Rob Potts and Potts Painting really know how to not only provide an excellent service, but they really understand customer service. Rob is attentive to his clients' needs and concerns and he has trained his staff to do the same. Their attention to detail in the paint quality extends to their attention to detail in the little things that matter to a homeowner--things like protecting floors and surfaces with drop cloths and masking. Our home isn't new, not in perfect condition, and as a homeowner, I sometimes don't care for it the way I should. Potts Painting cared for my home during the painting process better than I do. And now that my home has a fresh exterior, I care about it even more! I'm amazed at the life that new exterior paint gave to our home. Now when I pull into my driveway and see our exterior, I'm proud of our home! Thanks Rob for attention to detail, excellent execution, and great customer service.

Our house looks beautiful. The project started about when Rob said it would. His crew was friendly and quiet. They cleaned up each day. Rob aims to please and visits the site frequently. This is our second house painting project with Rob and we were satisfied both times.
Description of Work: We had our 2 story house exterior painted including the front porch, back deck and stair railing. The house was pressure washed, scraped and sanding to a moderate degree and received two coats of paint (sprayed and back rolled).

I had a great experience with Potts Painting. The workers were professional and the job was amazing! They responded quickly to my requests and did a great job matching my colors. There was very little disruption to our lives as the job took less time than I expected. The best thing was one of the days after they had painted it started to rain. They called me to check and make sure everything was OK, then the owner himself, Rob Potts, came out to touch up everything after the rain even though I thought it looked great. What service!!

It all started out very positive. I called to set up a time for an estimate and Rob Potts, the owner, came out within a couple of days on April 8, 2016. I emailed his bid to me later in the day. After receiving a couple other bids we decided to go with Potts. On April 29th I emailed and asked to be placed on their schedule. At that time he said they were scheduled out until June. On May 17 and 18, he sent out a guy, Joel, to fill and patch some insulation holes, as well as do some scraping and sanding that would need to be done before the pressure washing. We had lead in our paint so Joel was supposed to follow lead safe procedures which were an extra charge on our contract. He did an excellent job filling the holes. He left things clean and we didn't notice any paint chippings anywhere. The pressure washing was then done on the 20th. The crew came out to start the job on Thursday, May 26th. They were to caulk, sand, prime, etc. Given the fact that we had lead in our paint, I was surprised to see that they didn't seem to be concerned about paint chippings falling on the ground while working. I reminded them about the lead and suggested they put tarps down (not sure why they weren't down in the first place). They didn't speak much English and I don't speak Spanish so it was difficult to communicate. At the end of the day I did a walk through to check out the progress. I was immediately disappointed to find that they had crushed some plants that I had only planted a week earlier. Even more disappointing was the paint drippings and marks in various places on our front and backyard pavers. There were drippings, tread marks from a shoe, and markings that looked like over spray or possibly marks from a ladder. We weren't sure what they were from. I immediately emailed Rob about this. He responded and apologized for the plants and assured me that they will definitely be able to clean up the paint spots. The next morning was a damp one but the crew showed up along with Rhys, a production manager, to go over the progress. They looked at the paint spots on the ground and didn't seem to be all that concerned about cleaning them. Because of the rain that day, they decided to send the crew home. This was the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. We agreed to have them come out to paint on Memorial Day as we didn't have many plans. The down side of this was being inside our house with windows covered and taped for 3 days. On Memorial Day, the crew came back out to paint and we were told they would finish up the job that day. We don't have any experience with exterior house painting and were surprised to hear they would finish. Rhys came out later in the day to do a walk through. We pointed out a number of spots that needed touching up. There was some caulking that should have been done but was missed so we asked that they go back and do that. At this point they started to try and clean up the spilled paint. They used paint thinner and scrub brushes but weren't able to remove it. Rhys then told us that Mr. Potts would like to have his pressure washer come out and do the cleaning the following week once the paint had time to set. They seemed to be confident that this would resolve the issue so we agreed. They crew had finished the paint job. Rob Potts sent over our final invoice that included a reduction in price for the lead-safe procedure which I thought was fair. This is when we made the mistake of paying our balance. On June, 5, I emailed Rob to let him know about a couple of spots that we noticed needed some touching up. We also decided that we didn't like the look of the "belly wrap" that, after going back and forth, we decided to have painted white along with the trim. To repaint it with the body color, navy, Rob said they would maybe charge $800 but he would have to look at it again. He came out himself on the 6th to do the touch-ups himself. The next day, June 7, his pressure washer showed up as promised to do the cleaning. I pointed out to him what needed to be cleaned and then had to leave for work. When I got home that evening, I was immediately struck by how clean our driveway was. However, as I walked around I could see that all of our concrete pavers looked different. The polymeric sand grout was completely blown out in some places and moved around in others. They pavers in our front and side yards all looked as though the surface had been worn away revealing the stones and colors inside. There were some pavers with chips in them. There were markings from the water itself. Then I went into our backyard, afraid of what I would find. At first glance, the patio look nice and clean but as I inspected more closely I could see the damage to them. They still had the paint marks on them and they were now covered in circular markings from the washer. The color looked different. There were chippings in them. Grout had also been blown out. On top of the damaged pavers, there were some plants that had been blown out of the ground from the pressure of the water. Also, the freshly painted siding all around the house where the washing had occurred was no covered in dirt and water marks. I was so angry and disgusted to see all of this. We had just spent thousands of dollars not even a year ago to have our yard landscaped and pavers installed and now they were ruined. I contacted Rob about it and he simply said, "Sorry for the mess." I asked that he have somebody come back out and very carefully clean the siding. He sent Rhys the next day to clean it up. However, she didn't do that thorough of a job because my husband had to do a lot more cleaning after she had left. The pressure washing had blown debris all the way under our eaves. While here, Rhys did notice a number of areas where the siding had shrunk revealing lines of our old paint. They agreed to come out and touch it up. Also, we asked that they repaint the "belly wrap" and did state that we weren't going to pay more for them to do it. A few more days passed and each day we would find more and more damaged areas on our pavers. I contacted Rob about it again and didn't get anything from him regarding the issue. He said he would be out to do the touch-ups and repaint the belly. No apologies, nothing about the pavers. Rob came out on Friday, June 17 to confirm the changes we wanted. My husband spoke to him about the pavers again and we still didn't get anything from him. He was silent. He said he would come out on Monday the 20 to do the painting changes and touch ups. He did come out to do the painting himself, along with one crew member. They finished the painting that day and that was the last time we heard from them. We were shocked to find more of fresh paint drippings on the back patio. Unbelievable. Over the next week we had someone come out to look at our pavers to see if there was anything that could be done about the damage. They will never look the way they did and can never be truly fixed. To have them cleaned up a bit and sealed to further protect would cost us over $3000. So, I emailed Rob on June 27 to tell him how angry we are and that we would like a refund of half the amount we paid him--this would be $3500. This is money that we need to go towards any repairing that can be done. We believe that this is more than fair as we should be asking to have them completely replaced. I didn't hear a word from him. I gave him a week to respond and emailed him again on July 5. This time I attached pictures to remind him of the damage. Still no word. After 24 hours, I emailed him a final time and stated that since he is choosing to completely ignore us, I would begin spreading my reviews about his company. I have even filed a claim with his liability insurance company. Today is July 7, and I have yet to hear from Rob Potts.

Rob was very professional and courteous, and the price was reasonable. The only reason we did not have Potts Painting do the work was due to the fact that my husband decided he wanted to do the entire job himself.

We had a great experience. Our house needed an exterior facelift badly! Rob was helpful with choosing colors, super responsive and the bid was competitive. I chose them because I felt he understood the job the best. The prep and painting went very smoothly and they even installed my new house numbers. Crew was courteous and friendly and the leads spoke very good English. I love the new look!

Rob and his crew were great! The railing on our upper and lower deck as well as the two built-in benches hadn’t been painted in who knows how long and looked awful. Several of the posts needed to be replaced or helped along with Bondo wood filler. They took care of the needed carpentry as well as the painting work, moving our yard furniture and planters out of the way and then back again. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend them.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. All communication via phone and email was done in a seamless and timely manner. Potts never left me wondering about any detail. Everyone I spoke with: office personnel, Abe, who met with me and provided the bid, the contractors who performed the work, and Himself, the owner were respectful and professional from start to finish. They showed up when they said they would and did what they said they would do in an efficient and timely way. The prep work and the paint work was performed with an eye to detail that beat my expectations. The finished product is better than I envisioned due to the crew's attention to detail. I couldn't be happier. Would I call Potts again? Without a doubt, absolutely!

It went very well. They were a little behind on their schedule due to rain (I think the last rain we had this summer!) and asked to work through the weekend. In 2 days the entire house and fence were painted and stained. There was a large crew, and they worked their tails off. The quality was very good, and you could tell they took pride in their work. They were always very professional in dealing with me and my family who were at the house most of the time. They were not the cheapest quote we got, but our house hadn't been painted in some time and I wanted someone with experience. They did a fantastic job.

Potts Painting did a great job. We contacted them in February and they were very good at keeping us informed on the schedule. On choosing the color, Rob said to let them know if there was a house that we liked the color of it and he would match it. We did have a house that we liked and they matched the color perfectly. We also chose them based on the fact that they could do the small repairs that needed to be done for a reasonable cost. They made a suggestion on an additional repair to the chimney by replacing some trim that was not well attached and was uneven for less than $200. It was a great suggestion and I am so glad we did it ? that repair made a huge difference. Our house looks like new! The staff was hard-working and professional and before they left the job, Rob Potts was there making sure we were happy with the result. The final invoice was exactly what they had quoted us and we got the Angie?s list discount. The cost listed includes repairs of about $700. We would use them again.

I was very impressed with Rob Potts (owner) and his Potts Painting Crew (Travis and Joel). I interviewed and received quotes from 5 painters prior to our project (all highly rated on Angie's List). Potts Painting was not the lowest, but close and fair. I was impressed by Rob as we discussed the project, both on initial phone call and in person on site. It was an easy choice to go with Potts Painting. He listened to my needs, clearly wanted to understand my goals and timeline, and offered good recommendations for our project (both on the painting, and our real estate project at large). He provided a bid quickly (itemized to various options and components I was considering), worked with me on paint colors and various questions i had. He started the project within 1 week (fast!) and finished it within 2 days (also fast). Great quality painting, setup by good washing/scraping/prepping. Robb knew we were preparing the house for sale, but didn't take shortcuts I believe others might be tempted to make in that situation. I will use Potts Painting for future projects.

I had a vision of how an exterior house painting project was going to go...it would take forever, there would be a mess everywhere, I wouldn't know who was at my home, etc...definitely glass half empty. Potts was awesome. I would recommend them to all of my friends. Our lead painter Cody was so consistent, tidy, provided amazing customer service and went above and beyond to make my family happy. Cody had a team helping him on a few days and my experience with those individuals was the same. They went through a process of cleaning each night, communicating the phases of the project, letting me know progress, stopping and asking questions when appropriate and so on. The work was meticulous, and Rob, the owner, was at my house on the last day to make sure he was satisfied enough to put his stamp on it as well. Potts may be a little pricier than the competition, but the quality of their work is fantastic and service is stellar.
