+ -1 moreI live in a wooded area and had a near miss when the top of a dying tree nearly hit my garage, so I decided to take out dangerous trees. Two friends highly recommended Mike's Affordable Tree Service and gave me Mike's phone number. Mike came out right away to review the dangerous trees. He gave me a range of options from bucking up the felled trees in large chunks to bucking them in firewood sized pieces and grinding and hauling away the branches and debris. We agreed on an option and he gave me a date to begin. The evening before he was to start, Mike gave me a call to confirm and he and his crew showed up the next morning, right on time. H returned the next day and finished the work to my complete satisfaction. Mike knows his business and is great to deal with. He is honest and does exactly what he says he'll do, does it well and on schedule. He is personable and professional. I will have him do any future tree work I may need and will recommend him highly to friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Mike removed trees that posed a potential threat to my house and outbuildings.

+ -1 moreHad Mike out to give us an estimate he was reasonable and was able to do what we needed. On the day of he was here a bit early and got right to work with his 2 crew members took them less than 2 hours to take down the tree and do clean up of branches, we saved some money as we did clean up of logs and body of tree. We would have him out again if we need him! Thanks Mike and Team!
Description of Work: took down a 60-75 foot spruce in backyard, and did clean up.

+ -1 moreWe were not a home when he was here but he did everything he said he would do.
Description of Work: He cut down 2 large alders that would have done a lot of damage during a good wind storm had they broke. Mike did and outstanding job. I would rate him even higher if that were possible. Clean-up afterward was outstanding.

+ -1 moreI was able to get an appointment right away for a free estimate. Arrived on time and was very friendly. I showed him the tree and he let me know that it was not in need any pruning. That is was healthy as is.He was very honest and let me know that we didn't really need anything done. If we ever need tree service again we will call this company.

+ -1 moreThe service performed was absolutely perfect. I called Mike on Friday, he came out on Saturday, gave an estimate and the job was done the following Tuesday. As promised, he and his crew arrived on time, started right away and within 3.5 hours the job was done including cleanup. The price included take down tops, chip limbs and cut wood into about 18and quot; rounds. Not included in the price was the wood removal. Even for that he had a recommendation and it worked out and the wood was picked up. 8 medium size trees - a lot of wood! Mike really knows what he is doing. On time, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable with fair and reasonable pricing.
Description of Work: Removed 8 trees and did property line trim. 2 trees were very close to the house and all trees very close to the neighbor's fence, no damage occured.

+ -1 moreHe did the work. But, the rounds he left were bigger than he said they would be. They left the rounds where they fell, didn't move them at all. I guess, you have to expect that when the word "affordable" is in the company's name. All in all, I wasn't happy with the experience and would not use or reccomend this company again.

+ -1 moreMike and his two crew members arrived promptly at 9am. They managed to get his huge truck through my narrow gate without disturbing it, and he commenced with the pruning. The work took almost 3 hours and he did an excellent job. He took off nearly all of the dead wood throughout the tree, removed two major stalks, and thinned out lots of minor branches. The tree is now lighter (he estimates about 2000 lbs), but still has the same beautiful shape. He truly did serve the tree and me by extending its life. His crew did a fine job of cleaning up and stacking the logs for me. Mike has undertaken many other jobs for me. One notable task was removing an enormous Douglas Fir that was about 10 ft from a garage and maybe 3 ft from the neighbors fence. He and his crew did a meticulous job working in this cramped space. No damage to anything.
Description of Work: Last year I noticed that an old, beloved locust tree on my property had developed a split at the base where the two major sections meet. The danger is that the tree could break apart there and fall in two different directions hitting both my house and my car. But taking the tree down would leave a terrible hole in my sky, so I called Mike to ask if there was any way to keep the tree alive. He came out to look at the tree and decided that we could thin it to lighten it, and cable the major sections together. He did that, and the tree's been fine. But I've just completed a major house remodel and I wanted to be extra sure about the tree, so I called Mike to look at it again. He agreed that for peace of mind the tree could be thinned further and still look okay. I had thought about topping the tree, but he informed me that new shoots would grow thick, and long, and besides ruining the look of the tree, they would need to be removed in about four years or the tree would be just as heavy as before. So we decided on further thinning. This was the service he performed today.

+ -1 moreMike came out for an estimate and then came back two days later at a scheduled time to do the work. The work was done, the debris mulched and taken away as asked. Work was done quickly and efficiently, in about 15 minutes. I had a check made out to Mike for 250 dollars, forgetting that I had not added sales tax. I apologized, but he said the 250 was OK, and that I shouldn't bother writing another check.
Description of Work: Had a tree removed that was growing against the house and had branches rubbing against the roof. Also had lower limbs of a Doug Fir removed.

Description of Work: Mike and his crew did a fabulous job of removing a dangerous dead tree in a difficult location on our property. They chopped up the dead tree into rounds, chipped and removed all the dead limbs and even cleaned up my flower bed of debris before they left. They were prompt, courteous and fast. I couldn't stand watching him climb up such a tall tree but he was quick and efficient so I didn't have to watch for too long :)
