10/10: I loved that this is a local company.
I recently had Emerald City Chimney service my wood burning stove. After having a terrible experience with another company, it was a perfect experience with Emerald City Chimney. Starting with browsing their website I was able to see pictures of all of their technicians, which was helpful to know who was going to be showing up to my home. I had the pleasure of having Bruce assigned to take care of my chimney. Bruce did a fantastic job of listening to my concerns, walking me through what he was seeing and covering options with me around what was needed and what should be done when. After he was finished with the sweeping and inspection, he throughly cleaned the area leaving it in immaculate condition. He also took the time to walk me through the billing and what the process looked like. All in all this was a fantastic experience and I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Emerald City Chimney and Bruce to anyone looking to have their Chimney serviced. THANK YOU BRUCE and ECC!

Wayne and his crew did an excellent job doing a complete rebuild of my 73 year old chimney. His bid was the only one that told me about the code that requires it to be replaced all the way down to the attic floor-not just above the roof.
On time, efficient, professional and well -priced. Excellent clean up too. Highly recommend.

Great place I have used for over a decade. They have always been honest with me and done good work for a good price. I mostly see Bruce and he is a good guy, takes care of things properly. I recently had a weird incident with our fireplace where creosote was falling down the chimney onto our insert and it choked out the fireplace. I called on a Friday late afternoon and they made an appointment for me first thing in the morning. Bruce kindly addressed the problem for us so we have the option of using our fireplace before it gets really cold.

Emerald City Chimney rebuilt the upper part of our chimney. They did a great job - it looks beautiful! The whole process was very professional, from Bruce's original visit and estimate to the last clean-up. Access to our house was difficult, but the crew worked diligently and efficiently and finished on time. During the job, they decided that tuck-pointing the entire chimney was not necessary, and deducted a substantial amount from the bill, which we already thought was quite reasonable. If you have any chimney problem, we would highly recommend Emerald City Chimney!

They did a very nice job on our chimney rebuild. When Bruce estimated the work, he noted that more of the chimney needed to be rebuilt (and correctly so) than the other companies had, yet Emerald City remained competitive on price. When we felt one portion of the work was not done as we had anticipated, they came out within a few days and made it right. We happily recommend them.

Description of Work: They were hours late. When I called them, a woman answered the phone "Hello." I had to ask if they were a company. She was very rude. When a van finally came the workers looked very unprofessional and I felt very uncomfortable asking them into my home, so I did not answer the door.

Description of Work: Harry and his team came out to repair the chimney on our home that had never been attended to. We recently moved in and we knew it needed repair, but we didn't know how much until we went out for bids. ECC was the best! The work they quoted was reasonably priced and generous. They came out a few weeks after we called to let them know they got the job, did everything in two days and seemed to have fun doing it. We highly recommend them to our friends and family.

Description of Work: One of my rentals needed one last work order done, and this company was the most pleasant on the phone, most reasonably priced (one other company quoted $300 over the phone w/o even seeing the work to be done). He arrived on time, put tarps on the stairs and living room floor, and completed all work in under two hours. Cap did NOT need replacing, so he saved us some money. Once he was gone, you'd never know that someone did a great cleaning and minor repair.

Description of Work: I requested an examination of a leaking chimney. Frank called ahead to tell me he was on his way. He was prompt, courteous and professional. He looked at the situation, took some pictures, and gave me some suggestions on how to proceed. Considering that we were preparing the house for sale, he suggested that we not do anything just now, until the sale was in progress. He did not charge me anything at this time. I was very pleased and would definitely call them again.

Description of Work: I do not recall the actual price. I appreciated the honesty of the company. I was doing a remodal of a house in very bad shape. The chimney needed little cleaning and there were few concerns. He could have easily told me otherwise and I would have acceped due to the condition of the house.

Description of Work: My tenant had a problem in her fireplace with smoke coming into the unit. I called them to check on four different units. After examining all of the units, he replaced and installed stainless steal caps on two units and completed firebox mortar on a unit to prevent possible backfires. He didn't charge to check the other two units. I called during a cold November and had to wait 6 weeks for a December appointment. They're very good and I would call them again.

Description of Work: "DID THE COMPANY PERFORM WORK?" UH, WELL, THEY CAME OUT TO PERFORM THE WORK WITH A CALL A HEAD AND ON TIME. TURNS OUT OUR FIREBOX WITH ITS MISSING MITE OF MORTAR AND THE ONE LOOSE BRICK WAS SOMETHING WE COULD REPAIR OURSELVES AND THE GUY WAS COMPLETELY UNCONCERNED ABOUT IT. HE TOLD ME WHAT I NEEDED TO DO TO DO THE REPAIRS MYSELF, IF I EVEN WANTED TO REPAIR IT. CHECKED UP THE FLUE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY CLEANING REQUIRED. NONE WAS. HE DIDN'T CHARGE ME AT ALL FOR THE VISIT. MY HUSBAND WAS RIGHT. THE FIREBOX IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND EMERALD CITY CHIMNEY DIDN'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A WORRIED PERSON WHO DIDN'T KNOW THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. VERY GOOD ON THEM. "HONESTY" WAS MY EXPERIENCE.
