Excellent craftsmanship. The chair turned out great. Del charged a lower price than the other places I contacted. When we picked up the chair we were surprised to find that he had also cleaned the oak. I would confidently tale any of our antique furniture to Chair Repair.

Del was interested in the work request and gave a time line for repair (he was able to finish it before the due date). Excellent job and would recommend Del's quality of work.
Description of Work: Replaced a broken and worn cane seat on a 50 year-old chair. New cane seat had to be attached by hand weaving it into the backside of the chair.

Del is a very knowledgable craftsman. After I sent photos by email of the chairs, he quickly sent back a very reasonable quote of $60/chair. The other refinisher I contacted quoted me about $300/chair for the same work. I dropped the chairs off at his workshop with the expectation that it would take 2-3 weeks--that's what he'd told me. But just a few days later he called me back to let me know he'd finished the job well ahead of schedule. The chairs looks great and we're happy to have them back in regular use again. He told us the cane should last another two generations before it needs to be replaced! These are well used, well loved chairs, so what we were aiming for was not to make them look like new. I really liked Del's respect for the beauty of what age and history brings to a chair. For the record, his specialty is caning not woodwork.
Description of Work: Del repaired six dining room chairs. They are carved wooden chairs from the 1920s that originally belonged to my husband's grandparents. The caning in the backs had cracked and broken over the years. Del replaced the cane and stained it to match the aged patina color of the wood.
