On the first job, the driveway was poured by another contractor, leaving channels for the brickwork. These masons then came in with the bricks I had them order for me, they prepared their mortar and installed the bricks as promised. In the second job, they ground out the old cracked mortar around the bricks in my front porch and replaced it to match the existing mortar that was still in good shape.
Description of Work: I have used these folks twice. The first time was to lay brickwork into a new driveway I had poured by another contractor. The second was to grind out and replace the mortar joints around the bricks in my front porch. Both jobs were done very well...good advice on what to do and how to do it, they accomplished the job as promised, did it well, on time, professionally, and for a fair price. Good guys.

They were great. They came on time, did the work and finished when they said they would. It looks beautiful and clean. It took a while for me to get on their schedule but that was the only disadvantage and it took about two months. They were really good with their communication and did a very nice job. I got couple of other quotes and they were the best price.
Description of Work: I used Premier Masonry Restoration for masonry in the last week of November of 2011. They removed an existing chimney and built us a new one.

After noticing moisture in one of our fireplace boxes I discovered that our natural stone chimneys had not been sealed and that the chimney caps were cracked. There was also a substantial amount of moss and surface dirt that had built up on the chimneys and other masonry since the construction of our house approx. 6 years ago. The original subcontractor quoted $16,000 to acid/pressure wash all stone, repair the chimney caps and seal all stone. I contacted Steve at Premier Masonry for another bid. He responded promptly, thoroughly inspected the job, and gave me a detailed quote that was less than half of the other bid. Because of the rain, his crews performed only the necessary cleaning and repairs of the chimneys and caps. They will return in the spring to clean the rest of the stone and seal everything. The crew was friendly, professional and careful not to damage any of the landscaping. As a bonus, they removed debris from the roof (in the area where they were working) and pressure washed our stone walkway.
Description of Work: Pressure washed natural stone on chimneys and tops of chimney stacks, ground out stress cracks & separations on chimney crowns, resurfaced both crowns.

They rushed through the job. I was surprised they did not have the corr. They used some chemicals to clean and sprayed and ruined two of my pots. The chemicals dripped on the pots and ruined them. Anything that needed to be addresse after they were done, was addressed and fixed. They did a good job overall, but I would not recommend them to my neighbors.
Description of Work: They cleaned and repaired the chimney. They also did some brick work for me and did a little extra work for me.

My experience with them pretty well. They had a little bit of some personal issue. So they had to put it into two jobs instead of just one. It looks beautiful and it matches the rest of our bricks. They were excellent at communicating what was going on and what we could expect. They were extremely friendly. They seemed extremely knowledgeable about different kinds of bricks. I liked that they could pretty much match the bricks for our house. They were really passionate about getting the job right.

They were very professional and polite. Left the area clean and did pin tucking on a few places on the mortor around the brick on the front of the house with no additional charge. Hard to settle on a time for them to do the work because they are extremely busy but other than that no problems.

The arrived when promised to discuss my job requirement, reviewed their work proposal with me, and provided a fair quote promptly when promised. They had noted some of the porch was still in good shape, so I could save some money by not changing anything there. The crew (nice guys) then arrived on schedule, cut out the old mortar and did the tuckpointing to replace it with a similarly colored product. They also replaced the damaged brick as quoted. The result looks excellent and they cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. They also pressure washed my driveway for an extra agreed upon fee. They will be back in a month to seal the mortar when it is cured. All in all, very professional and competent....excellent job.

They clean up after themselves. They are very fast. They listened to my requests. This is the third major project I have had them do for me and I will call them again.
Description of Work: My brick veneer garage built in 1929 needed help. They rebuilt one side removing, cleaning and reusing the unique bricks. They tuck pointed and restored the remaining structure. I wanted a shade of grout between the bricks that would not look new. They experimented until they found the right color. Recommended a good carpenter to help with the structural repair.

Steve at PM is very responsive and professional. I got three bids for the job, and Steve was the most comprehensive. He was the only one who spent time talking about the costs/benefits of different treatments on the brick joints - the other bids just assumed I wanted the same raked joints I had before, which - while attractive - are far more costly and prone to water damage than beveled joints. Steve walked me through the whole job beforehand, and was very candid about the process - tuck pointing is a very dusty process. We scheduled the job, and PM sent me info to provide my neighbors so they'd know to expect some dust. PM started when they said they would, and finished within a day of their expected completion (the job took about 3 weeks). Steve and his crew did their best to minimize dust infiltration into our house, and also took care with the power-washing to avoid leaking through my old wood windows. The finished job looks terrific!
Description of Work: PM rebuilt the chimney on my 1936 Tudor, from about 16" below the roof line, and tuck pointed the entire house (two stories). They also installed new counter-flashing, secured the chimney with internal FHA strapping, and repaired an area where brick was sagging.

They are someone who has been around this area for a long time and are very reputable. They were pleasant and responded quickly to my inquiries.

Overall, the job went well. But to me the resurface/ waterproof of mortar crown was very pricey for what was actually done - cost $150 of the total price. The chimney cleaning was also very minimal and not what I expected at all. I thought they would clean the entire inside of the chimney but they only vacuumed the hearth opening. The house had been built with wood burning fireplace although gas insert later installed in past 13 years.
Description of Work: Installed two stainless steel chimney caps with lifetime warranty, resurfaced/ waterproofed mortar crown on top of chimney, and did a "complete" flue cleaning insert on a ranch house with minimal pitch and very easy access to roof.

Steve came out promptly to give an estimate. I had partially demolished two concrete block fences to build a garage and needed some wall repair and clean terminations to the new ends. Not a very big job. Steve was professional and responsive. Our neighbors were antsy to have the fence repaired but unfortunately we called during the busy masonry season. The lead time was too long (I'm glad they're so busy!) so I ended up doing the work myself.

Almost everything they touched ended up worse than before. The concrete work fell apart within two months. For the path, they used smooth gravel which you don't use on a path. My husband and I both got injured. Plus, the path was installed right under a tree, which made it difficult to keep clean. They left things in a partially done condition. Finally, I just paid them off to make them go away. Only the tuck pointing was ok.
Description of Work: We had this company repair the concrete on 2 porches at my house. They also installed a gravel path and did some tuck pointing. They forgot to repair a step, which my husband ended up fixing.

Work performed quickly and professionally. Awaiting completion of sealer due to time required for mortar to set and better weather. There was some confusion regarding payment terms as from my perspective the job isn't complete until application of the sealer. Full payment was expected before sealer application. We compromised on 50% with the balance due upon sealer application. Work was agreed to be scheduled with weather permitting. As a result there was little advance notice when work began.

During a very busy time of year, Steve (Proprietor) and his associate made time to come out on a weekend. They assessed the chimney and concurred with the other estimates on the work needing to be done. The other estimates were for ''restoration'' and came in between $1200 and $1300. Premier's estimate for the same work was $850! For the additional $150, a complete rebuild was only $1000 + tax with choice of brick colors. We were replacing our roof, so once the new roof was completed (on a Friday), they were able to come the following Wednesday and complete the work in a day. From the ground (about 25 feet away), the work looks good; the flashings are new and appear to be installed properly, and the chimney looks even, and the mortar looks clean. Very nice in appearance. There is a 5 year guarantee on the craftsmanship (I believe). The only sign they had been there was the bricks from the former chimney they had neatly stacked according to my instructions. Well done!
