it. When I asked them to address this issue, they totally stone walled me. They have very bad customer service

Terrible. I used them because in the past they had done some gas piping on a previous house which they did an ok job of. The install flex ducting. Now when they were talking about this stuff I didn't know what it was, it's basically the cheap way to do things. I had told them I wanted the job high-end and they made no efforts for this. After the install the ducting wasn't working well due to the air flow restrictions. I am now paying again to replace all this with hard pipe. Every heating company I found recommended hard pipe and was shocked at how bad this was. Also most quotes for hard pipe are less than what I paid for this. Also, the gas pipe guy drilled a hole through the hardwood floor in the 2nd story to run the pipe up. Despite my instructions to bring it up the wall. He did fix it but they charged me for the fix. To top it all off when I called to complain they said, well you agreed to the bid. I am a customer not an expert, do the job right and not blame it on me for not knowing you bid on junk.
Description of Work: I had Smith Heating out to install some new duct work, exhaust fans, and gas piping. The house is being remodeled and I had gutted to the studs.

First they did not install the intake for the main furnace in the garage. We had to call them back to install this. Then they did not install controls on the basement furnace because they said we were still building the basement. When we finished the main portion of the basement, and had the low voltage wire and thermostat installed, the furnace burned up the inducer motor, because they had installed a smaller intake and exhause pipe than allowed by the Rheem factory. Not only did they refuse to pay for the motor they destroyed, they also did not take responsibility for replacing the pipes. They said even if it was their mistake, they only are legally responsible for one year. They wanted an additional $100.00 per hour to fix their mistake.
Description of Work: Installed two new high efficiency furnaces (main in garage and basement)in a new house for us.
