I called and spoke to Mr. Lewis who understood exactly what we needed and was able to give me an estimate. Because the job was pretty straight forward, he was able to get it scheduled within two days of my call. The gentleman who did the installation was on time an everything went smoothly. We've been using the ramp for more than a week now. It looks way better than I could have hoped. It's solid and safe and we've had no problems whether a cane or walker is being used. I can't begin to say what a relief this is to me and to have the problem resolved so quickly and effectively is something I really appreciate. I also appreciate that the the fellow doing the installation took the time to explain what he was doing and why and to give me some advice on what could be done in the future should other changes to the entrance or the house be needed. I felt I was dealing with people who not only knew their jobs and how to do them, but people who understood some of the stress and worry these situations can cause people dealing with physical limitations. I wouldn't hesitate to contact RampArts again. They could not have been nicer.
Description of Work: We needed a ramp installed because a family member started having trouble with a step that led up to the house.

We needed to have the ramp installed quickly in order for my husband to be able to come home from a skilled nursing facility. Joe came out for measurements within a day or two of my first phone call, and had estimate - several of them, as I requested - back to me in another day or two. They were complete, and clear. We discussed permanent and temporary options, including metal and wood. Joe also pointed out the crossover time between rental and purchase. We discussed the options, and I ended up choosing a temporary ramp. The team was out soon thereafter; it took a little less than a day to install. The team was professional and helpful. they even worked in the rain and wind to get the ramp done, knowing that my husband needed to come home to next day. Additionally, they made recommendations for a different design if we needed to move to a permanent ramp. I've been very, very pleased with the work, and with the customer service. We're still renting the ramp, and Joe has responded promptly several times to my questions when I needed information for an insurance claim. I would use RampArts again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We needed a temporary wheelchair ramp installed for my husband, who had knee surgery. Joe Lewis from RampArts came out promptly, gave me several estimates (at my request) for permanent and temporary ramps, and made some suggestions as to how to best handle both and make permanent ones fit into our front yard, the only place a ramp could be installed. Both on the phone and in person Joe and his crew were professional, helpful, and great to work with.

I highly recommend them. What really impressed me is lat time they estimated the cost of the railing to be $900 but they found it didn't cost as much. So they charged only $600. They took one third off the price, this is really unheard of. They did excellent work. They did the job right and at a reasonable price. I would use them again.
Description of Work: They extended the railings for us.

I am a little late on this review. My 93 year old mother with bad dementia wound up from a hospital visit not being able to stand up and maneuver herself into the shower pan at her own house. To make a standard shower pan wheel chair accessible was very expensive and we did not know how long my mother can stay in her own house. I got a couple estimates to put in a no threshold shower pan and it was very expensive. Almost like a bathroom remodel. I didn't know what to do. I called Ramparts and explained the situation to them. Their carpenter built a nice custom cedar slatted platform in the shower pan and installed a portable ramp up to the platform. My mom has been enjoying being able to have a shower in a wheeled shower chair, with assistance, for a fraction of what it would have cost to redo the bathroom. It was an ingenious solution to an accessibility problem.

They were great to deal with. If I would have done it right away; I would have probably used them. They seemed knowledgeable on how to make the ramp work on our property; kind of difficult way out. They're very good on giving us a couple of different options so we could accomplish what we wish we could do.

The ramp, while expensive is well built. Will last a long time and looks very nice. There was no mess and the crew was very nice.

I got a quote from Joe Lewis who was very helpful and responsive. We ended up not getting the ramp installed at this time because my mother insisted she doesn't need it yet. However, based on my interaction with Joe, I will definitely be contacting Ramparts in the future when we are ready to move forward with the installation.

They did a great job, arrived on time, finished on time, solved some tricky site related problems and left a strong and neat installation. Unfortunately my wife's condition deteriorated rapidly and she was never able to use the ramp. Ramparts then returned and removed the ramp, leaving everything else as they originally found it. Although it was a very difficult time for me, I was extremely satisfied with Ramparts.
Description of Work: My wife was terminally ill and needed wheelchair access to our home. Ramparts came to the house, figured out a way to install a ramp and gave us a price. I gave them the go ahead on the spot

Took a little while to get estimate but only because they are in demand. The job was done very professional. Done on time. Asked for it to be done before Labor Day if possible and it was. They were very friendly . Even trimmed a little of my tree. They accidentally broke tv cable but helped cable guy fix it. The job added to the curb appeal of our home. Would recommend for anyone who needs a ramp or deck.

I called Ramparts and asked if they could come and give me an estimate on a wheelchair ramp to be installed at a side door to our house. They replied promptly and came to the house to see what needed to be done before providing an estimate. They gave me a range of options and were able to address some access problems from the back of the house along a narrow walkway past the ramp to the front of the house. I was impressed with their knowledge and ability to provide solutions. Although we have learned that we don't need a ramp at this time, we will definitely contact them again in the future should the need arise.
Description of Work: No services were performed yet as my husband and I decided at this time it would be better not to have a ramp as he is able to use a walker.

They even swept the sawdust out of our lawn every night. They even helped me down the ramp for the first time. They were so sweet and helped me go down the ramp. They are exceptionally fantastic! I was worried how my husband was going to be able to access the hose so I asked them to include a secret gate and they did. Not only did they do this but they included two steps to go down to the garden, as well. I cannot say enough good things about them! Joe and all of the workers were so polite, courteous, and professional!

Owner of the Company explained options, and helped with planning. Installation was exactly on schedule, and done very professionally. Very experienced, knowledgeable, and helpful people.
Description of Work: Installed a wheelchair ramp at our home. Large ramp, over 70 feet long, with two "switchback" platforms, required to reach our high entrance door. It is a rental. The initial charge of $4270 covers installation, eventual removal, and 3 months rental. Monthly rental is $350. It is an aluminum ramp, with handrails. Excellent quality, with particularly good non-slip surface.

Joe and Pete did a superb job. The permanent ramp is fabulous. It looks better than what we had before. The temporary ramp is sturdy and functional. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job in a timely fashion. Everything went smoothly, and the final price was as bid plus a small change we made along the way.
Description of Work: Joe Lewis of RampArts came out, showed us his portfolio, bid the job and waited patiently while we decided on all the particulars of the job. Then, he and his crew excavated the existing concrete steps, and poured a concrete wheelchair ramp in its place. They built a rock retaining wall on either side of the ramp. They built an additional, temporary ramp above grade to the front door, made of aluminum and plywood. Pete installed some railings in an interior staircase and removed an old railing. He patched and textured the wall where the old railing was. He installed some interior grab bars (3) in the baths and hallways.
