Potts Painting

I reached out to several painters found on Angie's List. The consensus was that my job was fairly small, so I had trouble getting most of them to schedule estimates (it sounds like it's good to be a painter in Seattle right now). Potts was one of two who indicated they would be able to do the estimate and painting in a reasonable time frame. Of the two, Potts was much more professional and responsive (returning calls and honoring promised timeframes for communication). The owner came out to do the estimate in the morning, and he had emailed a PDF bid sheet by the afternoon. While he was on site, he also discussed the possibility of sending a crew the next day if the weather was bad since mine was an indoor job. Although they were slightly higher than the other painter, I elected to go with Potts because the owner had made a good impression. We spoke on the phone that evening and scheduled his crew for the next morning. At that time, I realized I had forgotten to point out in person where the prior owners had done a poor job of masking and had painted onto the grout atop the backsplash tiles. Rob said he would take a look in the morning when he arrived with the crew. When Rob and crew arrived, they came up with a plan to remove the paint from the grout. It involved a lot of elbow grease. His crew got to work prepping and scraping while he went to buy the paint. His crew was polite and efficient; they were done in about seven hours. I was trying to undo questionable accent paint choices by the prior owners; this entailed trying to repaint sections of the house to match an existing neutral color. Rob had his crew repaint several places of the existing, neutral color where he wanted to be sure that the transition to fresh coats of the same color was smooth. All in all, this was an easy, quick, good experience. I would use Potts again.

After receiving several bids, we decided to work with Rob and his team because the bid was fair (not the lowest), he wasn't pushy, reviews were positive, and he projected ease and integrity. We're glad we did as the completed job more than satisfied our expectations. Neighbors have complimented the end result as well. Would definitely work with them again. Fernando, Junior, Dmitri and Rob were a great crew.

We were concerned because we have extensive flower beds close to the house. Potts Painting showed extreme care to hold damage to a minimum. I was impressed with their attention to detail and all of the little extra things they did that they discovered and fixed for which they didn't charge extra. They did their best to accommodate our tight schedule, starting on time and putting extra men on the job to maintain schedule. All of their workers were considerate of our property, they were polite and very professional. And dealing with Rob Potts was a real pleasure.

I had received 2 other bids for my painting project. Rob's bid came in the middle of the others and I decided to go with Rob. We set up the job to be done in July. Rob was able to work around our schedule and accommodate our schedule. We were in the process of listing our home and we needed the job done in order to get the windows washed and the house put back together. Of course the week we decided to paint was the week when we had the wettest 2 days in the history of July ever. Rob was still able to accommodate us and our needs. The last day he was there, we needed him done so that we could get the windows washed the following day. He put 2 extra workers on the job and once again worked with our schedule. I run a small business and I know customer service when I see it, and Rob provided us with GREAT customer service. His crew was also great to work with, the job is excellent, the price was fair and we got a beautiful house painted perfectly. Thank you Rob. Keep up the great work and I will be referring you to anyone I hear that needs painting done.

We are very excited with the results. Rob Pott's crew, headed by Fernando communicated with us throughout the project to be sure we were pleased. Rob Potts personally inspected the finished product and corrected a few items we had not noticed. The colors were perfect. The preparation (power wash, scraping, sanding, putty, prime) was carefully done. We would highly recommend Rob and his company to anyone who needs exterior house painting performed in a professional manner.

Rob, Josh and David were incredibly professional, kind and thorough. Rob even got roped into color consultation. What I appreciated most was his honesty. He was not crazy about my initial color choice for the door and after thinking about it, I realized he was right. We initially contacted him last October for a quote but since he was done with exteriors for the season, he put us on the list for the beginning of this summer. He was immediately responsive to our initial inquiry, came out the next day and submitted his reasonably priced quote that evening. He then made contact with us in March to see if we were still interested and continued to keep in touch with updates as the date got closer. The job: Josh and David were responsible for the prep and painting and they were fantastic! They were at our house exactly when they said they would be and were busy from the moment they started until they finished. Our job started on Monday and they were done end of day Friday - exactly to the projected schedule. They were very professional with an acute attention to detail. The house looks fantastic and we couldn't be more pleased. We would absolutely hire them again and certainly recommend them to anyone.

Amazing job performs by Potts employee. They fixed the wall and made them look like a brand new house. I would call them back next time for interior job since their performance was exceed my expectation.

Taking time off work is not particularly easy. I wanted to meet them to show them the project and discuss my needs. No one showed up, bothered to call, or email. I finally left at 9am. It's now 5pm and still not a word from them. If this is how they treat a potential client, I can't imagine how they'd treat you once you hired them. Waste of time.

Rob was very responsive to our first call and was able to provide an estimate to us very quickly. Compared to the other bids we received, this bid was the most competitive, and had priced out with higher-quality paints. Instead of giving us one paint option, he also priced out multiple options without us asking. He also scheduled a visit with his color consultant that helped us choose the right color before we started the work. All in all, the work was done quickly and the workers were polite, fast, and had a good eye for detail. Looking forward to hiring them again in the future!

We would not hesitate to use Rob Potts again! He and his group were great. They were on time. They were careful and did all the necessary taping, priming, painting, and cleanup of our entire interior, as well as the inside of our 2-car garage, including the epoxy floor. They were on time. We were living in Ohio at the time and wanted the condo work done before we moved in November. They had to go by our daughter's home to get he condo key and they were great about returning it to her. They also had to finish the job by a specific date and they did. One of the complications Rob had to deal with was a wall of barnwood that had been nailed over drywall, which we wanted removed, repaired and the wall underneath repainted. They did a great job!!! Rob also had to paint over natural wood trim around windows and on built-in cabinets in the great room. It looks great! We have recommended Rob to several friends.

I called Rob at 5:30 pm one afternoon and he called me back at 8:00 am the following day. We scheduled an appointment for the bid. Rob showed up promptly to check out what we needed done. While he was here we asked him to give us a bid to paint our popcorn ceilings. Rob gave got back to us with the bid later that evening. We scheduled a date and time to get the ceilings done and paint the exterior, weather permitting. Rob's crew showed up on time to start the job. Travis and Ian were great guys and worked all day to complete the ceilings. The crew came by the next day and competed the entire job. On time and on budget. Robb and his crew went above and beyond to help us out and make our place look great. Thank you Robb and thank you Angie's List!

Rob's team did a great job! Neighbors have complimented our home and someone even took a photo. Every time we pull into our driveway we are excited all over again about our sharp "new" home. Rob's quote was very detailed and it was clear he was a seasoned professional. The job started in Spring and Rob had to maneuver his schedule around rainy patches. He always used excellent judgment when planning when to paint and when not to. He discussed paint colors with me at length, with great patience and a wonderful sense of humor. He was easy to communicate with in person, by phone, or by email. He is a pleasure to work with and I had confidence in him since I met him and he gave us our quote. The crew, Travis, Ian, and Cody, were a pleasure to be around, respectful and professional and cleaned up completely each day. They worked diligently, consistently, and with an eye for detail. They pointed out places they needed to retouch that I didn't even notice (and I notice everything!). Rob showed up each day to review the work. I always felt like a very important customer. A couple of times things didn't go as planned, but Rob and the whole team were dedicated to excellent customer service and a perfect result, and resolved any problem quickly, easily, and painlessly. We were satisfied with his work. He stained our house in September. I don't remember the cost. We have always painted out house. We are seventy and our husband said that he is not getting out on that ladder anymore. We had three come out and give us estimates, he was not the cheapest but we used him because he seemed more knowledgeable. He took more time and wanted to know exactly what we wanted. We have always used Cabot and they changed their formula, he recommended a better brand and I liked his knowledge. The cans are out in the garage. He left the paint out there for touch up. They came out and did a really good job. The last day he had all his crew here because it was raining nearby and they came up here in their down time to finish up. Three days later the rain started falling and I was happy that the job was done before the rains came. He did a very good job and they cleaned up their mess. The only thing I noticed was that they had moved a big, heavy ceramic pot filled with dirt and forgot to put it back. They got here in time and they got two days after they primer-ed and they couldn't paint because it rained and then two days to dry out after it rained and then they finished up on the last next days. They had six guys painting the house and it took three days. They got here when they said they would. I like him because he is knowledgeable and professional and he has a good vibe about him.

Rob was punctual in arriving for the evaluation of work to be done and providing an estimate by email. The work started when he said it would and his crew did the work efficiently.

Rob and his crew were very prompt and got the job done quickly. Rob's very responsive in returning emails and calls. It was a great experience overall.

Rob Potts and his crew did an absolutly fantastic job and everyone who has visited us since it was completed could only say WOW! I plan to use Potts Painting again as we now want to do the upper rooms of the house. Highly recomend him and his crew!

ON TIME AND UNDER BUDGET We probably over-did it when it came to getting quotes, but of the 6 or 7 we received, Potts was middle of the pack. The lower priced quotes did not cover the light carpentry and the higher priced quotes were... well, they were higher. So, we went with Rob. He was extremely flexible, made no fuss of us changing the date one week prior, and collected the deposit on Day 1 of the job rather than 2-4 weeks in advance as others required. He told us exactly what to expect each day of the project, there were no surprises. They also worked with a plan, knowing that we were living in the house all week, to give us enough room to live and sleep without feeling cramped or "under-construction." I didn't get the names of the crew, but they were all friendly, hard-working and not bad to have in the house all week! In the end, the paint is professional and exactly what we wanted. The final price came in below his original quote and they finished exactly when they said they would. Fantastic experience.

Rob came out the same day I called to get an estimate. Due to a smoke event in our home we had to get several bids for painting/sealing the interior of our home in a short period of time. We got 5 bids for insurance and he was right in the middle with cost.. He was able to start the next week. His crew showed up every day on time for 4-5 days. I was amazed how everything was protected and masked off. He also fixed some cracked drywall in some ceilings and that turned out good. His crew also took down some wallpaper in a bathroom and mudded and retextured the walls for a reasonable price. It took more time than they planned and had to come back to smooth out one wall more but it turned out nice. They also sealed a few rooms with Shellac to cover up any smoke odor that may have remained. The paint job looks very nice. So overall I would recommend Potts Painting and I would use them again. Rob is very personable and was helpful through our rushed, difficult process. One thing I should mention: If you have any drywall work done, make sure they do a good cleanup. There was a layer of dust that was left on all the plastic sheeting when they took everything down, so was on all the surfaces, including floors, furniture, countertops. If it wasnt for the restoration company coming back in to re-clean the house, I would have had to do it myself and I would have refrained from giving them as high a rating.

Provided excellent input and feedback regarding paint colors with focus on the overall design of my home and colors that should or should not be chosen and provided reasoning for colors used. Also provided input regarding quality and price of brand name paint manufacturers.

I had trouble deciding on paint colors and Rob was very helpful and patient. Rob even came over beforehand to review the colors at our home --- to help us decide colors! We are very pleased with the service provided and would go with Potts Painting for future jobs.

This is our second time using Potts Painting and we're return customers for a reason. The crew showed up on time, was professional, and left the place in better condition than when they came. The owner followed up with us to insure we were happy with the work performed and was willing to come out touch up anything that might have been missed. They aren't the lowest cost painter but you get what you pay for and the small premium is well worth it.

Initially, communication was lacking. I had agreed to the bid in Aug, but due to weather and their schedule, it didn't happen until Oct. Unless I called to check on the start date, Rob did not keep in touch to let me know. However, once the painting began, the painters did a fantastic job. They were always prompt and professional. My house required extensive scraping and prep which they did at no extra cost from the bid. They also made all repairs where necessary and made sure I was happy to the finish. I received 2 other bids and also spoke with 3 of their prior customers before choosing them. I am very happy I chose them and have recommended them to all my friends.
