Mountain Moving and Storage

Everything went very smooth. They wore masks and worked quickly but carefully to move our things in a timely manner. They kept in good communication prior to moving day. We would definitely hire Mountain Moving and Storage again. Peter was great to work with.

I called them and they provided the quote on the spot. They will be handling the move next Friday. They were very informative.

They came out and gave me an estimate of time to load all of my 3 bedroom house into their truck and put it into their storage facility. When the actual movers came out, it all went very smoothly. The 3 man crew inventoried all of my belongings, wrapped my furniture, and packed it into crates in their truck. The guys did it in even less time than the estimator thought, and only charged me for the hours they worked. Hiring movers is worth every penny, and these guys are awesome!

They did a great job. No scratches but they used a lot of paper in the process!

It has gone very well so far. There is one more shipment to come out of storage and I am sure it will be good as well.

They did show up on time and the price was good. When they followed me through Gig Harbor to our new home, we got to the first round about, we went left, they went straight. Took about 5-10 minutes for them to show back up again. I did get them pizza for their lunch break. Their lunch break was 30 minutes but seemed a lot longer then that. They scrapped our hallway when moving some things in. The gentleman that they sent to repair the damage to the furniture did a really good job fixing it. After unpacking, we realized that some of the boxes that they provided us with were covered in dust and got all over our clothes.

Great! They even lent us boxes. I had never seen that before. They were punctual. Gave us the "Red Carpet" treatment (they roll a neoprene "carpet" on all the high traffic areas and cover all the stairs with an adhesive plastic sheet). We have many sensitive antiques and all the workers were very skilled and careful. I didn't feel apprehensive for a moment. We had absolutely no damage or losses. It was a perfect move and I would highly recommend them. We have done 6 moves with the military and this one is at the top. This time was on our own dime and it was a great value with total peace of mind. Our team was Jesus, Max, Sean, Issac, and T. The appraisal was done by Doug and he even wore shoe covers to walk through the house.

We had more volume than anticipated because garage sale did not go as well as hoped...and still they finished faster than quoted and we only paid for time.

I was moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 2 story house on the other side of the city. Overall I was happy with their service as the workers were friendly and worked quickly. One of the reps came out and gave me an estimate for 4.5 hours and when the workers showed up on the day of the move they gave me an estimated 6 - 6.5 hours for the move including their drive time back to their office. I was a little unhappy with the inaccuracy of the estimator but they worked quick and finished in 6 hours with the 3 guys. My biggest complaint was that they damaged one of my walls when moving the last piece of the couch into the house and took a chunk of the paint and drywall off of our hallway wall. They were very apologetic, but it is not what you want to see done to a band new house. I do not know if I would use them again, and might try to find someone more professional if we moved again.

I used them about a year ago, and they did well. But, when I called to have them help me move again the prices were too high, and they did not even show up to help my niece move. I am very disappointed. I would not use them again.

I joined Angie's List to find the best of the best movers in town. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Parts from my china hutch (which was damaged in the move) were left behind by the movers. I packed them up and brought them with me (I'm sure they would have lost them anyway). Told my Sleep Number beds would be deflated and all pieces boxed up (not put in mattress box), when I said that to the men actually packing my stuff, they said no it will be fine in the mattress box. Well, one of my two split king mattresses did not get to the other side without a hole worn through the box and then through the mattress pad as well as the mattress on a corner and worn on the end of the mattress as well. One of the tubes was yanked out and this broke my clamp. I suggested taking my lamps apart and they said no they will be fine marked top load so nothing would be put on top, well that didn't happen and thus both lamps were damaged. Something I didn't understand at the time they inventoried my belongings...they write numbers and letters to describe condition of items (wood, metal, fabric). Well next to my BRAND NEW couch, they wrote "soiled" arm, bottom, corner, front, left, legs, "rubbed" seat soiled. on BRAND NEW chair/ottoman they wrote "soiled" and legs "rubbed". This was all brand new furniture- they were just covering their backsides. There was no mention of the now 7-8 places damaged on my couch on your inventory sheet. Nor the mud, wet and worn through hole on my mattress. When delivered, the driver actually asked me if it could have been there or happened when they loaded. Uh NO! It was a sunny day and this was still wet, 26 days after they picked it up (the fact it was 26 days later, will be described shortly). How do things wind up missing when all my belongings were tagged and loaded? Yet one of the items tagged was missing and another the driver of the original truck had in his cab and forgot to transfer it to the truck. He said he would mail it to me...will wait and see if that happens. The driver said I would be paid for the other missing item. Don't know who that will come from...will wait and see if that actually happens. So my contract that I signed with Mountain Moving & Storage was that my belongings would be moved from WA to VA. Picked up Jan. 24 and delivered around between Feb. 1 and Feb. 3 but no later than Feb. 13. Driver called and confirmed with date of Feb. 3 on Thursday, Jan. 30. Feb. 3 comes and I heard nothing. Called Mt. Moving & Storage and they tell me to call Stevens Worldwide Van Lines. Told by Stevens that the truck broke down on Jan. 31 in Missouri and would update me. They told me several times over that they have until Feb. 13 to get my stuff to me. Heard nothing and on Feb. 13, called Stevens again. Told the truck was still broke down and they would try to get another truck there in two days!! So what happened to having until Feb. 13 to get my stuff to me?? Informed my shipment was too small for an inconvenience fee. Stevens told so many lies during the conversations I had with them. Also, I had to initiate every one of those calls. Not once did they call me to update me on the status. They finally said they would work with Mt. Moving & Storage to get me an inconvenience fee check. Told me that they spoke with the man I contracted with. When I talked with Mt. Moving & Storage, they said they didn't even know I didn't have my belongings yet. When the new truck picked up my belongings, they didn't just pick up the trailer. They actually moved my belongings from one truck trailer to another! In the end my belongings were moved from my apartment to a shuttle truck and then brought to the warehouse where they were loaded on the truck. Then in Missouri, moved from one truck to the other. Finally at my new apartment in Virginia, moved from the truck inside. I think this is way too much handling out of sight of the owner. In the end, Mountain Moving & Storage paid the convenience fee to me and said that it was the amount that they would have made on this contract and that they actually didn't even owe it to me. I really don't care who owes me or doesn't. The facts here are that you contracted with me on behalf of Stevens Worldwide Van Lines and they blew it big time!! If they don't care enough to be stand up and make this right for the people you contract with, why in the heck would you continue to do business with this type of company that treats people absolutely horrible in a very stressful time already? I think communication on the part of both companies is lacking. The woman I had contact with at Stevens Worldwide Van Lines has to be the worst person I have ever dealt with on the phone in my entire life! She lacks any professionalism, tact, sensitivity, compassion, and respect. On the other hand, the woman I spoke with at Mountain Moving & Storage was very compassionate, professional, and respectful. This had to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had moving and we were in the military for 20 years, I know about moves! I have shared this opinion with all my friends on Facebook, my employer (who also called Stevens Worldwide Van Lines and got the same disrespect) and they wanted to use the company for other employees (which won't be happening!!), all my friends and family, as well as anyone I come in contact with and say I just moved here. My rating overall is a D and only because of the woman I spoke to on the phone at Mountain Moving & Storage and the owner agreeing to a small inconvenience fee. The price was a great price (not a too good to be true price) but in the end, the price wasn't worth it when I had to put out so much money waiting on my belongings with no work cloths, towel, bed, etc. as well as having to get my belongings fixed or replaced. I think the quality of the overall experience was atrocious. No one in a higher up position from either company has called and apologized to me or even discussed this horrible experience with me. The owner of Mountain Moving & Storage (while I didn't speak with him directly) was responsive to my situation in sending the inconvenience check right away. Punctuality??? Seriously, it took way too long to go across the US and not have this be weather related. I got my belongings faster when I moved to Guam from Florida!! Again, the only person who I had interaction with that was professional was the person I spoke with on the phone at Mountain Moving & Storage at the conclusion of this move. In conclusion, I understand that while Mountain Moving & Storage did not do the direct moving, they do contract with someone who does. The companies they contract with should be a highly skilled, professional, and trustworthy company and Stevens Worldwide Van Lines in this situation was very far from that description on all fronts. I would be ashamed to be in business with Stevens Worldwide Van Lines. When I contracted with Mountain Moving & Storage, I did so thinking that they worked with the best of the best and again, in this situation, it was not the case. When I searched movers on Angie's List, Mountain Moving & Storage is the company I went with and not Steven's Worldwide Van Lines so I believe that this all reflects poorly on Mountain Moving & Storage as well as Steven's Worldwide Van Lines.

The truck arrived as expected. Tim and Rich introduced themselves. They scoped out what was going, taking note of a few things that were staying so I could clean, and got work. They took one brief break while they were packing the van, but otherwise kept going at a fast pace. I would have bet they couldn't get everything in the truck, but they did! They followed me to the new place and unloaded at an amazing speed. When they gave me the final bill, it came in $250 less than the estimate because of the level of proficiency exhibited by these two young men. Great service!!!

Before the move, I picked up boxes to help with the packing. My parents had some furniture stored with Mountain from a previous move and we sorted through those items with the help of the movers to see what would be useful in the new apartment. Those things were loaded on the moving van and the next morning they showed up to begin the move. They were on time, respectful of the neighbors, cheerful and careful. But the move took more time then they had thought it would because my parents and aunt still needed help with the packing, and because they had more stuff then any of us could imagine. They worked all day loading up the van and arrived at the community to find the elevator crowded with the residents going down to meals. The movers made sure that the residents were not inconvenienced - they cleared the elevators quickly and remained cheerful and kind. A second truck came with back up movers to help and they worked hard until 7pm when the last items were delivered. Everything arrived in perfect condition. They were careful that my parents and aunt were safe and beds were put together before they left. These guys were gentlemen. Our family is very grateful.

They showed up at the time promised, moved everything quickly and efficiently with no damage. At the new house they set up the beds and put all the heavy furniture where we wanted it. The two men worked so much more quickly than we could have. If we had rented our own truck, talked multiple friends into helping us and bought them all lunch we could have accomplished the same thing for about $200, but it would have taken longer and been so much more exhausting. Absolutely worth it.

This is a great company to work with. I had used them in the past and for this most recent move, they actually remembered me. The move went great, nothing was broken or lost, and they even set up the bed for me. The move took less time that was originally quoted so they charged me less than the original quote. I highly suggest them and will be using them again if I need to move.
