IRC Kitchen & Bath

I hired David and his crew to do a partial remodeling of our kitchen. We kept the cabinets and major appliances. He did one of our bathrooms previously, and did a fantastic job. This time, the quality of work was a bit less, but still much better than any other alternatives. We left on a four-day trip and had him start working while we were gone. I had no issue leaving his men in the house on their own, and there were no issues from that. They did a great job making sure that we could still access the house, given that the kitchen was in the middle of things. They were fairly efficient, completing all of the work in about 9 days. While the previous bathroom work was, in my mind, fairly perfect, there were some imperfections in the kitchen job that I can live with but hope they aren't repeated elsewhere. There is no doubt that I'll call David again for future bathroom/tile work, though. While he's not the cheapest around, given the imperfections I know that the kitchen will be in great shape for a long time, and I'd trade off these imperfections for straight-up failures that may occur in the future.

The work was done on time and on budget. This was at a rental house, and David worked around the tenants' schedule and cleaned up each time so they weren't living in a mess. We were very happy with the work, and would use IRC again.

We had 3 bids and recognized quickly that David was going to be the most helpful will design and layout of the tile. He was open to using our tile selections and provided helpful suggestions for enhancing the design. His team is professional and hard working, as well as trustworthy. They cleaned up after the job on a daily basis, David is very responsive to his customers concerns and questions, and handles problems with ease. I would highly recommend I.R.C. for your next project, big or small. David and IRC were a particularly good fit for our project as we wanted to be more involved in the phases of our project. Update 1 1/2 yrs later, the bath is still perfect, thinking of hiring David and IRC for the next bath.

David was diligent in asking good questions to clarify our plan and offered advice that ultimately improved the plan. We also worked with a designer, Kayron Brewer of Studio kb. We as very supportive and worked well with her on any issues or questions that came up. The work he and his men did is great; electrical, plumbing, concrete, tile pan, tile floor, tile wall, built-in tile shower bench, quartz counter top, bench, and window sill, painting, heated floor, vanity/sink install. He was also unusually responsive to our concerns and preferences. He recommended using an epoxy grout which doesn?t smell once it?s cured and which doesn?t require re-sealing and we look good in 5 years when we want to sell. We was very responsive and offered to pick up quartz and finish it himself so we could remain on schedule for Christmas completion. He picked up additional tile and can light, too. We found David and his installers to be real craftsman when it comes to tile work. Not only was their work meticulous and polished, but he had an ?eye? for quality and aesthetics but he knew when to ask for our input In addition, we and his crew found him to be professional, polite, honest, trustworthy, and a pleasure to work with. We have teen daughters so we were a little worried about strangers in our home. But they were nothing but respectful. They vacuumed their way out of the house every night and painted the hall outside the bath. And they finished everything and cleaned up the worked area in garage and all the construction debris were taken to the bump. All in all, David exceeded our expectations and we are very excited about out new bath. We highly recommend working with David and IRC Tile and have 2 more bathrooms for him to remodel in the next year.

I found David to be more of an artisan when it comes to tile work. Not only was his work meticulous and polished, but he had an ?eye? for quality and aesthetics so he knew when to consult me about tile-grout details which might have affected the finished look. As if this weren?t reason enough to hire David, I found him to be professional, honest, and a pleasure to work with. He was also unusually responsive to my health concerns due to my allergies to chemicals?for example, he recommended using an epoxy grout which doesn?t smell once it?s cured and which doesn?t require re-sealing, and he even offered to bring me a sample so that I could smell it. All in all, David exceeded my expectations, which I?ll admit were high in the first place! Addition to my previous review: I forgot to add how responsive and flexible David was in accommodating the complications of my project. Due to my health problems I had to go out of town while he did the work, and the job had to be finished by the time I was scheduled to return home. Despite the fact that the tile didn?t arrive on time and we couldn?t get a clear delivery date from the manufacturer, and that David was already busy with other jobs, he kept checking his office during the day so he could pick up the tile as soon as it arrived. It arrived only days before my return home but somehow David managed to get the job done on time. And he did just as professional a job despite the rush and that I wasn?t around while the work was being done. In my experience, when I hire someone to work on my house when I?m not in town, very few people complete the job or they don?t do as polished work because I?m not around.

The work was performed in a timely and professional manner. We were very pleased with the quality of work that was done by David and his crew. David was extremely helpful in assisting with some design decisions, keeping in mind budget as well as our needs. We would highly recommend I R C to our friends and family .

IRC tiling is a top-notch tiling service! David and his crew are awesome! They are consummate professionals, and care about their work. On this project, I asked them last-minute (1 week ago) if they could get a tile job done before our guest arrived for the xmas holiday. He said he would do his best to get it done, and it was completed 2 days ago. On this project, we asked IRC to tile our basement stairs and hallway to match our entryway and kitchen tile that they put in a couple years ago (also did an amazing job on that project!). All of the lines are clean, the tile is beautiful, and they made it look immaculate before they left. David is also very good at keeping in touch and on budget! We will look forward to IRC doing the tile for our upcoming bathroom project.

This was my first experience with a major home project and I couldn't be more pleased with how it went. I met with David for an estimate and he was on par with the 2 others I received cost wise, but I ultimately selected his company due to the positive Angie's List reviews. I was pretty set on installing some tiles from Home Depot but took his suggestion of checking out the place he recommended in Everett. For about the same cost as HD, I selected a tile that I really liked that was of a higher quality. David and I agreed upon a date to start the work and he and his team moved quickly to complete the project. The project would have been done in a weeks time had I not had to order more trim pieces (my error). Every day the crew would clean up and set expectations of the work to be done the following day and what time to expect them. David also made suggestions along the way regarding tile layout and grout colors. Before any tile was laid down, his crew would consult with me on the different options and layouts. David also called me at the end of each work day to check in and see how the progress was going which I appreciated. Every person working for him did a nice job and showed the same attention to quality and customer service. I am thrilled with my new tile floors and recommend IRC Tile without hesitation. I will be using them in the future. David and his crew are top notch and great to work with.

I carefully read the reviews of many tile installers I found on Angie's List. I met with someone from IRC (forget his name) to review the scope of our job (re-tiling 2 bathrooms and a fireplace), as well as some additional options of other related work. We discussed that we were on a bit of a time crunch in order to complete this tile work in order to continue our process of renovating a condo we're going to sell. I wrote down my email address for easy reference to send the quote, and we had communicated by phone prior to his arrival, but I never heard another word from this company about the estimate or even to say they were too busy to do the work. I had chosen the 3 companies with the best reviews that were near me and seemed to provide the services I was looking for, but it is clear they were all too busy for me, which was disappointing. We chose to install slab remnants we found through another company and gave up on doing the tile since it was just a cosmetic upgrade.

This was the first time we had done any major renovation on a house and we undertook to do all three bathrooms at the same time. The whole process was scary so we were looking for someone who could guide us through the process and do a great job at a reasonable cost. David fit the bill on all counts. From his first visit, we were comfortable with him and liked that he made suggestions to improve the overall outcome of the project. Many of the other contractors expected us to know exactly what we wanted. Since we have no experience with this type of thing, his advice was extremely helpful. His estimate included the cost of all the work as well as the cost of optional work we discussed during his visit. David also got us discounts on our tile and fixtures which meant we could splurge a little on the tile for our master bath and still stay close to our original materials budget. He also put us in contact with a frameless shower door supplier who gave us an outstanding price on the door. As the worked progressed, I was very impressed with the attention to detail David and his crew showed. They spent lots of time to calculate how to lay the tile so it was balanced with no small pieces on the edges. They always asked me my opinion before proceeding. In our master, they took care to line up the grout lines on the floor with the grout lines on the shower curb, bench and wall, so it has a very cohesive look. David also suggested tiling the shower ceiling, an idea I resisted at first. In the end, I decided to rely on David's experience and knowledge in this and tiled the ceiling. It looks wonderful. The only "surprise" cost we had in this process was the discovery of a small leak in the roof over our master shower. His team located the source of the leak, repaired the roof, tested it and continued on with the project. Overall, we are thrilled with the results in all three bathrooms but particularly with the master bath. David and his team were great with work with and showed great care and respect for our home and our project. We will certainly use IRC again when we are ready to redo our kitchen.

We were very satisfied with the professionalism of David Hoblea and it is clear he is a skilled craftsman. There were design decisions to be made and those were collaborative and worked out well! Note that my "B" grade for the quality item above was that there were a few small unfinished spots that needed attention and they were addressed at the final inspection day. We will call upon David for our next tile project!

It looks like a million bucks! I went to the supplier David recommended and selected a 1/2 inch by 1 inch glass tile in a shade that compliments the rest of the shower room (walls and steps) which were not being replaced. After installation and grouting it appears that the glass floor tiles and the slate on the walls and steps were designed that way. There's no way it looks like a patch/redo. The floor has a wonderful 'watery' look but with all the favorable attributes of ceramic material vs. natural stone. David was a joy to work with, extremely knowledgeable about possible alternatives to solve my efflorescent problem and his installation is a beauty to behold. I am extemely happy about the results and expect the floor to last many nearly-carefree years.

IRC Tile Services did a great work on my bathroom remodel. That included plumbing, custom shower pan, and then tile on the shower pan. David was diligent in asking good questions to clarify the plan and offered advice that ultimately improved the plan. I was in a hurry so he fit my project into his schedule, started right on time, and finished on time. The work looked great; tile was nicely lined up with the drain. Since I?m doing much of the bathroom remodel myself he offered great advice on how to continue work. I highly recommend working with David and IRC Tile.

I cannot say enough good things about David and the rest of the team at IRC Tile services. Cost - During the bidding process, IRC had an estimate significantly lower in cost then the other folks listed at the top of Angies List in the Kitchen Remodeling category. Second, during the project scoping, we had already chosen a granite for the bathroom countertop and David recommended a cheaper models that were near identical and was even kind enough to drop off a sample. We took a look and decided to go with this new model saved nearly a thousand dollars before the project even began. As the project progressed, the only increase in costs were because my wife and me decided to change some of the faucets that we had originally told him we would keep. Craftsmanship - The quality of work was exceptional and the tile work was complex as we had some portions that wrapped around our cabinets and they had to cut down some tiles to fit into some tight corners. Needless to say the delivered product is above and beyond what we were expecting. I wish I had before and after pictures that I could share, because the kitchen looks AMAZING. Expertise - While we thought we knew what we wanted there were some forks in the road and other changes that we didn't foresee and we are so glad we had IRC to guide us. 1) we originally planned to leave the desk in the kitchen area plain wood, but were able to get this countertop upgraded basically for free since we saved so much money on the bathroom countertops. I can't imagine the new kitchen without out it now. 2) We initially wanted to go bullnose edging because we didn't know any better, but based on recommendations from David went with another basic edging that is more popular nowadays and we are so glad we did. 3) they guided us through other parts of the process we never even knew we had to think about including epoxy grout colors, tile gap sizes, sink/faucet options, etc. Cleanliness - the day they came in, the put up plastic everywhere to make sure dust and debris didn't get everywhere, this was especially helpful to me as we have a newborn. In addition they layed out canvas everywhere they worked and cleaned everything up after. Was spot on clean up job. Dependability - David was always reachable and they delivered the project on time being mindful of how to minimize interruption to our daily lives. I would get pictures email/texted to me of the sinks and faucets so that i could easily make decisions on some of the finishing touches. After they completed the project I noticed that the dishwasher wasn't working properly. I was able to immediately reach David and he said that if there was anything wrong or broken they would replace the dishwasher for free, but turned out they had to just turn on the 2nd dishwasher valve which they did shortly after I called them. All of their workers were really nice people, and we had zero concerns leaving them in our home unattended, which says a lot (especially for my wife). As a summary, they were far cheaper then others, delivered above and beyond what we expected and completed the project on-time and on-budget. I could not be more pleased with the results - Thank you IRC and AngiesList!

David and his crew were very professional, prompt, and efficient. They completed the work in just three days, and it looks great. David was also very responsive in the pre-work aspect of the project (providing my estimate, answering questions, etc.). I would definitely recommend them to friends or hire them again for future work.

David came to measure and gave me a good quote. He offered his contractor discount at a tile store with an excellent selection. It was very easy to choose, and the tile store worked well with me to order and deliver the tile to David with quick turnaround Work began soon after, because my job was not particularly large, he was able to fit it in among his other jobs. Demo was quick and painless, and the clean-up was very thorough. Laying of tiles began next, and I was consulted at every step to make certain of my satisfaction. Grouting was accomplished the final day. David followed up shortly after, and all finishing details were made, again with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. David and his crew emphasize careful work that makes them proud, while making the customer very satisfied. I will not hesitate for a moment to use David's services in the future. Have already referred neighbors to try him as well. Job VERY well done, IRC Tile Services!!! UPDATE: David's suggestion for use of epoxy grout was a great idea. Makes for easy cleaning and no need for annual sealing.

We used IRC to install a backsplash in a recently remodeled kitchen. David was very quick to come out and give us an estimate, even though it was a small project. He offered suggestions regarding installation, grout and design touches that other companies did not address. The work was scheduled quickly and was completed on time. In addition to the tile work they modified several electrical outlets to fit over the new tile. They were careful about cleaning up and everything looked great when they were finished. We will definitely use this company again and will recommend them to others.

This was my first experience ever with a contractor, and it was fantastic. The craftsmanship and attention to detail of the tile is outstanding - for example, in a situation I feel others would have short-cutted, they cut the a tile in a very non-trivial way to wrap around the molding at the edge of the door. Now - I look at other tile installations in other bathrooms, and I know that what I have is superior. Additionally - the process was smooth. David was very responsive, and contacted me at the end of the day every day with updates. His crew was very friendly and careful - they exited the front door and walked around the house to get to the garage, even though it would be shorter to go straight to the garage from the inside; they did this to minimize the amount of walking inside. That said, it wasn't all without issue, but most of the issues would have occurred with anyone. The project's timeline ended up being a bit longer than originally planned (2.5 weeks instead of 1.5); I was OK with it and didn't really mind but David was mindful and didn't charge me for some extra unexpected work needed to install the vanity in recognition of the extra time needed overall, which I thought was nice. Overall, it was fantastic. David will be the first person I call when I'm ready for the second bathroom

Several tile contractors turned down the project because of construction and scheduling complications. David was the only contractor with the "we can do this attitude". David provided all the qualities expected from a pro. The workers cleaned up the area each day, as well as when the project was finished.

When I was getting estimates early on, the experience with David was by far the best. He took multiple measurements of the spaces, asked me questions about what I wanted/what I was thinking about, and gave good advice on the things I should think about. His estimate included everything we talked about, and also included optional line items for upgrades (like epoxy grout--really glad he suggested that). There were absolutely no surprises on the invoice, and the amount he quoted (plus the options I choose) was exactly what I was charged for. Ultimately, I went with IRC partly because they had a competitive price, but more importantly because David showed an interest in my project and made me feel comfortable. David and his crew were very respectful of my home. Each morning when they arrived they laid out tarps to keep the carpets clean. When working on the master bathroom, they made sure that the bed/dresser/... in the bedroom were covered with plastic to prevent them from getting dusty. At the end of each day, they vacuumed and cleaned up after themselves leaving my place in a very livable state during the work. I also found the team very trustworthy and didn't worry if I needed to leave them home alone to take care of something. I also had a few custom orders that slowed down the process and David was great about working with me to schedule things as they made sense and to get things done as quickly as materials allowed. He kept me informed of when he and his crew would be there and what would be done when. He was also very responsive by phone and email. The tile itself looks wonderful. There was a lot of attention to detail and planning (ie. ensuring uniform spacing/positioning and thinking about the layout before starting to ensure that I didn't end up with super thin tile anywhere). His recommendations for placing the eye lines was great, and really makes the designs in both bathrooms stand out. I also wanted a tall soap niche with glass shelves (I saw a picture online and really liked the look/utility of it) and his design/install for that turned out even better than I'd hoped. After seeing how nice the bathrooms looked, and remembering that David also does tile cleaning/restoring, I had him come back out to clean my other tile floors. The kitchen tile was massively improved, and he was even able to get out some oil stains that had been in the stone for years. Once everything was cleaned, he came back and applied an enhancing sealer which really brought out the color of the stone and should keep it protected for a long time. In the end, David worked on every bit of tile in my house and it all looks fantastic. I would recommend IRC without hesitation and David will be the first person I call if I ever need tile work done in the future.

From the moment he came to my house to provide an estimate until the final clean-up was complete, David was professional, quick to respond to inquiries, courteous, fair, and genuinely concerned that I was happy with his work. Through his wholesaler I was able to find the perfect glass mosaic tile for the kitchen backsplash and he got all the work done in three consecutive days. Given the amount of work done and the time spent by David and his assistant Louie the price was very reasonable. He honored the estimate even though it may have taken longer than anticipated to complete all the work. I will definitely use IRC Tile Services for my next remodeling project.

From initial consultation to completion of project David was very professional and attended to the most minute detail. His guys were very courteous, hard working and professional. They completed the project on time, as promised, and at a totally reasonable cost. We are actually having them return to add granite to our kitchen cabinets in a few weeks. We had a great time having IRC Tile Services again, to work in our house. We are so very happy with the end result, and finally we get to enjoy our house to it's full potential.
