About us

Clients often feel overwhelmed, stressed, stuck and unsure where to start the organizing process and how to tackle the clutter. I begin with a comprehensive consultation (approx. 1.5 hours) to evaluate what's working and what's not working with a fresh set of eyes and years of experience. During the consultation I provide a labeled file folder to store the decluttering tips, maintenance tips and resources for donations that we will review together. I then return to my office to create an organizing plan, along with any resources needed, for you to follow. Some clients prefer to organize on their own with an accountability check-in from me. Other clients prefer to work side-by-side to tackle the clutter together, decide what to purge and to create systems. I love providing motivation and encouragement without judgement to help my clients meet their goals. I have found that 2-3 hour sessions accomplish A LOT while valuing your time, energy and budget. Longer sessions are available by request. I can help you organize one room or a whole house. I'd love to work together with you! In addition to residential organizing, other services offered: Business Productivity Training, Business & Time Management Consulting, Organizing & Productivity Workshops, Coaching by phone or Skype. Prior to our first meeting, Monika had us fill out a questionnaire. This was very helpful in that it forced us to clarify our thoughts on what we hoped to achieve. When we met with Monika, she spent about a half hour discussing our needs, provided us with several resource lists and an organizations folder she had prepared for us. Then she informed us what would happen when we got to the garage. When we got to the garage, we went over the whole garage, space by space, with her. She asked lots of questions regarding the items cluttering the garage. Did we use this or that, was there another place we could store it, etc. She asked about what we planned to use various areas of the garage for. Many of her questions and comments got us thinking about our "stuff" in new and different ways. She had many useful suggestions for how we could organize the different spaces. Despite our embarrassment about the state of our garage, Monika did not blink an eye, there was no sense of judgement on her part. We were grateful for that. So far we have made good progress in cleaning up the garage and feel Monika was the right person to help us.
Description of Work: Monika spent one hour helping my husband and me create a plan to clear out and organize our unusable garage.

Working with Monika to coordinate the workshop went very smoothly. Throughout the presentation Monika was personable, easy to understand and consistently responsive to participant questions. Following the workshop, parent comments indicated they felt the workshop was valuable and were glad they had attended. I have no reservations recommending Monika Kristofferson and will continue to work with her to present organization classes for our Parent Education classes.

Monika came to our home to find out what we wanted to organize. She came with reading material, suggestions for organizing files and organization materials. My husband has a very difficult time making decisions about what to keep and what to get rid off, so his office is closing around him and was so overwhelming to him that he couldn't do anything with the "mess" Monika was very patient with him as she helped him go through paper by paper assisting him in making decisions with each piece. She was very encouraging and supportive. There was always a big difference in the room when she left. She helped him set up files for his business and brought her laabeler to label them. She brought with her containes labeled toss, recycle and keep they sorted through the papers you knew what to do with them. She also helped him organize his library more efficiently so he could find the books that he needed without searching the whole ceiling to floor bookcase for them. She helped me to organize my pantry so it was more efficient. and gave me a start on going through all the years of stuff that have been accumulating in the basement since I moved in 20 years ago, especially the sentamental things that were left by my dad. She brought a list of places to give some of the things to and even called a collector to price some of my dad's collections. I will continue to ask for her help to finish organizing the basement.
Description of Work: Helped me make difficult decisions about what to do with my dad's belongings that have been in my basement for over 5 years. She also helped my husband clean and organize his room so he could find things.

I went so well that we were able to knock off early so she hauled my old household cleaners down to the hazardous waste site. One less errand to run I really appreciated!
Description of Work: Monika helped me organize my garage into logical space. It was a total mish-mash of chaos. She explained how to properly sort and organize so I am able to easily find what I want and not be overwhelmed by any messes. I love my garage now!
