I highly encourage you to avoid using this vendor. They were absolutely one of the worst vendors to work with. We selected this vendor prior to joining Angie's list and used the web to locate a vendor in July of 2013. They were one of the only vendors to return our call, and made an appointment to come out next day, which we were very impressed with. They came out, took measurements, and promised to be in touch with an estimate. We had purchased the house less than a year ago and were unsure of the unique decking. After the first string of emails, it took THREE WEEKS to receive a response (they cited they were on vacation). During those couple of weeks I was able to locate the vendor of the materials to the company. Here's where the problems started: - They lost the measurements they took and asked us to gather measurements instead. We had a newborn baby, needless to say this took a long time to get around to doing. They offered to come out and take more measurements but with a newborn that was just not possible- this is an easy problem that would have been solved if they kept their original measurements. - Lack of communication was blamed multiple times on illness/vacation/holidays - Received an email at 8 pm asking if they could come out the next morning to have their contractor take a look. We responded with an immediate yes, and cleared our schedule. They STOOD US UP! Three hours into waiting we received an email apology that their contractor was sick. - They claimed to have issues with the material company we needed them to procure from. Saying they couldn't get a response, there were problems getting it shipped, etc. However when I called the same company, and later emailed with them, their exchanges were super quick, I had an email returned within 30 minutes! They also said material shipments are about 8 weeks from the order. The vendor had received our payment in October and it took, apparently, 6 months to receive the goods from the company? I find that hard to believe. - They insisted on an 80% deposit required ($3k out of the $3897)! - They quoted a mid-February construction date to us. After the first week of February rolled around and we hadn't heard anything, we checked in just to see what the timeline looked. We received a pretty snotty response that didn't provide any more specific details, instead another generalization: "I did update you on Jan 7th, "plan on having your project on the schedule for late Feb early March." (Is it really a hardship to give a more specific date if you're a week, maybe two out? Unreal.) -Final product is crooked, in fact the wood has split where the screws are on three stairs and will need to be replaced. FIVE MONTHS after the work was completed! Run. Simple as that. Terrible communication, poor work, expensive.
