Shawn, the service tech, was great. Very friendly, performed all the work well. Decided to purchase a new hot water heater from them based on the excellent service I received from both Shawn and the office staff.

We thought they did a very good job. Their people were polite and professional. Also, they kept to their original estimate.

The sales rep came to our house and gave us a bid on a new furnace and equipment options. He was very thorough and really took his time to measure our house. He told us about different equip and the costs. He printed the bid before leaving and did not pressure us to choose one furnace over another. He was very professional. Once we chose a furnace we easily scheduled an installation appt. The old gas furnace was removed and the new furnace installed. The new furnace is more efficient and required some new piping to exhaust the furnace. This was done neatly by the installer. The installer was friendly and knowledgeable. He took time to answer any questions we had regarding the new furnace. We are very happy with our new furnace and the company we chose to do the installation.

A sales appointment was setup (on a Saturday) where they evaluated the space (for the furnace) as well as my house (heat gain/loss via windows and heat registers) to ensure the proper size furnace. I was really impressed with Chris (the engineer and sales representative). I really enjoyed him and trusted him; he even offered me some space heaters out of his own home (since I had no heat). He has an engineering degree-so he knows what he's talking about :) We settled on an appropriate model and the install was set for that Monday. Although it got started 4 hours later than anticipated-this was due to illness so it's unavoidable and they communicated with me about updated expectations. The install was very involved and I was impressed with how hard the technician worked. It was a very rainy, blowy day and this poor guy had to be up on my roof -at my chimney. Once everything was complete; he checked everything to ensure proper functioning-including showing me the new thermostat and re-lighting the gas fireplace. Chris-the engineer/sales rep came out a day or two later to do a final inspection. Overall excellent experience. Chris is a gem and the company is fantastic. Have recommended to many folks already!

They were extremely professional. They did a very very thorough heat-loss analysis of the house. They were very very thorough in their calculations, measurements, and in creating that initial cost estimate for me. In total, I saw four different persons over the course of the project. There were two different project managers and two different laborers. They were very very friendly and very professional. It was a pleasure to work with them.

The estimate was professional and well done. We decided against installing the gas line because we chose an electric range. Their price was significantly higher then another bid we had.

I called based on Angie's list reports and ratings. I got an estimate on cleaning 14 furnace vents and since it was very reasonable, I scheduled the work. Levi called to tell me he was on his way and arrived promptly as scheduled. As we talked about the cleaning I mentioned I'd had it done a year ago. He told me his company recommends duct cleaning every 3 years, but said he would do the work if I wanted. After further discussion I decided not to have the cleaning done. Instead I had him perform the annual furnace maintenance which was due next month. He found that the ignitor was going bad so I had him replace it. Levi was polite, professional and knowledgeable. He patiently explained things to me. I was very satisfied and would use Ballard again.

Salesman seemed to do the most thorough job of assessing the correct size of furnace and needs for our house. Measured entire house, counted windows, discussed heating issues with our home and how to fix them. Best price of 3 bids and Trane is an excellent brand. They were able to install before end of year so we could get energy tax deduction. We had some noise issues at first but they promptly assessed the problem and fixed it. (Supports needed on old duct work and seal improved on old air filter.) Friendly and prompt installer as well. Good clean up. We are happy with furnace function. Would recommend.

The installation of the furnaces (2) and air conditioning was done in three days. We are extremely happy and impressed with the efficiency and professionalism by all the members of the Ballard Natural Gas team. We would definitely recommend Ballard Natural Gas Services to any prospective customer. They obviously train their people well.

I've been struggling with a failing furnace this winter and lately my heat had been off once a week. By the time I found this company, I was really in need of someone willing to sit down and explain to me what the different options were and why one was better than the other. Matt educated me rather than trying to scare me into a purchase. His calm demeanor and thoughtfulness was helpful as was his ability to let me know of rebates and discounts that made buying this furnace a little less expensive. The installer came right on time within two days and was also kind, professional, and ready to answer all my questions. When it was clear I would have no heat for two days, the company offered to come over and set-up space heaters in the house to make me more comfortable. The emphasis was on integrity and belief in their products. A furnace is an enormous purchase and no one expects their furnace to fail. I feel secure knowing that Ballard Natural Gas will take care of any issues that arise. This is a rare company -- one that treats customers with respect and care. I am glad to have found them.

The running of the gas line went fine. There was a mix up with the gas logs and we were very unhappy with the initial installation. Neil the General Manager became personally involved and went above and beyond to address the situation and ensure that we were satisfied. He even had his crew install the glass doors we purchased from another vendor for free and he dropped off a bottle of wine to make amends. The logs look great and we are really pleased with Ballard Natural Gas.

My furnace of 16yrs recently began having intermittent problems "starting up" and often would take several cycles before actually "firing up" and heating. I contacted Ballard Natural Gas after hours and was told that they could schedule me for the next next day and that the technician would contact me 15 minutes prior to his arrival. The technician did call me the next morning and arrived within 15 minutes as scheduled. He was even wearing shoe "booties" to protect my carpet. He set about diagnosing the problem and within about 20-30 minutes determined that my "control board" was defective and the cost to replace it was $613 installed. Not being in a position to "shop around" I agreed. The technician installed the new part and tested the furnace for correct operation all in about 1 hour. As $613 seemed like A LOT OF MONEY for a furnace circuit board I asked to keep the defective part. After the tech left I looked on the internet for the cost of the replacement part. To my surprise I found it available on multiple sites for under $230!! So according to my rough calculations I was charged almost $400 in labor for a 1 hour installation!! Now I don't know too many professionals or tradesmen making that kind of money....$400/hr!! And that was on top of the $94.50 initial "roll-up and diagnostic" charge. I then contacted "Kathleen" by phone who identified herself as part owner of the business. She vehemently defended the charge as "correct" using the "national average" per some pricing book that they use. After some spirited debate and refusing to break down the cost into "parts+labor" she admonished me that "she didn't want to get angry with me" .....wait, I thought I was the one that was angry for being overcharged and that I was the customer..? Un-f..ing-believable!!!! And no corrective offer or solution was offered. Sorry "it is what it is" we have to pay our employees benefits...yadda, yadda.....It's called "the cost of doing business" every business has them....that's where REASONABLE labor rates come into play......$400/hr? Don't get me wrong...the technician was fine, the service was prompt...but the "labor" charged is OUTRAGEOUS....john.... I gave the company a "D" on professionalism not because of the tech(who was fine)but because of "Kathleen(owner)" who apparently found it more productive to argue and "become angry with me" than to explain their "parts+labor" policy or to offer a corrective solution.

We didn't end up doing the work but they were exceptionally good. They were very good to work with and did an excellent job. I had a complicated system that I needed done with a lot of options and they really did very good at it. I was really sad that we had to put off doing the work because they really understood a complicated problem well. I would highly recommend them. They gave me different options between gas and fuel oil and different ways to reroute a bunch of ductwork to make it run more efficiently than we have it. I needed a breakdown from the least expensive to the most expensive with the different options and they did a great job of the estimate. They came up with it quickly and it was good. The prices were pretty fair. The price ran from $5,000-9,000 depending on what work I would have done.

We were satisfied w/the service overall. I cancelled an appointment to have them clean our heating ducts, as the cost was $150 more than another reputable company.

We thought we might have had a gas leak but it wasn't. We chose them from the List because it looked like they had gotten good reviews. They were timely. They did a good job. It was nothing too exciting. The price was reasonable. It was more than I would like to pay, but I don't know if it was out of line.

The technician who did the work explained a lot of operational aspects of the fireplace and how it ignites and how to clean the filter and the furnace. He gave me a lot of input, advice, and suggestions. He did a good job. He did what I asked him to do. He went beyond and gave me personal advice. The price was fair. The quality of work he did was also fine. He was on time and took almost the same time to finish the work as he told me. He was punctual. I rate him high overall.

They did a great job of cleaning my gas fireplace and installing a remote control for it; also did a good job of routine maintenance on my furnace.

Initially, we were considering a gas furnace. During the estimate process, they explained the heat pump system, and we decided on it. Until then, we'd been using an oil furnace with an above ground tank. Working with the electrician (the excellent AS You Wish), they did the job from start to finish in two days. they arranged to have someone hall away the oil tank (bought back our oil too!) and the furnace. I'd write them up, but forgot their name. They are selling a wonderful product. Our energy bills are way down, without the need for buying oil. Th equality of the air in the house has improved immeasurably. The air is "softer" - the oil heat dried things out, and there was always a subtle smell of oil - and the tank reeked. The other advantage of the heat pump is that in the summer it becomes an air conditioner - and this works well too.The technician's professionalism was exemplary.

I came home after the Christmas holiday and found that my heat was not working. I called a couple of companies and Ballard Natural Gas had the cheaper cost to come out and diagnose the problem. The technician came out to my house that evening and it took him about 30 seconds to figure out that the ignitor was broken. He informed me that a new ignitor would cost $260 on top of the $95 I was charged for him to come out to my house. In all, he spent about 30 minutes at my house and installed a $30 part for $355 plus tax. While he was honest and fixed the problem quickly, I feel the cost was pretty high for the services he provided.

Service person (Mathew) was clearly not interested on either visit of leaving me with a functional gas fireplace. He had a terrible attitude and told me early on he hates working on gas fireplaces. In my opinion, quoting $285/hour for HVAC labor was done to avoid the job. I would check on Ballard Natural Gas' hourly rates before wasting your money on a $94.50 flat fee diagnostic for gas fireplaces.
