We just had our roof replaced by Pro Roofing. I ended up getting 8 bids for our roof project. Most of the bids were within a couple thousand dollars but Pro came in about $6k less than the rest. Even before I got the bid via email I really liked the sales guy, John. He was one of only three that actually followed up with me after submitting a bid. I'm in sales so I am very attuned to how others do their job. John followed up in the perfect amount of time and was very happy to answer questions, give me time to think and compare, etc. He did a great job. The crew worked their tails off! The weather was pretty bad so rather than rush it, they did it in sections to keep from having any weather related problems. The project took two weeks rather than one but it was well worth the extra time to have it done right. Our roof is quite steep (12/12 pitch) and has many peaks and valleys. I am quite handy and I won't even think of getting up there. The new CertainTeed Presidential TL looks amazing! The crew cleaned up thoroughly every day and our yard looks better than when they started. The bid included a lifetime warranty (very nice), new skylights, chimney caps, vents, etc. There were no add-on costs like some companies. Its all included and their warranty is the best. After getting 8 bids I feel like I'm darn near a roof expert. In my experience, pretty much all the companies do the work the same. The difference is the warranty length and cost, extra charges for things like skylights, and your gut feel. Pro was outstanding in all areas I was very happy with everything from beginning to end and they were the lowest bid to boot. I would not hesitate to recommend them--I've already done so to a couple of friends.

The roof went well and the crew worked all day to complete the job. It looks great. However, they did damage a small overhanging roof by standing on it, bent the satellite dish and left it hanging off the eaves. They also left a pile of supplies behind. It took three weeks to get them to come back and do the repairs needed for the little roof and pick up the supplies. The new gutters were not as deep as the old gutters and the installer did not back the rafter edges with a facia board. The ends of the rafters hang below the gutters. One portion of the gutter does not rest on the base of the rafters. I am still waiting for the installer to come back and repair as promised. It has been almost two months.

I gathered several estimates from various companies including Pro Roofing. Even though Pro Roofing came in as the lowest bid, it was the attention to detail and the friendliness of the staff that sealed the deal. The estimator Rob was very knowledgeable, and a real nice person to deal with. The company was very responsive, and even pushed the scheduling of my job forward because I had damage from a windstorm and the roof was very vulnerable in places. They were on time, worked diligently & cleaned up after the job was completed too. When Rob came out to review the work, he noticed that the incorrect boots, ( flashing) had been installed over the vent pipes. He scheduled for the crew to replace them and they came out and took care of it! I would highly recommend a call to this company to at least get a bid and compare. I was pleasantly suprised by the professionalism, and service they provided. I would use them again, and have told my neighbors about the company for when they are ready for a roof replacement.

We had a branch puncture our roof causing a leak just days before Christmas. Alex and his team responded immediately, tarped the roof until they could come back the next day to do a full repair. They had reroofed our former home, we had a great experience with them, and I did not hesitate to call them first to help us out. Really grateful for their customer service!!! Would trust them to do any roof work on any property of ours, and their service comittment exceeded our expectations.

Note: I live in Colorado, and the work was being done on a rental property I own in Redmond, WA. Things started well. My account rep, John B., showed up on time and put together an estimate package. He sent me the bid via e-mail and we discussed it over the phone. I discussed with my tenant -- who had walked John around the property -- and we were both confident in this contractor. But as the project work began, it became clear that Pro Roofing has no ability to track their own projects. 1) I requested twice -- once to John B. and another time to the office worker Leslie P. -- that they include my tenant on all scheduling-related e-mail conversations. They never managed to do this. 2) John B. forgot entire conversations we had. He contacted me about a problem area they had 'found' while working that was going to require extra work and extra money to fix. He estimated about a 30% increase in the price of the job to do it. This 'new found' problem was not new. My tenant had discussed it with him during the original estimate appointment, and he and I had talked about it when we discussed the bid. John soldiered forward and adamantly refused to admit he'd messed up. I declined to have ProRoofing fix the problem and instead hired a local handyman service who was able to do the same repairs for a fraction of what ProRoofing wanted to charge me. 3) After a week of silence about the job, I asked for status. John replied proudly that the roof and gutters were done. They were not. I had contracted to have pine-needle screens installed on the gutters, and they had not been. I asked John about this, and he declined to even reply to my question. Magically the workers came back and did the installation. When I asked Leslie about it later, she claimed it was her error and she had not noticed that line item on the contract. Strangely though, the invoice that she had sent to me (dated days before our conversation) managed to include billing for that line item. 4) Leslie sent the invoice to the rental property instead of to me, and claimed that she hadn't realized it was a rental property. See point 1 -- she had it in writing that this was a rental property. Overall I guess the quality of work was okay, but I have troubles trusting even that. There were several parts of the roof replacement that would be invisible -- waterproof linings under parts of the roofing and such. Given how much trouble I had with ProRoofing totally forgetting stuff and then denying it later, I really have a hard time trusting any of the work they claim to have done unless it can be seen and verified. I would NOT trust this company to manage any project unless someone responsible can be on hand to oversee each and every stage.

I received a call back and estimate from John very quickly. He had my roof tarped over an area of my concern until my roof could be done. The clean up was exceptional and I am extremely pleased with the job overall.

I waited 1.5 years to put in this review so that I could get the emotions out of this review. So that's one year of Angie's List subscription that I'm paying but not using, just so that I could give a fair review. If you want a decent job for a plain roof for a low price, go with Pro Roofing. If you want a higher quality roof and the performance/service to go with it, you should probably pay a bit more for other roofers. My issues: 1. My skylight's frame got damaged from bad installation practice. The inexperienced guy on the team basically had his foot weighted down on my skylight as he was prying out roof shingles around the skylight. They replaced the frame of the skylight since they were changing my skylights as well and they caulked the damaged drywall but not in a nice way. 2. My furnace exhaust pipe was cut too short and I discovered a few days later that it got detached from the furnace, damaging bracket installations. Alex the owner was no-show, no-response after sending a guy over to look at it. I had to pay a couple hundred for my furnace installers to come over to re-install the pipe, re-attach it to the furnace and also make it extend higher again to make sure nothing would leak. I have no direct evidence that they were the ones who damaged it, but the shingle delivery guys and the roofers were the only ones who were ever close to the furnace pipe on a very steep section of the roof, and I saw them use that pipe sometimes as leverage in climbing up to the top. 3. They left satellite dishes uninstalled but still connected to the cables and hanging from the roof which resulted in a gutter drain getting ripped off the wall. I was able to rescrew the drain fortunately using other previously-unused holes on the mounting bracket. 4. The flashing on the chimney extruded so much it reminded me of Transformers in the midst of transforming. They did cut it down a few days after I complained. 5. They blew dirt into my garage during cleanup. I did complain but we just cleaned this up ourselves instead of waiting for them, but this was again the same inexperienced guy on the team. 6. They did not finish installing shingles on top of the ridge vent. We set a time for them to come over Saturday to finish up and I waited for a no-show with no phone call. One guy came back a week later to finish up. 7. They left roofing material on my lawn for days, which killed the grass underneath it. 8. They did not put back small parts of my siding, thus exposing the underlying waterproofing sheet. I had to find the siding parts and nail back on my own. Pro Roofing was my 2nd choice out of a few Angie's List repeat award winners, but they offered a very good price and they were local and so I went with them. They even emailed me bios of their roofer employees which gave the feeling of a company that took care of their employees, which was nice. I selected the Certainteed Landmark TL Ultimate which was much higher-end and heavier than the basic Landmark, Landmark Pro and Landmark Premium shingles and of course, higher-priced. They still offered a very good price but because I was paying for a higher-end product, my expectations for installation performance and detail probably went up. The installers who came were also seemingly contractors paid by the job and not the ones whose bios I received. These two things in combination probably were the root of my headaches. Micah was actually good and responsive as a salesperson. He patiently helped me get samples of different roof styles and colors to help us select our desired one. Sales, installation, and customer care are totally different things though and I don't think he had much authority in terms of settling customer complaints. Roofing is hard work and I appreciated the hard work of the roofers especially that summer of 2013 when it was all hot and sunny. I gave them Gatorade every day and even bought 4 of them dinner one day when they were staying late. I think they were just overcommitted and tired from all the jobs they had and had to switch to the next job immediately after doing mine. Most days they'd arrive 9am or after and then stay about 8pm to do as much as they could. It did not help that most of the time there were three guys but only two were experienced and actually doing the roofing while the other was just on the ground doing minor stuff. It seemed that they were contractors paid by the job whose incentive would be to finish the job as quickly as they can to move on to the next. It was summer when I had my roof done and so it was peak season and they almost finished my roof in 3 days with some patchwork left to do. The main guy on the roofer team came back to do some patch work but he was in a hurry to get out. I had him pare the flashing to reasonable levels and attempted to have him fix another gutter pipe that was not put back properly but he was obviously in a hurry for another job and I didn't want him doing a bad job in a rush and do more damage and so I let him go. I paid Pro Roofing soon after because I wanted the roofers paid. A few days later, can't remember why but I went in to look at the furnace room and discovered the damaged furnace pipe. I had complained about a lot of things previously (see issue list above) and I got the impression from Alex's (the owner) response that perhaps he thought I was just trying to give them a hard time with this furnace pipe complaint or maybe trying to get them to fix a problem which they did not cause. As mentioned above, I didn't look in the furnace room before and during the job so I couldn't say for sure that they were the ones who damaged it, but they cut and put in a pipe cap as part of their work and I saw them step on the pipe as they climbed to the top of the roof ridge so in likelihood they were the ones who damaged it. So I think I now have a decent-looking roof that likely won't leak. If I had chosen the cheap Landmark shingles, all the issues I put up with above perhaps would have been a bit easier to swallow because of lower overall cost. I guess I was naive to expect more just because I was paying for high-quality shingles. The lesson here is, if you want better performance/service, pay a bit more. My main roofer choice was out of Burien and wasn't that much more expensive and in hindsight I should have gone with them as I had a certain comfort level talking with the guy who came to measure my roof for the quote whereas Micah was more of a hard-seller. Then again, Pro Roofing had multiple years of Angie's List Super Service Award and they were local. That's what I paid Angie's List for, to get that assurance. Interestingly, Pro Roofing had Super Service Awards from 2009 to 2012, but not 2013 and 2014. So go with Pro Roofing for a cheap, decent roof. If you want a higher-quality roof with more refined installation to boot, go with another roofer.

John Borbridge of Pro Roofing NW committed to have the job done by November 11th which was our drop dead date requirement. Several days were lost due to rain but the job was finally finished on November 11th. Whew. Crew worked hard to meet schedule even during some rainy days. Installed Presidential Shake TL to try to recreate a bit of the previous Cedar Shake look. It appears to us so far that they did a very good job however we have been gone since the completion of the installation. The only thing that they didn't do was cover the bushes and plants around the house. They used 1/2" plywood sheets at a slant to protect the windows during the shake shingle and tar paper removal but didn't cover or protect the plants. Mentioned it to John Borbridge but plants didn't get covered at all during the whole job. Didn't make a big fuss about it as were quite happy we ere getting the job done at all prior to November 11th. At present we believe the plants will be recovered by next spring and didn't see any real serious damage. If plants need protection around your house make sure you get a clear understanding of how that will be handled prior to the start of the job. They inserted plywood sheets under the wheels truck that delivered the shingles to avoid cracking the exposed aggregate driveway per our agreement. They also installed ridge venting where necessary and a special roof vent in the roof where there wasn't enough ridge to offer adequate venting in that area. Were not told in advance that a special roof vent was going to be installed in that section of the roof but it looks like it will work ok. Had the only skylight also replaced. Wanted to have the gutters replaced as well but the subcontractor could not meet the required schedule. Overall, we would recommend using Pro Roofing NW for installing a new Composition roof.

They did a wonderful job! They were excellent! It was raining when I discovered the leak and so they were the first company I called and they offered to come out and tarp my roof so it wouldn't leak inside my house with no obligation. They didn't charge me for the tarping, which I found spectacular! They returned my calls promptly. Any questions I had regarding the bill, was answered promptly and efficiently by Leslie. They did a fabulous clean up job. I also thought they were very reasonable as far as price goes. I highly recommend them! They completed my roof replacement in a day and a half. Ryan came out promptly to give me an estimate and was very informative. They also showed up on time. They also told me that my gutters didn't need replacing, when in all actuality he could have told me otherwise and I really wouldn't known either way. Very honest in my opinion. Very nice guys.

We have a very large roof as our house is all on one level. Entering the bidding process more than a little bit nervous about the cost of having our roof replaced. We narrowed to three the companies we'd consider accepting their bids. The other two companies we accepted bids from weren't even close. After meeting with Ryan, then checking with our neighbors who'd had Pro Roofing replace their roofs, I then contacted Angies list to verify my feelings about ProRoofing and Ryan. They have a winning combination with Pro Roofing and Angies list. The price and Ryan's customer service were great. I would hire Ryan and Pro Roofing again in a second. I've also mentioned to him I'd be happy to help him with referals when ever I could. I'm very pleased with how things turned out Our roof turned out beautifully, and I have a friend in the roofing business.

Contracted Pro Roofing to replace our roof, gutters and sky lights. They were a week later than planned but did call and inform us of the delay. Plan was to take 2 days to complete the work, but took 5 days. Daily clean up was not done as promised. Due to the delays our garage belongings got wet as they did not protect the roof during the rain. No one from Pro Roofing kept us informed on what the delays were. When we asked the crew members who were working they didn't speak English therefore they couldn't explain to us the delays. Quality of work was okay. MIcah did follow up with us and apologized for the delays and took care of some workmanship issues. Turns out the foreman was not onsite due to vehicle breakdown, although we felt Pro Roofing should have assigned another foreman to the site. Pricing was about in the middle of the 5 bids we recieved. I only recommend Pro Roofing to others due to the outstanding follow up by Micah. He made sure we were satisfied in the end of the product we paid for.

We did NOT do as good of a job as we should have. Regardless of the reasons. We tried hard to make if up to you by sending you and your wife out to dinner and fixing every issue you brought to our attention. You and your wife demonstrated wonderful patience to us and our crew and we're grateful. We take pride in our work and customer service, and unfortunately we fell short of our own expectations on your job. Again, we are sorry. When we left the final walk through we felt you were satisfied. It took us a couple tries to get there, but we finally arrived. At this point, you roof looks very nice. All the flashing are done exceptionally well and the roof has our lifetime warranty on it. Thanks again for your honest assessment. Regards ~Pro Roofing

I called ProRoofing and asked them to come look at it as we were concerned it would rain and the leak in the roof would ruin the replaced ceiling as well as cause other damage. After an initial glitch in the communication, Derrin came to inspect the roof. This was a particularly busy time for them but they made arrangements nonetheless to see what the problem was. Derrin went onto the roof and also into the attic. He showed me cell phone photos he took while on the roof and said there wasn't any signs of a leak nor was there anything that needed to be fixed on the roof. He advised the damage from the ceiling probably occurred prior to the new roof being replaced. Ryan and Leslie were also helpful in arranging for the roof to be inspected. The responsiveness is an indication that ProRoofing stands behind their workmanship.
Description of Work: Our cedar shake roof was replaced by a new composite roof by ProRoofing NW 3 years ago. The review here is for the service they provided earlier this month. We were having our bathrooms remodeled by another company. At that time, it was discovered the ceiling of one of the bathrooms was spongy, and hanging a bit lower than the surrounding ceiling. It was apparently due to a leak from the roof that the bathroom remodelers thought was due to lack of exterior caulking around the vent pipe because they could "see the sky" from the attic.
