Fresh Look Painting LLC

We hired this company to repaint our kitchen cabinets and were very impressed by all the 5 star reviews when we hired them but had a very different experience. The company owner was nice but was present onsite only briefly. Otherwise, his employees did the work. We had wanted an alkyd paint which was the original paint on the cabinets, but were talked into lacquer that Yuri stated would be more durable and they could color match. They did the job as scheduled and removed and doors and drawers to be sprayed offsite. However, once the job was complete we noticed the color match did not match our sample. Within a week we noticed other problems like bumpy orange peel like texture, areas that felt rough like sandpaper, and bumps and scrapes in the finish. We contacted Yuri who agreed to return and redo the job. In the month between the job being completed and returning to repaint, the drawers already began to chip and peel revealing the original color underneath that did not appear to have ever been sanded or primed over (even though this was specified in the contract). The crew did return to repaint and this time since we were so unhappy with the quality of the laquer finish and to avoid problems with color matching and easier to touch up we requested the job be redone with alkyd that we had in the past that was more durable for us. They accomodated this request. This time when the doors and drawers were returned from off site the finish still appeared soft resulting in chips and scrapes to the fresh paint as they were reinstalled. The reinstallated doors were also fairly unaligned. A few no longer closed all the way and some of the screws were stripped preventing us from easily readjusting them. The company offered to return a third time for touch-ups, but by this point after being repeatedly unhappy with the quality of the work we declined and opted to do touch ups ourselves to avoid risking further damage. We appreciate that they did return trying to make it right but overall felt the quality was poor.

We cannot say enough good things about Yuri!! First of all, his price was the best by far of three companies we got bids from. He did a superb job for us. We were very pleased with his attention to detail; for instance, he caulked the corners inside the cabinets he painted where very few people will even look. He was also very careful in protecting floors, etc. from paint. There were things that came up which we had not agree to ahead of time, and he willing took care of them. We are very pleased with the finished job. In addition, Yuri is a very nice man and a pleasure to do business with. We will definitely use him when we need a painter again. We referred him to some friends of ours who needed some painting, and when Yuri was done our friends said "Thank you, thank you, thank you for Yuri."

They did a very nice job, including details like painting the house numbers. Yuri called me when he felt that there might be water in the house from pressure washing (not their fault, but the there were some gaps under the doors) so that I could take care of them right away and not ruin the floors. They did "over-caulk" the siding to help improve the seal, so if you do not want that done, I would let them know. They were flexible when we decided to try the Sherwin Williams Emerald paint. They were at the house when they said they would be and cleaned up nicely. They worked with our schedule and provided what seems to be good advice on paint colors to help make sure we get the full value of the paint job. I would recommend them to our other neighbors, in fact they did just paint someone else's house close to our house and it looks very nice. If he couldn't answer my call right away, he called me right back. He answered my questions (and I had a lot of them) with patience. He didn't give me a bad time when I used a wet film thickness gauge (free from Sherwin Williams) to measure the depth of the paint job, in case I had to use it to prove to Sherwin Williams that the painter did a good job after their 10 year "warranty" expired. I appreciated his patience and the house looks a lot better now. Very happy with the job. Thank you!

Our basement flooded and we had to repair everything including drywall, baseboards, reframing doors and flooring. It was incredibly stressful. However, Yuri was the best part of the entire project and I cannot say enough about the level of his professionalism . He was ALWAYS on time and prepared. Sometimes even ahead of the game or at least it seemed so because of how quickly he would adapt to an ever evolving situation. He was one of the most professional people I have ever had work done with and a genuinely nice person to be around. He was very knowledgable giving us advice and talking about options but he made sure that we were happy with what he was doing. He was very flexible working around the other contractors and when he was delayed from other people not getting their work done not only did he not make excuses(which I heard a lot of on this project) he stepped up to finish things starting early and finishing late to make sure the work got done and we stayed on track to finish. His workmanship is awesome and he is very efficient! I am a perfectionist and being able to completely trust someone in a situation like this is invaluable. He is very thorough and very precise and it definitely shows in his work. I could not be more thrilled and will definitely be asking him back for future projects! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing painting/staining done.

Since we moved to our current house 4 years ago, we have used Yuriy every year since for one thing or another. He has painted our house (4,600 sq. feet) inside and out, stained our patio and deck and painted the shop. Having a good working knowledge of many of the construction trades, he has acted as a "Jack of all trades" in also repairing several leaks in the roof of the shop, replaced and repaired damaged drywall and did an addition to our storm drain system for the house. We have consulted him several times for decorator color selection, and has referred us to extremely reliable and honest subcontractors outside of his field. Never had any trouble or disappointments with any of them. Whatever he did for us he always showed up on time, completed the work as proposed, and NEVER had any additional charges. Regardless of the job, the work was exemplary and done correctly the first time. He has raised the bar for what we can expect from contractors and subcontractors. Although we had not met before his first job for us, because of the quality of his work and the quality person he is, we've become friends. You might too!!

Yuri came highly recommended to us by a close friend when he painted our home exterior a few years ago. We called Yuri to see if he would come back and re-paint a false dormer on a very steep roof which suffered from the effects of heat and weather. We told him that it was a small job and if he would just work us into his schedule but before fall descended we were flexible. A month after Yuri bid the job he called to say that he had a break in work and with weather permitting he would like to do the job today. As usual, Yuri was prompt, courteous, tidy and very professional. We have recommended him often and he has painted many homes in our neighborhood.
