The concrete (exposed aggregate) walkway leading to our front door had been lifted in places by tree roots and otherwise damaged. After receiving several estimates we determined that replacement would not cost a lot more than repair, and would provide much better results. Ken from Kenwest worked patiently worked with us over several in-person consultation visits and made some very helpful suggestions on how the work could be improved. He explained costs for extra work, and offered to significantly reduce some of the extra costs by having me do some of the simpler tasks myself. Throughout the work process, it was evident that Ken and his staff took great care to get everything just right. As scheduled, the actual work extended over about a 10 day period, including some minor weather delays. The result looks great -- much better than the old walkway even before it was damaged.

Description of Work: Ken formed and poured a concrete patio. He was open, honest and helpful. He provided more interest that other companies who quoted and was very competitive on price. I would recommend to friends and use him in future.

Ken Smith, owner, and his helper Justin really do tremendous quality work. There are a lot of folks who do concrete, but the thing that distinguishes Ken is his attention to detail and a high quality finish. He does a first class job and does not take shortcuts, in fact, he typically goes beyond the original bid to make improvements. He is very consultative before he does anything to make sure you are satisfied. He also follows all the local codes. Very high regard for his work and professionalism. Same for Justin.
Description of Work: He redid my driveway and revamped the slope slightly to allow water to move off. He tied it into the previous work that was done.
Ken Smith, owner of Kenwest Concrete is in my view an old world craftsman who takes great pride in doing quality work. His finish work is outstanding. He did an aggregate for the walkways and porch and a smooth surface for the carport. He consistently added nice touches to make the job better without tacking on more than minimal $ for materials. He was patient and we discussed all items ahead of time and he delivered exactly what was promised. His assistance Justin was terrific as well -a very hard worker and very skilled. It's the quality details that separate Ken from others. I went by and saw two other projects he had done prior and spoke with one owner who could not say enough nice things either. Ken has been doing this for over 30 years, and experience counts! My second phase will be to do the driveway itself in the Spring. I highly recommend Ken. He can be reached at 425-827-3824
