Steve and the folks at Premier Masonry live by the name of their company. They were very professional - Premier. They were very busy and clearly communicated their schedules and followed up to make sure my needs were met. My job to repair some brick work was very very small. Some masons had no interest in bidding on the job. However, Steve was more than happy to fit us in and did an excellent job. The bricks are old and he was concerned about matching older bricks with newer. He found an excellent match, placed the new bricks in areas that were less visible and moved existing bricks to areas of high visibility to maintain a more consistent color pattern. He paid excellent attention to detail, kept the area safe while working, and cleaned up well. He even repaired other small cracks with remaining mortar. While the project was small, the visual impact of the repair was astounding. He matched spacing to a tee. I can't recommend working with Steve enough. He is kind, professional, helpful, provided options to consider, and took our needs into consideration. He respected our budget, gave an excellent quote, and kept all appointments and time commitments with us. I would use Steve's company again in a flash and highly recommend them for any masonry needs.

On an extremely hot August day the 3 man crew rebuilt our old chimney that was allowing water into the house. We have had heavy rain in the past week and there has been no leaks so I am pleased that the chimney repair was completed before the winter. It appears the chimney was the reason for the leaks into the family room.

Steve Boeggeman and his crew did a fabulous job. They started on time, did quality work, and finished on schedule in three days. Steve, as the owner, did a lot of the work himself, especially the pony wall which required close attention to detail and some precision cutting. The Premier crew was careful to protect plants and walkways. Steve recommended and obtained a style of replacement brick that closely matched the recycled brick that was being replaced.
Description of Work: Premier Masonry repaired two chimneys, and a window sill & pony wall underneath my front bay window. Both chimneys had the top courses of brick, above the roof line, completely removed and replaced and a new cement crown installed. The pony wall was completely replaced as there was water damage underneath the brick. (A different contractor replaced the rotten wood underneath the brick.) Several spalled bricks were cut out of the chimneys and replaced with new brick.

Steve Boeggeman came out to provide a bid for the chimney repair and tuckpoint as well as lower patio wall brick repair and restoration. He provided the best options out of all bids for the restoration of 1925 brick (especially the lower patio wall repair that was particularly tricky bearing weight of the porch). The work was completed within 2 days and the quality is excellent! I was especially impressed with repairs to the patio brick and how Steve was able to use brick from the chimney to keep original look of the patio, while putting on two new rows of chimney brick at the top to create a nice design but still maintain period details. Steve definitely takes pride in his work and stands behind its quality. I have recommended him to my neighbors and would work with him again in the future.
Description of Work: Tuckpoint the Chimney; add two rows of new bricks at the top, install counter flashing at roofline, install stainless steel chimney caps. Repair lower patio wall by removing loose bricks at the end of the wall, clean and reset, also replace freeze damaged brick with chimney brick to maintain original look and design. Reinstall decking after lower patio work was completed.

Excellent customer service.
Description of Work: I called and spoke to Lisa about a project I need to have done. My project is time sensitive because of the approaching graduation of my daughter. She said they are booked out too far in advance and would not be able to do the job by that date. Although she knew I wouldnt be able to hire her company she was very helpful and answered many of my questions. She also offered a referral to another outfit that has worked out well. If the need comes up again in the future I will call Premier Masonry first.
Very professional. They came to look at the chimney and gave me a quote on the 1st day. On job day, arrived on time and finished the entire job nicely and quickly. Very satisfied with service. Price on the high side!

The entire experience was great. We had the job bid in early December but knew we wouldn't have the money until early January -- which worked well with their schedule too. However, we had an immediate need to stop the torrential rains from continuing to leak into the attic. After bidding the job, but before we accepted and scheduled the work, they sent a crew up on the roof to wrap the chimney to prevent further water damage (at no charge). This was extremely appreciated. On the day the work was scheduled, the crew arrived on time, and quickly removed and replaced the old chimney; cleaning up and removing all of the debris upon completion of the job. A very nice and respectful crew. I would definitely recommend them to others needing masonry work.

I am extremely happy with the the quality of service we received from Steve of Premier Masonry Restoration in both cases, and I am still amazed that he did not charge us for the second visit. If we need help with our wood stove or chimney in the future, we will definitely go with Steve again.
Description of Work: I recently asked Steve of Premier Masonry Restoration to check out our wood stove because I was having a hard time starting fires without generating a bunch of smoke. Steve came out to our house to check out the wood stove and it turns out it was totally a case of "operator error". I was overloading the stove with wood before trying to start fires. Steve showed me how to do it right. He spent over one hour on this call, but charged me nothing. two years prior, Steve worked on the same wood stove because we were getting cold drafts coming into the house through the stove. Steve fixed the draft problem, cleaned the stove and chimney, and only charged about $100 (i don't recall the exact amount). super service and the job was done right, no more drafts.

They were very responsive to our calls and questions and came they said they would. Did not leave a mess, were very nice. When the bulk of the work was completed and we noticed a gap from some of the cement work after it dried, they promptly returned and fixed it up, no extra charge or hassle. Honored Angie's list coupon and like how the chimney looks now.

Steve of the Premier Masonry Restoration LLC gave a reasonable bid to start with. After I receiving several other bids I decided to go with Steve. It was just starting of the wonderful experience. The job was scheduled two months down the road (job date: 12/12/2012). On that day they absolutely did what they said on the contract. Four crew of Premier Masonry seem are very friendly too. Over all, they did not play game and did their best from day one to the end. Simple and pressure-free. Nowadays, there is not many such old fashion contractor around. My house has a vent from the basement up to the roof. I'm not sure that it's being used any more, but the bricks were falling apart and I didn't want the chimney to collapse. They were able to remove the old bricks, and replaced the old chimney with a new, capped one.

We were getting ready to list our house and needed to repair our chimney quickly. Steve spent time reviewing the scope of work with me and presented several options. Premier was punctual on calling to do the original estimate, showed up the day they said the project would start, and they meticulous on detail in both the work and cleanup. My house is on a slope with considerable greenery and ground cover that they worked around. I was shocked that each day I came home and there was no trash, no debris, and no vegetation damage. Like all projects where you have to tear down the wall facing to see how bad it is, in this one, I thought the damage was only about 10 feet up the chimney. As the facing was removed it ended up requiring pulling the facing off to the top (about 30 ft). The additional height was outside of the agreed upon scope of the job. It took Steve and team about another 1 - 1.5 days to complete the additional distance and underlying repairs. At that point he could have pretty much charged anything becuase I was stuck. He did appropriately charge more for the additional labor and materails but VERY fair and resonable.
Description of Work: Steve at Premier removed the stone facing off the bottom ~ 20 feet of the chimney, removed the wood behind the facing which was rotten and reinstalled a blend of new stone vaneer with re-use of what could be salvaged. He also installed grout between the facing and siding along about 100 ft where the original builder failed to do it.

Overall we were very pleased with the estimate and installation experience. Premier's pricing was competitive with the other bids that we got and he offered us a special deal if we could schedule it within the next week. They seemed very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and gave recommendations for coordinating with our roofing job and future plans of installing a gas insert. We had not been using our wood fireplace as an inspector had told us it was a fire hazard due to crumbling mortar. We were getting the roof redone and decided fixing the chimney at the same time would make sense so called around to find out what needed to be done. We got three quotes: 2 recommended rebuilding the chimney from the roofline up to code height (ours was about 1 foot too short) and installing a flexible liner to reduce condensation in the chimney and protect the brickwork, 1 that said that was a waste of time that brick has done fine for hundreds of years and we only needed to fix loose mortar and install an extra tall ceramic tile top piece to be up to code. This was definitely a difference between new school approach of "tear it out and rebuild" versus an old school approach of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." We appreciated both opinions, however, after looking at chimneys in the neighborhood and the different ways that people have adapted their chimneys to match code, we decided we wanted the look of the full, taller chimney without the funny-looking extra tall ceramic tops. The price and the schedule was right so we went with Premier. I'm sure the other bidders would have done an excellent job as well. Installation was excellent and fast. Two guys came and completed the work in 1 extra-long day. They really put in 100% and more. They were friendly and professional and did an excellent job cleaning up and respecting the property. The brick we chose is GORGEOUS and I'm so happy with the end results. The only complaint I would have is the back and forth communication by email, although very timely, was a little confusing and we had a mix-up about the final price. In retrospect, I should have asked for a final bid after we had gone back and forth about some options but I didn't, either that or really, they should have supplied a new itemized copy at that point. At the end of the work day, I got back on the phone with Steve to ask for an explanation of the final price and he was a little testy, which was disappointing, as I was just looking for a clarification and being a good consumer, not trying to nickel and dime the company. This aside, the quality of the work was so high and my previous conversations with him were very professional, thus I would not hesitate recommending Premier. They came out a couple months later as promised to apply a breathable water-repellent sealant for an extra $125. I'm still not positive this was totally necessary but they made it sound like it would be beneficial in the long run.

Great folks to work with because they were honest and told me that I didn't need work that I thought I may have needed. The chimney was inspected and my concerns addressed, then an appointment was scheduled to have both chimneys capped. The chimney was capped while I was at work on the appointed day. Couldn't even tell that anyone had been there except for the two new caps on the chimney. What a pleasure to have no drama and to have such professional work accomplished. I recommend them

Our roofer recommended them for good reason.
Description of Work: New flashing installed after near flat re-roofing. 6 months later, a leak developed but they promptly returned and fixed the problem for free.
Premier Masonry has repaired my home chimney and cleaned and maintained it. They also went out of their way to take care of a rental home I was prepping for sale, going a little outside of their normal area to do tuckpointing and replacing the chimney cap. They scheduled it at a time when I could be there, got one of their employees to make the trip, and even came back to touch-up when it was needed. They are always professional, do a great job, and are honest (if you don't need a service, they will say so.)I whole-heartedly recommend them. They are not the least-expensive outfit in town, but then you get what you pay for.

Overall the experience was very good. When asked to come and give an estimate the estimator arrived on time. Steve was thorough in that he showed me specifically the issues with my chimney (the disintegrating moarter above the roofline, the completely spalled bricks and the lose brick on the shoulder). He presented me with several options for repairs form a complete replacement to the minimum necessary to stop further damage from occuring. After agreeing to a scope of work he was able to start in the same week. His crew showed up on time and despite winds reaching 30 mph and receiving an inch of rain on the second day, they were still able to complete the work on time! My eye is untrained when it comes to masonry but it appears to be very good work.
Description of Work: Our chimney above the roofline was in disrepair. The moarter was unsalvagable and many bricks were lose and spalling. Additionally the shoulder where the chimney widened about 5 feet above the ground had several loose bricks that could simply be picked up and removed by hand. It was town down to the soffet and rebuilt and the shoulder was rebuilt as well.

An inspection of the home I purchased indicated that the counter-flashing on the chimney was pulling away from the chimney, potentially permitting moisture to degrade the masonry work. I called three companies out to provide estimates, and two (including Premier) noted that there were also some cracks in the concrete on the crown that should be dealt with. Of the three companies, Premier's estimate was roughly equal to that of the company that didn't spot (or estimate for) the crown problem, but a bit more than a company that wanted to "patch" the cap with a sealant. Premier's price was reasonable and offered to address the problem more thoroughly by saw cutting and removing the crown, then re-setting the flue tiles and pouring a new crown on top of the chimney, so I went with them. They also came recommended by a well-rated (on Angie's List) roofing company, and Steve, who came out to do the estimate, gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, the first two appointments with Premier were postponed at the last minute because of snow or rain. Premier offered to do the job as scheduled anyway, but -- noting that the moisture might impair the concrete pour -- I took them up on their offer to reschedule. (Minor "points off" for how late these reschedules came, but there's only so much you can do about the weather.) At the end of the day, the job looks great and I haven't had any problems. I'd hire them again.
Description of Work: Removed counter-flashing and installed new flashing by saw cutting into the masonry and cutting to the roofline; saw cut and removed mortar crown on top of chimney, then re-set flue tiles and poured a new crown
