RESTORATIONS HARDWOOD FLOORING

We hired this contractor to do all the floors in a very large house we own previously. That came out beautifully, no complaints, so we hired them for this job. This job was to redo a very bad job done by someone previously. They came quickly to give me an estimate. Then they fit me in soon after to do the work and got it done in a few days. The blend was difficult, It didn't come out perfect but I believe that would be almost impossible. It looks great and the slight difference in the finish match would not be noticed now that we have the furniture in and everything.

The only glitch in all of the work was a lack of communication about how the old floors and the new floors would transition. This was probably more the responsibility of our GC to communicate to us. They began laying toungue and groove floors in the new kitchen which didn't transition well with the original top-nailed floors. We had them stop and revise the work to include top-nailed floors through out for a better and more seemless transition. I was impressed at how quickly they were able to get the new materials onsite and make up for the lost time in the schedule. I wish the problem hadn't occurred in the first place but their response and willingness to make it right was helpful. I also appreciated the way they had me review stain samples on the actual floor prior to finishing. It gave me a better idea of what the final floors would look like over the small fan deck swatches provided.
