Jordan River Moving & Storage

We packed the small boxes, pictures and small appliances and left the furniture for the movers. They arrived 1.5 hours late. They retaped every box we had already taped and in doing so flipped boxes upside down and over and over. When the boxes arrived at the destination and were carted into the house the majority had to be turned over so we could see what room to put them in, which was marked on the top of the box. Even though boxes were carefully packed vases, crystal, and even pieces of the furniture they packed were broken. The driver had one more stop after us and rushed the kids unloading our boxes. When we told him we wouldn't sign off on his paperwork until our furniture was reassembled like when they packed it he yelled at us and told us we had a bad attitude. He yelled at his workers and made us feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend this company.

Not as well as I had hoped. I used this company approximately three years ago and they were excellent. This time, I had difficulty getting a definite date and time for the move. Although I was told that they would call Friday before the scheduled move on Monday, no call came. Nor did the company answer my husband's calls to them on Friday. Finally on Saturday, I sent an email that indicated that I would assume that they were declining the job if I did not hear from them that day. They did respond to the email with a start time on Monday. On Monday, the movers arrived on time. I gave them a printed document which described the items to be moved and the locations in which they were to be placed. Still, one item was not moved (we moved it later ourselves) and one item was left on the truck. Some small items (buttons for glass topped tables were missing).

Excellent. Great crew--friendly and cared about our stuff. Punctual all the way around. They moved several heavy items including my Huge Big Green Egg. Nothing broken or missing on arrival.

We needed help with an urgent local move and Jordan River was able to help. On two days notice they worked with us even as details were still coming together. They provided good value at the price with a three-person team (most other movers we contacted were offering two-person teams). Their insurance provider was very helpful talking through options. On move day, the team showed up on time at the proper location. The crew was very friendly, courteous and professional. They worked very efficiently, balancing speed with care for our belongings. Their care was evident as no items or moving locations were damaged. Jordan River really came through for us during a challenging time for our family and we would absolutely use them again.

Best moving experience ever! We needed to find someone on short notice to move furniture out of our home and into storage due to water damage repairs. Jordan River Moving & Storage was available to come out within days of scheduling our move. The crew was fantastic! Hard working, courteous, professional and so careful with everything they did! They used clean blankets and/or plastic to protect everything. They even successfully wrapped and moved our SubZero refrigerator out, something other companies were reluctant to handle. Their estimate was in line with their invoice, both the moving cost and their storage rates seem reasonable. Highly recommend this company!!

Great!! Our move went smooth and exceeded my expectations. All of our belongings arrived on time and in excellent condition! The staff was helpful and eager to answer any of my questions or concerns. I will be hiring them again for my next move.

We had used Jordan River twice in the past and had great experiences. This time, we had a crew of 4 men, and somehow it took them 12 hours to move us even though we were packed and ready when they arrived. I have never seen such slow movers. They re-taped tons of things, and did unnecessary disassembly of furniture that took way too long. We had half a truck of empty space at the end. One mover carried small boxes individually all day and played with a soccer ball while on the clock. Very unprofessional. They took so long that I sent them home once the truck was empty and just reassembled the furniture myself. Hardware was missing from furniture. I would not recommend this company anymore, sadly.

SO well! I was amazed at how quick, and professionally, the movers wrapped by belongings safely and then stacked them in the truck like a puzzle! They worked tirelessly for 8 hours and never complained, even when they had to struggle to get a sofa up a windy staircase. It didn't fit, but they sure tried! I valued their work ethic so much that I recommended them to move my father to eastern Washington, as he was moving a month later!

Jordan River is consistently excellent. Their crews are hard-working, professional, courteous and efficient.

Move went good, middle of busy summer and they were having email issues so I gave a B for responsiveness. Price was a little more than I wanted to pay but was worth it.

They were quick and efficient and we have already requested to see if they can be our mover on our next deployment. They also offer a military discount if you are doing a DITY move.

Best move ever!! Will recommend Jordan River to all my friends and family.

It generally went well. The three movers worked really fast to get things done. The estimate was slightly off and we ended up having to pay for an extra hour. All quotes we got were for the same amount of time, and the crew worked fast, so I think we just ended up having more stuff than anticipated.

Took longer than expected, but service was excellent

Two moves ago the mover just didn't show up and it was a complete mess. When I got to this move I didn't know how badly the previous move had scarred me, but for the 6 hours before the movers came I was just paralysed with fear, but the Jordan River Movers with Martin as the team captain finished my packing and just got her done. It was the best move I have ever had.

Fantastic company! Workmen were friendly and very fast. I was amazed at how cheerful they were at the end of a long day. I will never hire any other mover if it's necessary for me to move again!

Did not use this company, there should be N/A option for overall rating as well as the individual categories. "Would you hire again?" should also have a N/A option for the same reason

As unpacking continued: Two antique pieces of furniture seriously damaged. Many items have not been found, Tail on chinese horse broken. Too much damage to list. Because my husband just had surgery, I was not able to oversee the move so I have no idea what happened to things I can no longer find. I gave permission for a few items to be taken by the movers since the house we were moving to was smaller, No way to check on everything and figuring nothing serious could happen in seven blocks I did not take out extra insurance. Extremely negative experience. Later in the day when I went to check on the house to be emptied, I found a drawer in the kitchen that had some small nice items in it. These items were never in the drawer before. I felt that someone had placed them there so they could come back and get them. The movers knew that they had broken the top of the antique secretary and they never called it to my attention. Also, they broke a pull on an antique bedside cabinet. They knew they did this because the handle was placed in the drawer of the cabinet. It can not be fixed because of the age of the piece, the original handle is not available. I was told to make a list and get estimates but I cannot get the pieces to anyone for estimates and dealing with family issues it has been impossible to list everything missing. It is like a whole delivery was never taken off the truck.

They were patient, courteous, thorough and very professional. Would definitely hire them again, they did a fantastic job.

Absolutely nothing was broken. They were friendly and professional and I would certainly hire them again if need be. They made very short work and were very upbeat the entire time. It was a pleasure !

We are actually under a dispute with them right now and we're very upset. Our home wouldn't be ready until the month of January 2017. The entire time of the move it was planned or expected we would hire them to finalize our move so that the same men or workers would touch our stuff, know our stuff, and protect it from start to finish. Including the transition period from the storage unit. Moving days are hectic and I was there with all the guys. It was a long, full day as expected. We also agreed verbally to pay a $10 per packing pad fee deposit. That's where they keep all of our stuff packed in packing bags to protect it. When we're finally moved in to our final destination, they take it back, or it's my responsibility to return it to their storage. That was all under our pre talks that we had before they came to our location. When I called them back to hire them they said it would be an extra 3-6 hours of travel time, technically I live on an island and they would have to drive far around or take a ferry. They had told me prior that it was going to be an extra hour and a half travel time, like real time day travel. For some reason they just changed their mind, they were going to change it to 3-6 hours extra before they even arrived, I would have to pay that much hourly rate. They actually said, we appreciate your business but we advise you to hire a local moving company. We said okay, well that's fine. We were kind of bummed because we wanted them, they brought down our bed, we wanted them to put together our beds. We hired another moving company and the other moving company came and as soon as they opened up the storage unit, this local Silverdale Moving Company, it was like, oh my goodness, who did you guys hire to do this? They did a horrible job the way they packed you in here, it's not safe, things are squished. Then we had this very expensive, hand made, like a company hand made it, custom built oak table. Jordan River placed it sideways, like vertical, and put saran wrap around it. Storage units are like ten by ten or ten by twelve and they put like boxes and bins and furniture on the top of it. These men were like, it's split, the wood was split three fourths of the way down, like what do you want us to do, and I'm like well I have to get out of this storage unit, like we only paid until tomorrow for the storage unit, and Jordan River isn't going to come no six hours to get over here. They were like, make sure you contact them. The first two items that they put on the truck were vacuum cleaners, two vacuum cleaners, and they just place them in the back of the storage unit, can you imagine with all the things getting piled in and on. One of them was completely demolished, I threw it away at the storage unit, like, this is ridiculous. There was this cheap, like $30, like end table basically, and that was completely smashed, it looked like an accordion, because they were the first thing in the storage unit. Two days after we had the table delivered, I contacted Jordan River, the lady on the phone was really nice. She said, you have six months to make a claim, take your time unpacking, make sure we open all the boxes because when you make a claim. So we waited and we were finally unpacked, we took our pictures, we did our description and then we filed it. Then she said, okay, well we want one of our representatives to come out and look at in person to see the damage to your dining room table, since it's the one with the most concern. Then she said, is my address blah blah blah Sugerdale, that is strange because she knew we were in a house. In January she mailed us the piece of paper to the new address. Her email reply to me was, oh your on Bainbridge?, I said, yes. She replied and then sent a letter in the mail last week and said, your claim has been denied because you needed to keep your items at the location and we drop them off. I'm thinking, seriously, how would we even know what our items looked like stuck in a storage unit. The crazy thing is, we on purpose, got a very large storage unit, their only one was completely full and the other was half full. It's not like I didn't provide the workers space. There was plenty of space to put the table, and the dumb thing is they left our Ikea kitchen table completely set up, the chairs were on the ground, like we could have eaten dinner in the storage unit with the cheap table. So now I'm waiting for Jordan Rivers to communicate back to me just to say, okay that's ridiculous, how would we have even known in a storage unit.

Overall things went well and there were only a few issues. The packers failed to follow the written note left on a drawer saying NOT to pack items in that drawer and there were a few broken items. Other than that they did a good job and I would definitely recommend them, especially since their price was so much more reasonable than the other quotes.

Crew had to go up and down three flights of stairs and did it without a hitch. They were very fast but careful and pleasant. Move could not have any better. Price was fair and below other quotes. Any communication with the company was handled quickly.

The company called the night before the move and said our time frame for the movers to arrive was between 3-5 PM, probably closer to 5 PM. Who moves at 5 PM, especially on a week night? The person I talked with basically said too bad. He said I will never find a mover at this late stage, so I might as well just suck it up. Well, I did find another mover who arrived at 10 AM the next day. I would never recommend Jordan River Moving. I should I have known it was suspect when they wouldn't give me a time or a window of time until late the evening before. They basically got a bigger, "more important" job and shoved my 2 bedroom apartment job to 5 PM slot. And the man I talked with chuckled at my predicament b/c he thought I had no other choices.
