What a waste of time and money. After the technician (Bryan) looked at it briefly, he states that the water heater is old and needs to be replaced. He claims that Sears is impossible to get ahold of, so makes an example call where he wasn't able to get through. Seemed fishy. Also, he doesn't work on Sears items, but I can get a new one from him for only 1200-1400 dollars. The water heater was only a year or two old when I purchased my house in 2009 so it seems that it had more life in it than that. So, I called Sears (with no problems) and it turns out that it is still under parts warranty. A Sears technician came out the next day and replaced the ignition switch for ~100 dollars. My question for John's is...if you don't work on Sears, why don't you say that before you waste our time and money? Also, please don't lie to customers. I'm really glad I listened to my gut on this one. It only put me out ~40 dollars for his "professional" opinion.
Description of Work: My hot water heater went out on my rental house, so my tenants called John's to come take a look and get a quote.

Was one hour late for appointment but did call to reschedule. Price of toilet fixture originally quoted was for a lesser quality product. After discussion, with plumber, we elected to purchase a more expensive Koehler fixture. The Kohler fixture toilet seat has a poorly designed hinge mechanism which allows the seat to detach itself at unwanted times. At a four month later date we replaced the toilet seat itself with a much more rugged product.

He Rescheduled his first appointment than proceeded to state that he was having problems finding parts to my system. This was without assessing the problem. Also sated that I would probably needed a new system. Which he had. He cancel the second reschedule for the same reason. By than I had contacted the original company that installed my system. They did not understand why he was having problems finding parts. This is the same company he got the training From after they decided to leave residential and do only commercial. It was very clear to me that his only interest wast to sell me a new system.
Description of Work: They are the only company in olympia that have experience working with the Eco water filtering system.

Description of Work: After getting my septic tank pumped the service man recommended that my chamber pumps were not working correctly. He recommended John's pumping, as I had used the 10 yrs, ago, and they were proficient. I called explained the problem and they responded, I mentioned it had been since August that the problem was noticed, but had not problem yet, but wanted to get the wiring fixed. Over the phone they gave me an estimate of $400-$600 for the service to fix the wiring. However, I get a call and the final cost is $960. I am at work, which I can not leave without an emergency, so I pay the sum with my card. I regret this action especially without a written estimate first, but I trusted the company to do what they said, going on past experience with them. However, I get home and its dark and not until the weekend I see only thing done is new wiring in the septic power box, no other evidence of any activity, I am lef with a messy carbon copy of a receipt, which I can read. I call the office about this and they email my a very general list of costs. no details, hours, list of materials, etc. I call and related this is not good enough, and the problem of the short in the system still exists. This of coarse is estimated at $3500. to finish finding and fixing the short. They still didnt know where, how or really what was wrong. I got another couple of estimates to say the least, of which was way under by $2000. The previous work was viewed in checking out the whole situation, which is all connected to the septic system and it was mutually agreed by the two other service providers that the work paid for was over priced and under done. I related this to John's pumping to both the office several occasions and to the technician that was assigned to the job, my concern with not having a decent receipt of work done and the need for details and accountability for the charge of the price for the work done, however as of date received no detailed receipt, withern through the mail or electronic, Very disappointed in the work ethic and overcharge that seems a part of their way of doing business these days. I expressed my disappointment in their way of doing businessover several phone calls and email- with sloppy paper work , over priced items $154 hr labor costs, and going way over the estimation of the job as given. They were unwilling to make any adjustment to the work done. In retropect, I have found serveral service providers that do great work, upfront with costs, provide written estimates, detailed work receipts of service done and stay withing those estimates with no surprises like 30-60% cost hike when finished. I will not recommend this company to anyone. I will not recommend this company to anyone

Aaron was very friendly and professional on the phone and made a special effort to call 45 minutes ahead of time so I could leave work and meet him for the site inspection and estimate. He arrived exactly on time and quickly and efficiently assessed the job and gave me an estimate. He scheduled the job for two days later. The day of the install Aaron ran a bit late but he called to let me know. After a bad experience with another plumber it was a pleasure to deal with someone that understands a simple phone call is all it takes to keep the customer happy. Running late is no problem as long as you know what to expect. The job was done efficiently (about 3 hours) and professionally and he didn't even mind that I watched most of the time. The entire experience was a real pleasure. Note: This is not a cut-rate outfit. They are not the least expensive, but they are dependable, punctual, professional, and the work is done right. I will use them again.
Description of Work: Installed a utility sink in the garage, which involved opening the wall, tying new drain and supply lines into existing plumbing, adding 2x4s for sink mounts, mounting the sink and connecting new pipes.
