Very efficiently. In and out. Did the job.

They measured the existing structure, outsourced the manufacture and installed the new crown and cap. The new solution is maintenance free and will last for as long as we own the house. They discounted the price because we found them on Angie's List. The cost for labor and material was $1,336. We are very pleased with the result. It is interesting to note that other companies I contacted to get an estimate either didn't service our area or charged to do an estimate with that cost to be applied if they were selected.

Work was done, workers cleaned up after. worker came to do the final sealing. No problems after this particularly wet fall and winter

They did a great job, on time. They also came back after I discovered a bird trapped inside and flushed it out and replaced the cap.

The service gentleman came out, was early and yet waited for 15 mins for me to get home; at the scheduled time. He asked permission to start inspecting my chimney on the outside without me. Which I gave, then he gave me the full overview of what was going on with cracking. He made recommendations on how to fix but told me it was not structural just cosmetic so the repairs could wait until summer when weather was nicer. He also gave my chimney a clean bill of health to help with the sale of our house. He was a wonderful choice!!

Several years ago, as a result of reading on Angie's List, I'd asked Emerald City Chimney to come look at the outside of my chimney as pieces of brick were flaking off unto the ground. Bruce came and gave me an estimate to seal and one to rebuild. This year, before having a new roof put on, I asked for a bid to rebuild chimney. Bruce came back and did that, later coming out with samples of brick to match the old brick as well as possible. They arrived promptly on a Monday, tore down to just below the roof, and started rebuilding. Finished Tuesday early afternoon. Cleaned up well. The men were all professional and quite nice.

Frank came to our home, opened the damper with a little muscle, went up on the roof, inspected the two chimneys and also looked at a free standing fireplace that we had. He said everything was OK, gave advise on future maintenance and left a very reasonable bid for maintenance work that would be needed in the future. No charge for current visit. Very professional and trustworthy.

Serviceman arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. We had thought that the wood stove had a blockage in the chimney, but he said it was just an air circulation problem and told us how to remedy it. Cleaned both chimneys. Answered all my questions.

The service from the time I booked the call until the work was done was just outstanding. There are not enough numbers or stars to rate this company. They were great.

We originally just wanted our chimney to be cleaned as we had no idea when it was last touched. Emerald City came out to take a look and determined that there was no need to clean. However, when our cleaner was on the roof, he noted two things 1) No chimney cap 2) There is a crack and he took several pictures showing such. He was not pushy with any services, but we did take him up on the offer to install the cap. Pleased that we did especially with all the recent rain to help prolong the life of our chimney. Would easily reach back out to them again for the chimney repair and future services.

When they came out for a bid it seemed like a simple job to sand down the mortar between a few ( about 5 or 6 ) of the bricks and put new in new mortar to keep it sealed from the weather. They also pointed out a few other places that they said also should be fixed if they were coming out anyhow. At the time I was very clear that I wanted it to match the existing mortar for the rest of the bricks and not stand out where they fixed it. They claimed that they have various methods of matching the color of the mortar and it would look good. Everything sounded good and I had them back to perform the job. They came back when they said they would and fixed the cracked mortar by sanding it out and filling in with new mortar. The entire job took about one hour. They did the work and it seems to be fixed fine. However the mortar did not even come close to matching. It looks horrible and is very dark compared to the rest of the brick on the house. Unfortunately this is right above my garage so everyone sees this as soon as they pull unto my house. Also since they fixed multiple places there are many places that has this dark mortar. Since it was raining at the time they did the work I wanted to wait for it to dry before I got too upset about this issue. I called the following Monday and the receptionist said that I need to wait a few day or even a week or two for it to completely dry. I waited over a month and it still looked ridiculous. I then called back and they said that they would need to contact the person who did the work and get back to me. They never returned my phone calls. After a few more weeks I tried to call again and they same issue of not returning calls. Again I called back again and they said that they would talk to the person who did the work and call back. At this point I had little confidence that they actually would call me back. However to my surprise they called me back and said that this is the best they could do and would not even come back to even look at it. At both the time when they bided the job and again when they performed the work they assured me that it would match. I understand that this is not a huge amount of money when it comes to house repairs but I feel like I got scammed and they will not stand by this at all. I think that this is absolutely ridiculous and would not use this company in the future for additional work. I would recommend avoiding this company for future jobs as they seem to not be able to be honest but instead only say what they think will get them the job.

Bid was more than three times what others wanted and included work that wasn't necessary.

It went very well. Emerald City guys were prompt, courteous, neat and a pleasure to work with. Hope I don't have to have another chimney rebuilt, but if I do, I'll definitely use them again!

Wonderful service. Inspected inside of two fireplaces but said only one needed to be cleaned. Went to top of chimney to expect the outside of the chimney and knocked the chimney to loosen any debris down to the bottom of the fireplace. Laid out a big cloth in front of fireplace to be cleaned. Brushed inside of fireplace. Vacuumed out fireplace, removed old logs/debris from inside fireplace. Cleaned everything up. Was much faster than I had expected! Entire visit took about 20 minutes. Very pleased and would hire again!

They provided me with an estimate. Scheduled the day for install. They arrived on time and completed the work even though it was more difficult than they initially thought. It required that they cut through the chimney into the flue and then manually bend the liner. They repaired the chimney and it is virtually undetectable. I couldn't be more pleased with the service. We now have a functioning Wood Stove.
