DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN! He is a con artist who managed to swindle me out of $2,000 for a job that was worth $1,000 at best. This man cannot be trusted to be fair in his pricing or to represent the truth when he is explaining the costs to you. I am a female senior citizen who hired Mr. Kokotek to repair a broken sprinkler system. It was an emergency repair; I asked Mr. Kokotek three times while he was performing the work to give me an estimate of what the work would cost. He did not give me an answer. He arrived at 10 AM and finished at 5 PM -- 7 hours -- and spent a considerable amount of time on his cell phone during the repair process, taking care of other unrelated business. He also had to make a parts run which took more than an hour and is included in the 7 hours I paid him for. He lied to me about the cost of parts, telling me the valves he had to replace cost $165 each. When I looked up the cost online after he left, the most expensive one I could find cost $25. The parts were not extremely expensive. When the project was completed, he scribbled a few numbers on a piece of paper, did not itemize the parts costs or the labor, and told me I owed him in excess of $2,000. By this time of day, I was exhausted and did not have the energy to argue with him over the cost, so I paid him and he left. The next day I discovered that one of the valve boxes was full of water and had to call and ask him to return. He returned a week later, finished the work and presented me with a second invoice for an additional $300 which I refused to pay. After three requests, he gave me an invoice for the $2,000 charged originally but lumped the parts costs and the labor costs together so you could not tell how much was for parts and how much was for labor -- a convenient way of burying his exorbitant labor costs. After looking at the parts prices online, I am sure he did not spend more than $500 on parts. If I paid him $500 for labor, he would be making $71 an hour for 7 hours. That brings the total to $1,000, which would be a generous payment, far from the $2,000 he charged me. As it stands and assuming $500 for parts, I paid him $1,500 for labor which equals $214/hr! In reading the previous reviews for this business, there is a clear pattern of over charging senior citizens as well as the general public. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS AND THE OWNER! DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!

We hired Roman to remove an old built-in microwave and install a new one. The job turned out to be much more complicated than anticipated due to the old microwave being set on a custom bracket bolted into a wall oven, which bracket did not fit the new microwave. The trim that came with the new microwave did not fill the gap in the wall above the oven. I decided to purchase a custom trim kit from an online vendor, and Roman created a system of shelving that not only worked perfectly for this microwave, but that will be able to accommodate future microwaves. It turned out beautiful.

I called Roman on Thursday morning.  He said he could come by on Friday at 1130 and look at it.  He called me at 1100 and said he'd be 15 min late.  He showed up at 11:45, found the problem, EXPLAINED it to me, got the replacement parts, installed them, replaced the dirt, and re-installed my stepping stones.  GREAT job!!  I have laundry cabinets to move so based on this job, i'm going to have him do that, too.  He may be my permanent handy man!  He is polite, punctual, and fair.

His name is Roman Kokatek. My sprinkler system was not working, so I had him come out, he found the fault is held and replaced it. I called him on Monday and he was out Tuesday morning. He was very prompt. I was very pleased with his service. I was very impressed that he came right out. He was very nice, professional, friendly, and he explained everything what he was doing, did not leave a mess, and cleaned everything up. He does the job done and a handyman service, and does a lot more than just the sprinkler. I would definitely use them I the future. He did excellent work and responsive.
