Description of Work: installed 2 electric heaters and outdoor outlet; had to return because of incomplete installation of the outlet; left door to electric box open and left things lying around. Once finally completed, the job was fine.

Description of Work: he went to wrong address so was very late i told him hign that was wrong he didnt tell me anyhting i didnt know wasnt worth the money I spent dont remember the exact date he ws at hosue. not impressed would never recommend or use them again.

We were late because the customer gave us an incorrect address. She was not living at her home at the time. We called the customer and she gave us the correct address and we were there promptly. Customer bought a $39.95 inspection. Our licensed electrician spent an hour there inspecting her home thoroughly; he gave her a written two page bid detailing issues with her electrical and accurate costs for her to budget a repair. In response to this review we offered a refund; and to come back out and rebid and address her concerns. Customer has been contacted multiple times to resolve and has refused a refund and/or a re-bid.

Description of Work: The electrician from Mr. Electric arrive on time and was very pleasant. I told him the laundry room fluorescent ballast needed to be changed and the ceiling exhaust fan was making a clanking noise. He looked at the problems and informed me that the exhaust fan and the exterior timer needed to be replaced, as well as the ballast and the bulbs. When he came up with an estimate of more than $432 I asked him if he would just change the ballast and bulbs. He informed me he did not have a ballast and bulbs available and needed to go get them. I was disappointed that something as basic as a ballast and bulbs would not be carried by a repairman, especially after having informed the recipient of the trouble call. So, I told him I did not wish to continue with his service. More annoyingly, when I called another electric repairman, he said the exhaust fan and timer did not have to be replaced, but just cleaned, and he had a ballast on hand to change and I could use the old bulbs. And the price for replacing the ballast, cleaning out the fan cost less than $180.

Dear [member name removed] - We are happy that you got your electrical system repaired. We are sorry that you did not use us (Mr. Electric) for your repair. We always include all new parts for your repair because we don't want to replace your ballast and then reuse your old lamps and spray a little WD-40 on your fan to solve the problem temporarily - that kind of repair could fail next week. We would have put all new parts in (including the ballast, lamps, fan motor and timer) so we can properly guarantee the repairs. Even though it sounds like your fixture and fan are working at this time there is no way to properly guarantee that kind of fix. I am sorry that we didn't have the ballast on the truck, but there are about 15 different ballasts for fluorescent lights and we do not always have the exact match on the truck, however we don't charge you to get the part, that is on us. We sincerely hope you would give us a call next time you need a repair. We promise to do the job right (not always the cheapest way), and to be the cleanest and most respectful electricians you can find. We did not win the Angie's list Super Service Award for 2012 by taking shortcuts. Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns, and allowing us to respond.
