We wanted to use our fireplace this winter so we called to get an estimate. One of the owners come to our house within the week and gave us a good estimate (better than another one we had gotten from another company). Then a week later we decided to move ahead with getting the firebox rebuilt and called Emerald City. Within a week they came and did a great job fixing the firebox within 3 hours. They arrived on time, were respectful of our house (they took off their shoes before entering!) and answered all of our questions. We're very satisfied with the quality and cost of their work and their professionalism.

This company is outstanding! Bruce, the technician who came to my home, was punctual and extremely professional. He did a great job of sealing everything off in our family room so that our home stayed clean. He thoroughly checked out all of the cracks and crevices before recommending what needed to be done. He was extremely efficient in cleaning the chimney/flue. He had everything cleaned and wrapped up in just about an hour. I would HIGHLY recommend doing business with this company. I say this because when I had my chimney cleaned a few years ago, I remember how unprofessional a couple of the firms were that I attempted to do business with (with one, I had a set appointment and they never even showed up-no phone call, nothing). Emerald City Chimney called the day before and left a message as a reminder of my appointment. A very professional company.

We had a major snow storm here and they were really good about calling to say they weren't coming out. But we set-up another appointment and they are coming back to do the work.

They showed up on time, did the job and were fast. They were great and the price was what I expected.

Great. After inspecting the woodstove and spending at least an hour climbing up and down my high pitched roof I was advised that the stove was in working order and did not need service. No charge. I then asked him to inspect the fireplace which he did. The fireplace needed cleaning which he completed that day for a reasonable price. He took great care in not harming or soiling our freshly installed wood floors.

They provided the service they said they would and were professional. A brief comment about being sure gutters were cleaned out from masonry debris led to thorough cleaning of gutters.

It went very well. He was right on time. He inspected both of our chimneys and cleaned the one that needed it. He was very neat and left no dirt. He also put caps on both our chimneys. He was missing one of the needed caps and promised to come back the following week to install it -- which he did. We were very happy with the quality of the work and would use Emerald City Chimney Sweeps again.

It went great overall. The communication was great and they stuck to their price even though they ran into some problems and had to do extra work. Wayne, the one in charge, followed up on the bid, answered all of my questions very clearly, and agreed to do some extra work that we needed that wasn't originally part of the bid. There was still a problem when they finished the job that they weren't expecting, and he stayed for several more hours to make sure that it was taken care of. I can't imagine a better experience.

When I had called them, I thought the chimney needed to be cleaned. It turns our that it was fine and I was not charged for him replacing the chimney cap.

Excellent from the initial email to their website to the call to schedule the appointment to the arrival window of a one hour window. Who quotes a one-hour window and then shows up on time!? Their technician called when he was on the way, apologized for arriving at the end of the one hour window (still can't believe that part), and was very crisp about the work.

They did great! They were very easy to work with, and their price was reasonable. Their work was good as well.

They did an outstanding job. They gave me a free estimate. They were a little pricey, but they were courteous and professional. They came out on time. I would highly recommend them.

It went well. The service agent was courteous, prompt, honest, clean, and rapid. I had made an appointment for inspection, knowing that they might clean one or both fireplaces and chimneys. After looking, he told me he needed to clean the main floor fireplace, but that the insert downstairs did not look very used and was quite clean (after looking from the roof/chimney and from the fireplace insert downstairs). He did not have all three caps, so returned two days later to complete the work.

Emerald City has cleaned our chimney several times in the last few years and has always done a good job. The sweep cleans thoroughly and is careful to minimize dust. The price is fair as well. I will call them next time I need the chimney cleaned.

I called a number of places trying to get estimates. Only 2 responded, Emerald City's response was great, a guy came out told me what I needed and gave me an estimate. The other company's response was a phone only quote, with no desire to come look at the problem(the problem being: try to reduce water entering the house around the chimney). The quotes were within $50 of each other so I chose Emerald City for their prompt response and the onsite estimate. They called the evening before the work was to happen, just to remind me. They then showed up during the day while I was off at work. According to my neighbor, they were there when they said they would be. I was told that they'd leave a copy of the invoice after the work was done, but I didn't find one. The area where they worked was nice and clean. Judging by my novice eyes, the work was well done; the mortar looked good and the color matching was good. The flashing looked like it'd do the job. My two complaints as I mentioned above were that the put on a really ugly chimney cap and they just covered up the old rusted flashing. But all in all, I'm happy with the work they did.

The man arrived right on the dot. I was prepared to pay for a chimney cleaning, but he said that we did not need one. He then advised me and showed me with a checklist the items I should consider doing in the future. I just can't believe he didn't just charge me for a cleaning that wasn't necessary. It is nice to be able to trust a company. They are FANTASTIC!!

I called to have my chimney cleaned (two fireplaces) and agreed to pay $250. When Bruce came out, he determined that the chimneys did not require cleaning so it cost me nothing. He could have cleaned the chimneys anyway and charged me - I never would have known the difference. He also determined that some repairs are advisable and gave me estimates for each repair separately. He was very professional.

Called day before to confirm time. Here at given time. Told me what needed installed. Cleaned up area after work was done. In short order. Very pleased with his work ethics. I asked about if I needed chimney strapped down for earthquake as he was leaving. Stated that this is not needed because of how chimney is situated.

It was wonderful working with them. They were responsive and professional. They were also reasonably priced compared to others I had looked at. This was the first time I had used their services.

The were fine and showed up when they said they would. But there was one problem they didn't offer the discount that I felt they should offer for repeat customers.

They were great, everything but price; other then that they were really good.

I had an appointment scheduled for noon but Scott did not show up until 12:PM. So this was not a good start. He then walked around the job and said, "Oh, this is a complete rebuild this can't be fixed." He tried to tell me that you can't patch cracks in the block because the mortar between the blocks would be different then the blocks and therefore wouldn't hold; curious since there is always mortar between blocks. Playing along I said how much would this cost and he threw out K for a price. I said well why don't you write up a bid and mail it to me. He then left. A few days later I got a voice mail from the company saying they needed to come back out and measure and asked if next Monday would be OK. I did not call them back as I had 5 different companies come out and this was the only one that couldn't appear to fix some cracks. Even though I didn't call the company back they still showed up on the property and left me a note saying sorry they missed me and to call the office. This is a rental property and they knew that so I was sad to see them just show up there without talking to me. Lastly, I had told Scott and all the companies out that I planned to put in wood stoves with liners so the repairs were just to be extra cautious. I think that this company must just want to clean chimneys and isn't serious about repairs.

He was quick, willing to discuss what would be done, how long he thought it would take and explained the estimate in detail. I really appreciated the professionalism. Thanks!
